Without doubt the most magnificent palazzo in Bologna. Thanks to the most elegant and aristocratic hosts Piero a former art history expert and collector and Maria Christina the very stylish and elegant chatelaine of this amazing venue you are made to feel like a warmly welcomed weekend house guest in an art filled 15 th century palazzo. The interiors are exquisite seicento rooms with magnificent art and antique furniture. The breakfast room and the presentation of breakfast is exquisitely cinematic served by a lady in nineteenth century uniform and the food is magnificent. It’s rare when your accommodation outshines its location but it does here notwithstanding the ever present wonders of Bologna especially during art week. Rememicent of apartmenti napoleon in palazzo Ruspolli in Rome and locations such as la posta vecchia and il Falconiere this place is an absolute gem. We can’t wait to return are sure anyone with an interest in authentically restored and maintained period properties should not miss an opportunity to luxuriate in these elegant surroundings. Also the bed comfort and sheet quality in the suite is six star. Dr viranjes room scents complete the classically elegant ambience. An absolute joy!

Nothing except having to leave!

Spectacular location and design - a unique 1500s palace in the owner's family for years and years. Art, books, fabrics, furniture all tasteful and yet over the top renaissance sensibility. Superb breakfast with the most amazing fresh-squeezed orange juice I've ever had. The owners are living in their own on-property suite and very helpful with a car to our transportation and other questions.

The rooms really aren't air conditioned (I did not see any ductwork or way to turn on) and there isn't a fan to move the air. Luckily the weather was good in our mid-September stay so it wasn't terrible but with the windows wide open, we caught alllllll the street noise below. We had earplugs from the previous city so used those but know that this is a reality of an old hotel in a city where people are having a great time at the cafes and bars at night.

Breakfast was amazing, Close to the plaza and walking distance to many thing we were looking forward to seeing in Bologna. The art work in the residence and the furnishing were beautiful.

We had a slight difference on the length of the stay. I had requested a one night extension and was told it wasn't available for the two rooms we had, only one and that we would be informed if it changed. We didn't hear anything further and booked a different hotel for our last night. The proprietor was under the impression that we were staying and was upset when we checked out as planned. Perhaps better communication on both parts would have made it clearer and the language barrier was definitely a struggle at times.

Our visit was beyond exceptional. To stay in a bed and breakfast in a 500 year old former palace which was recently restored/renovated to its former glory was incredible. The European style breakfast was lavish with an array of cheeses, meats, cereals, and freshly baked croissants and breads and freshly squeezed orange juice and fruit. The location is very central to the historic town square and there are numerous restaurants close by. The experience was complemented by the grace and elegance of our host and hostess whose family has apparently owned the property since it was constructed.

Their home is exquisite, as was each bedroom. The rooms were really clean and they attended to them each day. The breakfast was amazing!! Not only did it have more meats, cheeses, fruits, and pastries than you could imagine, they also cooked eggs for all of us that wanted them (any style we wanted them). And the coffee was so good every morning, including the cappuccinos. The best part, however, were the owners and Nina who could not have been more helpful, knowledgeable, and attentive. We will absolutely stay here again whenever we are next in Bologna.

Nothing, it was the absolute perfect stay.

Just an amazing experience. The photos show you how beautiful the property is, but it gets even better. The location is perfect, a 5 minute walk to the main square but on a quiet street. The best part are the hosts, a wonderful couple who are so kind and hospitable. You feel like you are staying with family. The breakfast in the morning is exceptional, wonderful food and service. I now have several friends who are trying to book a stay here!

Absolutely nothing, other than we had to leave-I could have stayed here for a week!

Beautiful 14th century home that has been thoughtfully and immaculately updated with modern conveniences. We were greeted by the gracious owners and offered Prosecco and some delicious mortadella and cheese. Room was lovely, a little smaller than we anticipated, but the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was well appointed and modern. Breakfast was truly over the top delicious. Full European breakfast and option for eggs cooked to order.

I would have liked a teeny more space in the room and a bathtub for soaking after all of our walking. I believe that some of the rooms have tubs.

After a month long stay in Italy how wonderful it was to meet the gracious owners Cristina and Francesco, they warmly welcomed me into their beautiful home. I enjoyed an interesting chat as Francesco learned of my interests and provided me with historical information and places to visit. My morning breakfast was a delight, with something special for me to begin my day in Bologna. My bedroom was immense and opulent, with a comfortable bed, and sitting area. Location is perfect, a short walk to the center area with many shops, restaurants, and historical sites. This was the highlight of my visit to Italy, due to the great care and kindness of the hosts. Highly recommend, will recommend to everyone I know planning a stay in Italy. Con Molto Gazie!!

The Palazzo was beautiful and the hosts MariaCristina and Francesco were so warm, gracious and helpful, they were absolutely lovely. Breakfast was over the top generous and delicious, we couldn't begin to eat all of the fabulous offerings. The location was great - central and convenient, but quiet.

Perhaps we booked the smallest room in the hotel. If I had it to do again, I would have chosen a larger room with a window to the outside instead of the inner courtyard.
