December 2023

We booked two rooms. They were adjacent to each other as I requested. Everything was good. Hotel has a great location. It is clean, comfortable, and quiet. Room service was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful. They used to order a taxi for us whenever we want.

We had two problems. First, they charged my card 250 euros as pre authorization just before my arrival. However, when I told the reservation manager that I need the money in my trip, he told me that they have already made the refund and this needs couple of days. But they were returned back immediately after we left the room in the checkout day, so the refund was made too late. Second, when we requested a late checkout, they charged us 20 euros per hour per room for this service. However, this is a bad attitude especially that there are many empty rooms in this big hotel.

The location was good, it is easy to access the city center by bus. The buses are very frequent and I recommend getting a leap ticket to use at the public transport. The staff were very friendly, the beds were comfortable and breakfast was a delight. The hotel bar also has very tasty cocktails and nice food. Not so many restaurants around the hotel but it's close enough to a spar ( convenience store ) in case you want to get snacks.

The only downside was that every time we had a shower we ended up flooding the bathroom because the protective glass was missing a rubber end that prevented the water from licking to the bathroom floor. Other than that we had a really good time in Dublin and at the hotel.

Location, decor, rooms size and iron etc Easy to get to and easy to check in Helpful when we were slightly late from airport Well staffed reception, friendly and efficient

The small pots of Milk supplied in the room were gone off, rotten& lumpy when we looked at the date we saw it had a use by date of July 2023! When we showed reception this and to ask for some fresh milk we were given this however we did not receive an apology, there was no reaction to it, acknowledgement or checks to make sure it was an issue.

Breakfast was wonderful although not clear that wasnt booked at time of booking so was additonal fee. Breafast could be ordered but not added to out hotel bill if we had not opened a tab . This was not explained when we arrived as we would have done so because we wanted breakfast. Breafast staff made us wait to get our card to pay which was embarrasing and also as I have oesteo arthritus in my knees it was a painful wait.

Only clarity re breafast ( as above) TV channels difficult to find live programmes. Explain that information about hotel,eg:breakfast times, facilities etc was a QR code on mirror - took us a while to realise.

Due to weather conditions, we had dinner in the hotel 3 nights out of 4 and food in the bar / restaurant was very good. Breakfast was also great with a fabulous range of choice. Our twin room was very comfortable & overall, we had a very comfortable stay.

Altho bed linen was spotless, the standard of the pillows left a lot to be desired as they were clearly quite old & lumpy. Bathroom was cleaned daily & towels changed, bins emptied etc.. However mould accumulated behind bath taps & on grouting should be addressed especially as appropriate cleaning products are readily available on the market.

Location was great- nice walk into the city Room comfortable and homely. I appreciated having a fridge Staff very attentive. I phoned reception a few times and staff came to assist me immediately i.e. bringing towels, room service food etc. Staff at breakfast very friendly, very attentive- excellent service Breakfast was delicious- scrambled eggs and grilled tomatoes very nice

I would have liked a few sachets of hot chocolate complimentary in the room, along with the tea and coffee packets The duvet was very thin. I had to ask reception for two more in order to make it warm enough.

Breakfast was awesome and Saul and Asta were prefect servers

Upon our leaving on September 18th 2023, I complained to the front desk staff member Jonathan, that our room 531 had blood stains and a smell of urine on the mattress cover when we arrived on the 15th. We had complained to a maid the next day and nothing happened. We took it directly to Jonathan, from Mexico, a front desk aid the second day of our stay and he stated that he note it. Prior to our departure, the manager, "Mahan", was apprised of this, despite his not being notified earlier by Jonathan, and Mahan agreed to grant us a one night credit on our room. To date, the credit is not reflected on my bill and it has been reported to my credit card company, UPGRADE, that has placed the whole bill in dispute until the matter is resolved. Michael King

The breakfast was excellent, however the service in the breakfast area was highly exceptional. In particular "Salu" is by far the most thoughtful & pleasant breakfast area manager, that I have ever had the pleasure to meet. I was under a serious time pressure on the second morning of my stay & Salu very thoughtfully provided me with a take away cup for my coffee, ... I didn't need to ask for the cup, but he instinctively knew that is what I required. This is the best level of service I have ever seen in an Irish hotel & as a result I will be providing repeat business to this hotel in the future. Thank you, for the excellent service !

The hotel was perfect

The staff were exceptionally helpful. I had an appt. at The Eye and Ear on Monday morning. One of the staff actually gave me a map with the route outlined for me (it was within walking distance of the hotel). Although the staff were extremely busy, they were friendly and did everything to make my stay a lovely experience. Only comment about the room, there was no reading light, well there was ,but it was in the bathroom.!!!! The lights in the room were just too dim to read. I stayed at the Clayton in Belfast last month, Dublin was a MUCH better experience.

As above, no reading light in bedroom. Didn't like the toilet roll holder, very close to the floor.

The staff were amazing! Professional, courteous and extremely helpful at all times in all areas of the hotel, especially in the breakfast room.

I booked for a group via booking.com and when I arrived the conversion rate on my booking for pounds to euros was different than what was charged by almost €200. I did query it but it apparently was the conversion rate of the hotel that put the price up. I had to then ask every member of the group for additional money which made me look disorganised and I was disappointed as the price on my booking should’ve been what was charged!!!!!! This was the only issue but it was a hugely disappointing and frustrating one 😔
