Location: The hotel is located in a very quiet area in South Lombok. From Bangsal Port it took us about 1.5-2 hours to get to the hotel. The hotel is located right at the beach front and is as of Sept 2024 the only hotel at this beach, which is its major advantage. It is a really quiet place, easy to relax and calm down. If you look for a quite place to escape in paradise Amber is a 10/10. Accommodation: The rooms, pool area, dining area, reception, gym and Spa as well as the beach front itself are build with lots of little details that have amazed us right away. Everything is build in a minimalistic way but yet still very comfy. 10/10 Activities: Although is located quite in the middle of „nowhere“, there are lots of things to do. You can book lots of trips to waterfalls, snorkeling, or fishing with the hotel. We booked a surfing lesson at Selong Belanak Beach with a local surfschool organized by Amber. It was great fun and a really good spot for beginners. Renting a scooter and exploring the surrounding was a blast as well. We did 2 Spa treatments as well and felt great afterwards. Nothing less than 10/10 Kitchen/food: A mixture of national (rice dishes, fresh fish) and international (pasta, pizza, burger) cuisine is served. The food was especially for the prices top notch, here again kudos to the chef as it was really fine dining at the beach front for affordable prices. There are multiple options for vegetarians in the menu as well. We tried the menu up and down and did not have a bad experience at all. Very delicious. 10/10 Service: The service was simply great, everyone was smiley and happy, we had a great time. Independent of the reception, restaurant, pool area, Spa, security or gardeners, everyone was really kind and offered their help at all times.

We stayed at Amber Resort Hotel from the 14th to the 19 th of December. We had a great time there and we enjoyed our stay very much. Everything was fine. The room was kept very clean; it was lovely to have cold and hot drinks in the room. The staff was very helpful and attentive to us. I would like to mention Adi who was exceptional. He would explain all the sites to visit in Lombok and activities to do. We followed his advice and thanks to him, we enjoyed so much being in Lombok. He could well be an organizer for places to visit, he’s amazing and he knows his island very well. A special thanks to him. Ronie was great as well and he helped us in many ways, advising us too. A very warm Thanks to him as well. Ali and Alejandro were helpful to us as well. We had a marvelous stay thanks to everybody working in the hotel. Thanks to everyone.

We absolutely loved this property! We will definitely be staying here again in future. It's very secluded and quiet in the area which is just what we needed to relax! Staff were fantastic and very helpful with everything we needed.

I do like the location, which is so beautiful, so peaceful and it has beautiful views surrounded. The staff are so friendly, helpful and so kind. Specially I have 1 year old baby, even the staff helped us with carried our baby so we can enjoyed our meals *so sweet ❤️, Ka Isna thank you to be so sweet to Rumi, and Rina thank you for all the kindness and hospitality, hopefully next year we can visit again Amber Resort. The food so yammiii, I must say, 1 of the best in the neighbourhood. The room's rate price of a resort is not so expensive.

Almost nothing, only when the housekeeper cleaned our room,they were opened the door, so we had to hunt the mosquitos 😅, don't worry, there is 1 spray anti mosquito at the hotel room, so you can manage it.

Overall a great, young facility with lots of potential: liked the quietness, the kindness of the staff, the design of the facilities, the restaurant menu, generous breakfast, the comfortable chairs, couches and beach mattresses.

Absence of day curtains in my room, no hot water, many mosquitos in the room (but later resolved with a plugin repellent), absence of beach towels vs bath towels, shower head a bit annoying to handle as constantly twisted, body lotion was provided on day 3 only, towels should be dried up and folded every day but it wasn’t the case for me, absence of towel or dry rack in the ventilated bathroom, which makes it difficult to dry things as outside air is quite humid, a bit too isolated maybe which renders any trip slightly more cumbersome, but thanks to a scooter rental just opposite this was easily solved. Spa and massage was overall good but with room for improvement. No paddles or kayaks, unfortunately. Missing weekly on-premise activities, which could be a nice highlight in the day.

