The staff (Bli Sami & Gek Ayu) really helpful. ask them and they’ll try their best to help you. For me, it was when they helped me with the laundry. they willing to take and picking up with no additional charge. also the motor rental is the best. cheap with a reliable unit (I got Vario 125cc for Rp 80k). the room and bathroom is spacious. a lot of mirror. cool AC, reliable hot water. you can use the kitchen as well to make coffee or tea by your own with no additional charge! the breakfast is great. you got sliced papaya, dragon fruit, and watermelon also choice of banana pancake/scrambled egg/omelete which all is delicious.

there’re a lot of flies. if you eat outside, you might need to shoo shoo the flies 😁

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful place, and I must say it was an outstanding experience. The primary reason for this exceptional stay was the host, Mr. Sami. He is truly an extraordinary individual, always eager to assist and make the guests feel comfortable. During our stay, we had the opportunity to rent his bike, which allowed us to explore the beautiful surroundings with ease. Mr. Sami was incredibly accommodating; he even permitted us to use the kitchen to prepare some quick meals, which was a delightful surprise. I stayed there for two nights and wished I could have extended my stay. Unfortunately, there were no available rooms. However, Mr. Sami went above and beyond to ensure our continued comfort by helping us find another excellent accommodation just 300 meters away. To top it off, he graciously transported our luggage on his bike without charging us a single paisa. Mr. Sami's kindness, willingness to help, and dedication to providing an exceptional experience truly make him deserving of the highest praise. As this is appraisal time, I wholeheartedly give him a rating of FAR FAR EXCEED. I highly recommend staying at this place for anyone looking for a memorable and hospitable experience

Sami was an excellent host, very experienced in hospitality and tourism and a passionate and active community member of his village.We appreciated the experience of living simply and humbley as that's what the accommodation is about. Breakfasts were great. We didn't use a motorbike so utilised a great Hotel across the road for evening meals. Accessed transport for trips into main Ubud and surrounds.Thank you for sharing your journey with us Sami.

We're light sleepers, so with thin walls and backing onto local villagers with lots of active roosters (3..30 am was the beginning of the chorus and continued spasmodically until well after dawn)and barking dogs during the night it was good to get an early night to bed and some peaceful hours of sleep.We appreciate this is to be expected in village life.

What a delightful stay! So impressed and happy with our time at Casa D'Sami. Welcomed so warmly by Sami and his family from the minute we arrived. The location is about a 15 minute bike ride from the centre of Ubud which we thought was perfect, lovely and peaceful but within a good distance of the main attractions. Delicious breakfast every morning with good variety and unlimited tea, coffee and water available. We even came back from our Mt Batur hike a little after breakfast had ended and we were still able to have some, very kind. The room was very comfortable and clean and a great size, good water temperature and pressure in the shower too. Bed was made and bin changed daily if needed and we had laundry done too which was easy and quickly done. We also rented a great bike for a very good rate during our stay. I honestly cannot recommend enough, we wanted to stay another night but they were fully booked - easy to see why!

Owner Family is nice. Scooter Rental for a fair price possible. Tasty Breakfast. Other kind guests. Location is good if you drive around with a scooter. 20 minutes into the center (mostly because of traffic jams).

The room is clean for the price, bit dirty under the bed and the walls, mirrors and doors are worn down. You can‘t talk without being heard by the neighbors. Light sleepers will need ear plugs. We still had good 2 nights there, all minus points need to be regarded under the very good price. Would still recommend for a few nights.

I loved everything during this stay ! better than I expected, hoped we could stay more days... Host Sami and Aril were so nice and made us feel like family, Sami helped us get a driver to pick us up from airport to the property, and rent a motorbike. And Aril made breakfast for us most of the days with good ambience and tips to visit places around Rooms were very spacious and clean, calm and the view on the garden with the pool is so relaxing. Defenitly coming back here next time I visit Bali !

We stayed at Sami's for 6 nights and it was a great experience. Sami and his nephew Aaril were great hosts. The property itself is very cozy and comfortable. You feel like you are living like the locals. The location is also good. Not too close to the crowd of the centre but not too far also, a short bike ride. There is topaz cafe in case you don't have time to go far. Rooms as good size for 2 people with a balcony in the front to sit and enjoy the breeze. There is AC, table, chair, cupboard, side tables. Bathroom has hot water 24x7 and western commode. They provide towels but no toiletries. But that's not an issue in Bali. Just go to an indomaret or Alfa Mart :) Highly recommended to those who want to experience a relaxed stay. If you are someone who likes the luxury of fancy hotels , then maybe find another place. For all others, come to Sami's :)

Nothing of note

We stayed here for 2 nights. Main positive for me was the host, Sami, was very friendly and his hospitality was outstanding. Rooms were clean and neat. The overall ambience of the property is good and neatly maintained. You will get an open kitchen so if you want to cook then there is provision for that as well.

One thing I noticed is the rooms are a bit old and my suggestion is to renovate wherever possible. Other than this everything were perfect.

A wonderful, friendly family who work really hard to make sure you have a nice stay. Ayu spoke fantastic English, the breakfast was delicious (best pancakes we've had in Bali!) Free tea, coffee & water dispenser available. Comfy bed in spacious rooms, which open onto lovely garden area & pool. On check-out, we had to leave 5.30am to travelto the Gili's, one of the staff arrived super early pre-5am to make us fresh pancakes (with chocolate sauce!) & fruit as takeaway breakfast to eat at the port ~ we didn't expect this and thought it would be something small left in the fridge for us, we were very grateful :) It's good to bear in mind the property isn't on the roadside where the pin shows on Google, it's too narrow for a car so you need to walk down the lane and then follow the signage. Some might not expect this, but it's a short walk & a little oasis and you can't hear any traffic! Not much in the immediate area for food, so would recommend a scooter, but we also got GrabFood delivered a couple of times (just give them instructions). On Independence day, Sami informed us there would be a procession down the road going to temple, it was amazing to witness all the women dressed up with their offerings ~ thank you!

Admittedly the bathrooms are a bit tired, the door in our room wasn't in the best condition as it's wood and gets wet from the shower. This has nothing to do with the hosts/ family , but other guests were talking outside until gone 1am. It's well known that walls/ roofs on buildings in Bali/ Indo let noise in, so people need to be more courteous. Something like this can leave a sour taste towards other travellers and worse, it's not fair to the hosts to undo the good work they put in making your stay comfortable, please be respectful.
