We travel a lot and this was one of the best hotel experiences we had in life. From the arrival to the 5th day, the hotel staff kept exceeding our expectations. Easy check in, very important when you arrive late and tired. Very comfortable and clean room. The spa massage is fantastic. Excellent day tour with hotel driver. Breakfast and meals with good quality and excellent service. Transfer to Ubud centre… But the best in Tanah Gajah is the Staff: very well trained team and, more importantly, really good heart people! Big thanks to everyone in the team!

We stayed here for our honeymoon and loved everything about the hotel, the staff were excellent and met your every need. Nothing was ever to much for them. Food was amazing and the villa was just perfect. Would definitely come back again!!

Whilst the hotel is only a 10 minute drive from the centre of Ubud, there is no way you could walk there as the roads are too dangerous. The hotel runs a free taxi service until 6pm which is great but if you go out in the evening you would need to find a local taxi driver to bring you home, but there are plenty about! The mini bar in the room could do with restocking more than once a day, even if it was just with soft drinks, due to the heat and the need to re hydrate.

We had the most INCREDIBLE stay at Tanah Gajah this last week. The staff were exceptional, and there was never an ask too big for them. Their kindness and enthusiasm for everything they did, from grounds staff to our hot air balloon operator was unbelievable. The food was exceptional, the massages were wonderful and a particular highlight was the short walk we took round the block with Hendra - a real star! Thank you! The special touches like the team remembering condiments we love, or making a packed breakfast for our early morning excursion, meant a lot of both of us. Our stay with you really did feel like unbelievable luxury and we are so grateful - we were very sorry to leave. We really do hope to come again! All our love, Rosie & Ally Jones

The entrance to the resort is a small road but once you enter the resort, it's a whole different world. The place is massive but calm, peaceful & relaxed. My villa (10) was a bit old but charming. It has a modern Balinese vibe to it and came with an outdoor pool and a bath tub. The staff is extremely friendly and always trying to make your day better. The food was surprisingly good. Chef Dean even prepared a special dinner on my last evening.

Some of the outdoor furniture in my villa is old and worn out. The outdoor bath tub definitely requires a thorough scrubbed - which is why I didn’t even use it.

Tanah Gajah is a gem, even by Balinese standards. Designed by an artist for himself, you feel as if you are living within a royal garden. Visual feasts of sculptures, landscaping, nature(white and black swans, white pigeons, egrets landing in the rice paddies). The villas are fantastic, the food is great, the staff are delightful and attend to your every need. Complimentary alcohol, fruit, afternoon tea with snacks, and cocktails, and daily yoga are included. Nothing is spared to make your stay enjoyable. The only downside each morning is having to make the difficult decision whether to take an excursion, or stay for another tranquil day of pure luxury.

We as a couple stayed at several luxury resorts in our extended Bali trip and our favorite is Tanah Gajah. Their hospitality is the best. All the staffs are personal, warm and the happiest we've seen compared to other resorts. We are amazed that the management team find time to greet and chat with guests while staying on top of everything. The grounds is beautiful, authentic with traditional Balinese touch. Every corner seems to be well-maintained and cared with love. The villa comes with its private pool, outdoor courtyard, complimentary liquors, complimentary daily laundry service, daily fresh fruit basket. Each request like extra towels, drinks, food, spa availability/booking, tour seamlessly delivered within minutes. Some of our favorite moments at Tanah Gajah: pleasant walk within the beautiful and massive grounds (the property is huge); quietness overlook the peaceful rice paddy field while having breakfast; Balinese massages by Manik; morning yoga with Dewq; amazing dinner customized by head chef Dean on our preference; rice paddy walk with Agna; They also provide complimentary private rides to/from uBud town but we enjoyed our time at the resort so much we didn't make it to the town during the stay lol

This place was closer to a five-star TEMPLE than a hotel. The grounds and facilities are so immaculately kept to the point it feels like hallowed ground. The staff were absolutely wonderful. They truly go the extra mile and will make you feel like royalty. I am totally coming back here and bringing my wife.

Don't get me wrong: the food was great and delicately prepared. They're professionals, no doubt...but I was needing more spice, especially in the Balinese dishes. I feel like the food was a little too catered to "Western" taste buds, and I was going for more of that robust, spicy flavor (especially in the nasi goreng).

Location and grounds were amazing. The pool in particular was gorgeous. Staff very friendly and helpful. The activities like the rice paddy walk were a highlight. Our guide from the hotel was wonderful taking us through the rice fields and the local village. The morning Yoga sessions a great start to the day. Loved the Breakfasts'.....knockout smoothies!

This is by far one of the best places I have ever stayed. The grounds were absolutely breathtaking. The staff was kind, helpful, and supportive of all of our needs. The location set up an amazing tour and provided an amazing guide. We had delicious tea and fantastic happy hour as well. The restaurant was in a rice field which provided a beautiful view and amazing ambiance. The sunset was breathtaking. The spa was incredible to say the least. I enjoyed the ritual for one! The pools were immaculate just like the grounds and the photographer was awesome as well. I cannot recommend this location more!

3 amazing differentiators - First, the grounds are vast, each room is actually a villa, the gardens, the ponds, the pools …. all in the middle of rice fields - Second, the service with a personal butler and endless complementary services: afternoon tea, evening drinks, bedroom bar incl. whisky, gin and vodka - Lastly and most pleasing, the ever so friendly and attentive stafff All in, the most luxurious and restful experience, amazing even to well travelled tourists. Highly recommended!

All is perfect
