Best accommodation I've had on my 3-week trip to Bali/Nusa Penida. Location: I found this hotel as I wanted to stay in the Toya Pakeh area. The hotel is close to the harbour and many restaurants and shops, which is very convenient. You should drive a car to get around the island. The hotel is a great base to leave from and they can connect you with a private driver. Hotel: I was stunned by its beauty - wow! The pool is very impressive. You can basically step out of your bungalow and get a fresh dip in it. The room is beautiful. The bed is comfy. The AC is good. The bathroom is part indoor/outdoor and has an outdoor shower, which was amazing. The hotel's restaurant was great, the food was good and they can deliver it to your room so you can eat it in peace on your porch. Service: I have stayed in many nice places during my trip but the service at MG has been the best! The whole staff was great, but I want to give a special shout out to Komang (Basir), who was super helpful during my stay. He really went above and beyond to support me to make my stay perfect. I can see he works very hard every day & takes on many different responsibilities. Activities: I came as a solo traveller who can't drive a motor, so I'm so happy the hotel connected me to a driver & guide who took me out on full day trips for an affordable price (much cheaper than what you find online). My guide was totally perfect, and even took photos of me everywhere. I was able to explore many of the island's main attractions in a few days. I extended my stay with two extra nights because I really liked it here & in Nusa Penida. I stayed here in mid-December, and despite the rainy season, it was completely dry, sunny and warm here. Maybe I was lucky! Nusa Penida has the perfect combination of relaxation and adventure, and MG Villa is a great base to explore the island.

The MG Villa & SPA is well located within walking distance of shops, ATMs, restaurants, laundries and the beach. The well tended gardens and pool were always welcome after the hustle and bustle of the main road outside. A good sized balcony to sit and enjoy a drink overlooking the gardens and pool. All the staff were friendly and two in particular, Monica and Yudi, went above and beyond with their caring level of service. The toilet with the shower being open to the sky was great – no need for a noisy extractor fan.

At minimal cost, the addition of a small desk lamp would be very helpful to anyone wanting to use their laptop or write a shopping list. I had to use my headlamp to see the keyboard! I can't comment on the "SPA" as we didn't want to make use of it but I saw no sign of it being used over the six nights of our stay.

Everything, from location to central area (closed to restaurants and harbour), comfy beds, spacious rooms, super friendly staff and very attentive manager.

Location is great, close to the port and with nearby places, especially good if you don’t rent a motorcycle. Very nice villa, with great pool but the staff were the best part. They were extremely helpful, we booked a car with them to tour the island and the driver was great! The most important was the effort made to return a bag we had left in the room, and the staff were able to get it to Bali in time of our departure.

Early in the morning the noise from the street and surrounding areas can be quite loud which means from 6am it gets difficult to sleep.

We had a great stay at the hotel. The bungalows exceeded our expectations as they were very comfortable and with nice high celling. The pool is big and the water was at a pleasant temperature. We also enjoyed our breakfast and dinner as well as the spa. The hotel is easily reachable walking from the port.

If neighbour rooms are watching TV late at night, or speaking loud, you can hear. Luckily we had no major issues, but could definitely notice some noise from other rooms. The pool bar looks great but unfortunately seemed abandoned during our stay.

Breakfast was lovely but limited choice, it would be ideal to be able to choose two food items instead of one (ie fruit and toast or fruit and omelette). It would be ideal to have drying racks high up on the wall in the shower area as often this was the only place the sun could dry out our wet clothes and towels. After the first night we decided it was a good idea to go to bed early as the call to prayer over the island loudspeaker occurs at 4am followed by barking dogs and roosters and then later the noisy traffic 😂

Close to boat terminal. Right next to a dive shop Scuba Junkies if you are up for diving. Big pool. Good breakfast with somewhat limited selection but there are plenty of restaurants nearby. Powerful A/C. My only recommendation to the resort - turn on the A/C before guest's arrival so you don't enter stifling hot room upon arrival.

Lovely small hotel with around 20 individual huts. Pool was wonderful and perfect temperature. Staff were friendly and helpful. Just a really nice place to stay. Great shower!! Breakfast was included which was a nice extra. Good location for arriving from harbour and a selection of cafes and restaurants close by.

It didn’t cause a problem for us but rooms were quite dark even with all lights on.

Fantastic location to the main pier which is a hub for many tour operators, snorkelling and diving companies. Hôtel is in the main thoroughfare which offers many eateries, laundry shops, kiosks, etc.

More training needs to be offered to the staff in order to improve their English and raising the cleanliness of the premises. The fried rice contains too much msg which makes one’s throat so thirsty and uncomfortable when one goes for snorkelling/diving afterwards.

The restaurant at the MG was good, staff very attentive and friendly. Food quality was good.

Price was good, location was perfect for me as I went there to scuba dive and there was a scuba shop next door. The manager was fantastic, helped me confirm my travel plans to the next island and transportation from the harbor to my new hotel.