Staff were all friendly and helpful, often going out of their way to accommodate requests that would make your stay all the better. For example, Marco the driver going out of his way to show us a Sasak village on the way to the airport, or the team allowing us a late check out, or the young man who was flexible with the scooter rental. The setting was very beautiful, the room comfy and clean.

The food was a bit bland. We much preferred eating outside at the Warrungs where the offerings had more flavour. I understand them catering to people who aren't used to spice, but we hoped to experience more traditional flavours at the hotel than we did. The hotel was also a little far away from amenities.

Amber Lombok is a beautiful, remote getaway perfect for a 3-4 day escape. It’s important to remember that this resort is on a secluded island, which adds to its charm but also means things might not always run as smoothly as in urban areas. A little patience and respect go a long way, especially when interacting with the hardworking staff. During our stay, we encountered some challenges, but the way they were handled truly showed the team’s dedication. For instance, our airport pickup didn’t happen due to a miscommunication. While it was inconvenient, we were warmly welcomed with complimentary drinks upon arrival, which we appreciated. Check-in took about an hour, but the staff were courteous and apologetic. On our second night, a heavy rainstorm caused a roof leak in our room. Once I reported it, the staff quickly upgraded us to a suite, which was a wonderful gesture. I also shared some advice about the issue, and they were genuinely grateful. Special thanks to Ardi, Josie, and Rina, who went above and beyond to make things right. The coastal surroundings are like something out of Pirates of the Caribbean—untouched, serene, and stunning. The water was crystal-clear and perfect for relaxation. While no place is perfect and occasional issues arise, the unique beauty of the location and the accommodating staff make Amber Lombok worth visiting. I’d recommend the resort without hesitation.

One suggestion: consider hiring more female housekeepers, as they might bring additional attention to detail in maintaining the accommodations.

We had an amazing stay at the Amber Hotel in Lombok and highly recommend it! The property is beautifully designed, offering the perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. We especially want to highlight the always friendly and helpful staff, who made our stay unforgettable. A special thanks goes to the housekeeping team, especially Rendi, who ensured we always felt comfortable and at home. The restaurant staff with Dias and Adi next to many others also welcomed us with smiles every day and provided excellent service. The excursions to Gili Secrets and Gili Island were definite highlights. Overall, a fantastic vacation – we would love to come back!

Gorgeous location. Expectational design for chilled beach vibe. Truly stunning views. Great music in evening and absolutely gorgeous gorgeous good. Unexpectedly good. Really responsive front desk. Great spa. Loads of extras comfortable places to sit in the resort which made the 4 days really relaxing and varied. Outdoor spots beside rooms with egg chair and day beds were more private then we thought which was lovely too.

Can't swim at the beach as the currents are too strong. Hotel surf packages very overpriced. just go to the beach. aqia surf brilliant.

We spent 4 days at the Amber Lombok Beach Resort in January 2025 – and we wish we could have stayed longer. From the customer service to the cleanliness to the quality of the food at the restaurant, everything was perfect. In rainy season it can take around an hour to reach the resort from the airport, travelling through picturesque rice fields as well as small villages. When you arrive, you can enjoy the fact that there are no other hotels around and it's not a highly developed part of the island. The tranquil location was ideal for a very relaxing break. Especially with our villa's private pool (the main pool also looked very nice, but we didn't try it out). The beach was pristine and also very quiet, giving us the chance to enjoy beautiful serene sunsets. We also very much appreciated the eco-friendly measures the resort has put in place. This was a significantly cleaner and more preserved place to visit that other parts of Indonesia. Thank you to the wonderful staff and especially Rina (Guest Relations) for always taking extra effort to make sure everything was perfect for our stay. I hope to come back again one day.

We had no problems or issues during our stay. The only thing to consider if booking here is that it's isolated, so for travellers who want to walk around to explore nearby attractions or towns it will require a bit more time to take transport elsewhere. But the resort has everything you need if you want to just enjoy a peaceful rest.
