The bus from the Assisi train station stops 2 minutes walk from the hotel which is otherwise in a quiet neighborhood. Breakfast was plentiful. The front desk is not manned but in some mysterious way someone showed up within a minute or two whenever we needed assistance. This is our second or third time staying here and have always been satisfied.

There was a mix up with one of our rooms that resulted in a brief delay and required relocating 3 of our party to a place next door, but it was handled promptly and without drama. The hotel is at the very top of the hill so if you don't like to walk uphill you may get more exercise than you want, but then again, it is Assisi: everywhere you go requires a bit of a climb, it is part of the charm of this very special place.

If you're a fan of Italy's ancient castle towns, then Assisi should be on your list. As part of our brief trip to Umbria, this enchanting town completely won us over. Our hotel was perched in the upper part of the old town, offering breathtaking views of the mountains and the valley below. While the room was small, it was incredibly cozy, and the entire hotel exuded a perfect blend of old-world charm and modern comfort. Despite the building’s age, there were plenty of modern amenities—including a built-in elevator! I also appreciated the attention to fire safety throughout the property. And the buffet breakfast? The perfect way to kick off each morning. Assisi itself is packed with historical landmarks that could easily take days to fully explore—no surprise, as it's essentially the heart of the Franciscan order. Navigating the narrow streets of the old town by car was an adventure in itself. I’d recommend a small vehicle for this, but if you're not confident in tight spaces, there's convenient parking outside the old town walls. We absolutely loved our time in Assisi and our stay at Albergo La Rocca. It’s a must for anyone wanting to soak in the atmosphere of Umbria’s ancient towns.

Well, it is an Assisi, so it is already a great place. The location, at the top of the hill, is a few steps from the upper city bus stop from the train station. The facility was interesting, rooms clean and practical (bathroom a bit old school).

The staff were very competent and efficient, it is just that few of them smiled or engaged with any of us. Of course, no one is required to enjoy their clients, but it was unexpected and unlike any other experiences I've had in Assisi.

Wonderful location! Very clean and neat. The breakfast was good and the views were beautiful. It was a short walk into the town or up to the fort, La Rocca. Assisi is always a wonderful place to be and the Albergo la Rocca made it even better.

Friendly and helpful staff. Even though the hotel didn't have my reservation in the system, they made a lot of effort to find an accommodation for me. I was given a room in a different hotel of the same owner and had a great stay! Meeting Enrico and his sister was a pleasure! The room was clean and comfortable and it had a lovely balcony with an amazing view.

Everything was perfect and far exceeded any of our expectations!

No Tea/Coffee facilities in bedroom.(This was not a problem!).

Fabulous location in the main part of Assisi. Clean room. Excellent value with the surprise that a 3 course dinner was included in the price.
