Excellent breakfast. Very good room, elegant, on corner so with two aspects and good windows, good bathroom. Wide comfortable bed. Vary friendly and helpful staff. In particular Angelo, who supervised breakfast, was assiduous in helping us , my wife and myself, to a good table, good coffee. And we would also like to mention Alfred who both at breakfast and later in the bar in the evening, went to lengths to provide a good service, even though he was under pressure.

A common problem but surely not in a 4 start hotel: the bedside lamps were too low and too dim to allow for reading in bed. This really is a necessity. And although there was an electric kettle plus tea/coffee in sachets: -there were not enough sachets, if one wanted more than one tea a day. And the cups provided were paper!!! Totally unacceptable in a hotel with 4 start pretensions!!!!

Excellent location, friendly staff, buffet breakfast was reasonably good choice each day. Our room and bathroom was large and overlooked the south facing garden area so reasonably quiet with windows open.

Room air conditioning not effective, we were lucky it wasn't so much of an issue as peak temp was 25 degrees C in April however would be very uncomfortable in the summer. 2 of the many windows opened so that's a positive. Shower in room was great but to get to it you had to climb into an enormous corner bath :) wouldn't suit those with reduced ability.

The staff! From the server we had in the restaurant to the lady that checked us in, such friendly, helpful people. I was on a trip with my grandmother who has trouble walking, and they provided her with a great handicapped room and adjacent rooms for the rest of the family. They even helped me get a cab in the evening after I checked out. The location of the hotel is also incredible, as you step out onto the main shopping street from the entrance. From there, its only a short walk to many of Bologna's most iconic buildings. Really comfortable beds.

The rooms did not have convenient outlets near the nightstands for charging a phone. I would have liked ceramic cups for making tea in my room. Minor nitpicking, really.

Handy location, 5 min walk from train station, and 15 min walk from centre of old town. The breakfast buffet was good, with a nice variety of options, all of which seemed fresh. Better than many hotel buffet’s i’ve encountered. Internet signal was good in my room. Needed to “sign in” online every 24 hours to renew access but it’s a basic system where you can just enter a made up name and email address to get in; there is no password required.

Lifts are a bit slow - sometimes quicker to take the stairs. Not the hotel’s fault, but be aware you will be charged the “city tax” on top of the basic fee. It’s not much, but it is extra.

Very spacious rooms, comfortable beds even for the third person in a room (we've booked two triple rooms), baths were clean. We could have good rest in quiet, well kept and nicely decorated interior after few hours journey. Breakfast was nice surprise as there was quite a large selection of hot and cold. Also coffee was good. It's within 10 minutes walk form train station and also perfect base to look around old town.

As many other guests had mentioned: there was unnecessary confusion about extra tourist or city tax. While you pay via Booking.com you get an information that you've payed whole amount but at the check out they charge you extra few euros. Somehow I was prepared for that after reading other comments but still it would be easer to charge whole during the reservation process.

Room was large and comfortable and the hotel itself is very central. Overall a fine stay for a weekend break away.

The shower was quite small/dated and the hot water took around 10 minutes to kick in so we’d have to leave the shower running for a while before hopping in. The bed pillows smelled musty. We requested no house keeping but had the room cleaned on the first and third day which they did apologise about without being prompted to. Overall you can tell the hotel needs updating but can understand there’s no incentive for them to do so as they fully book up consistently due to their location. For the price we paid (1,300+ for 5 nights plus 40+ city tax presented to us on check out) we expected slightly better.

Location is great as it's easy to get to from the train station but also on a main street that's nice to walk along to get to the main Bologna area quickly. Rooms are very nicely furnished with small sofa, tea/coffee facilities and good TV channels including several SKY channels. Bathroom is very nice with a proper bath. Very quiet and peaceful rooms as can't hear other guests. Overall a very pleasant hotel.

The windows are fixed closed so you have to rely on the air conditioning system to control the temperature of the room. This system is old and (in my room) it made a clicking/rattling noise which was quite annoying. Lowest setting was ok but middle and high setting it was very loud so could not use it overnight when trying to sleep. Personally I found the rooms and hotel too warm (it was December so the heating was clearly on everywhere) so I was always trying to cool my room down, but I'm sure many people will find them fine. I always like to be able to open windows in hotels but I've been in many where they are fixed closed so it's nothing unusual, but the aircon system must be very good and quiet if the windows are going to be fixed shut.

One night for a work trip so this was really a flying visit and I didn't get to enjoy much of the locale, but the hotel was as expected, good efficient service at check-in and friendly. The room was fine for the price and the location is not too far from the train station and relatively central.

I paid the city tax the night before so that I could leave quickly, but the manager the next morning still insisted that I wait for the two confused customers who were ahead of me, and after 5 minutes (not terrible !) needed 5 seconds to let me go. It would be good to have an express checkout option.

Conveniently located between the centre and the train station, beautiful building and facilities, parts a bit aged but true to the hotel’s character, and old-fashioned hotel service. Would recommend depending on the rate offered.

Bar/ restaurant area and service lacking, not what you would expect of a 4* hotel. Also at reception I was given textbook answers and turned away when I asked for something simple, specifically I showed up earlier for check-in (1,5hrs) and asked if the room would by any chance be ready the staff there did not even bother looking into, just told me that check-in is at 2pm but they could store my luggage until then. Details and minor points but my expectations were for higher and better service.

Fantastic location midway between train station and Plaza Maggiore so ten minutes walk either way. Lovely welcome with plenty of local knowledge and excellent restaurant recommendations. Room was old-world charming overlooking the garden with a massive bathroom and comfortable bed. The linen and towels were a great quality. Cleanliness immaculate over the four nights we stayed. The aircon was slightly underpowered for our taste but not enough to mar our experience. Fabulous buffet breakfast - we chose to eat at the busiest time and found the staff efficient and constantly on the move to clear tables and replenish the food. Bologna is a wonderful city and we hope to return and would have no hesitation in staying here again.
