Most importantly, I found the staff really friendly and ready to go the extra mile to help you out. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the breakfast is amazing, with a large variety of options, including cannoli, Sicilian granita, and berry and apricot pies. Although it is quite far away from the airport and the centre of Catania, there is a bus stop right outside the hotel with routes to the centre.

You have to pay to access the pool (at least in peak summer season) - something like €12 for a full day and €8 for a half day. The spa costs €25 per hour and must be booked in advance. Just make sure you know these details in advance before booking

Really good hotel with great breakfast. Location is really nice directly at the sea and short distance into Catania. We Reichshof liked the very clean and functional rooms and the very stylish lobby. Special thanks to the awesome cleaning staff - they cleaned and tidied up very well every day.

The staff at the waterfront was not nice at all and blaming us because of just standing around - and not renting a sun bed for additional 12 Euro per person per day. These extra costs were also necessary for the sun beds at the hotel pool, which didn't feel good - paying extra for hotel services, which should be included in the price. The pictures also only show newly renovated rooms. Our were still old, however, it was super clean and mostly well maintained.

Very pleasant and comfortable place to stay, the staff were welcoming, friendly and very helpful when it came to booking trips and taxis.

We found the evening restaurant menus were very limited in choice for my 13 year old son, as a result we only dined in the on-site restaurant twice during the course of our week-long stay. The hotel is also located in a slightly awkward location between Catania and Aci Castello, with no real amenities or shops within a reasonable distance. This is not a problem if you are reasonably fit and able, but families with children or older relatives might struggle to find much to do within the immediate vicinity of the hotel.

Charming pool area and warm wading pool, friendly and helpful pool staff. It was nice not to have to wear swim caps like most Italian pools. Connecting rooms with private vestibule door which could lock. Bathtub in my room. Wheelchair provided by hotel for uncle with limited mobility. Room well stocked with complimentary water, slippers, toothbrushes, pen/paper mini-bar/fridge. Beautiful view of the pool and sea with balconies. Clean room and comfortable bed, excellent climate control of the room. Excellent English from all staff! Attached monitored garage for a reasonable fee taking good care of expensive rental car and providing access to the car at all odd hours.

We did not get pool cards or an explanation of how to reserve loungers, however the pool staff was very helpful. It was weird that the pool snack bar was closed for food from 3-5. I was excited about the jacuzzi tub in my room but the jets did not turn on.

Great service, the staff is very kind and helpful, we enjoyed our stay. Very clean room with great view on the sea, we loved the pool, the spa and the gym, pieces of art everywhere in the hotel, everything was great Definitely coming back if we visit again Catania 😊

The hotel is placed in safe and good area with some good restaurants But it is very far from the city, 40min by bus. The hotel shuttle to Catania don't existe anymore...

we likes the location , the views of the sea, the art , the pool , the service down stairs , etc hair dressers , little gift shops, across from some amazing beach clubs . oh and the Breakfast was exceptional.

it could be a hit or a miss with some off the staff members , Some of the staff went above and beyond, like the lady at breakfast, Danta she was so friendly and helpful with our elderly mother . however the chap who drives the hotel taxi is rude and very disrespectful, please don’t use the taxi , if you have mobility issues or find it hard to climb into a vehicle without any step. we asked if he had a step and looked at me and said his vehicle is not for disabled people , my mother in law is not disabled she’s 85, I’m not disabled but I’m only 4’11, he was honestly so abrupt and rude.

Pool area was fantastic & connection to private beach club to go sea swimming was fab. Pool area was clean, shaded areas, pool lounge chairs brilliant. Relaxing area. Bed was very comfortable & room good size. Reception staff helpful. Clean.

Paying for car parking in hotel-should have been cheaper per day or in fact free. Hugely disappointed tennis court was closed. We were not informed of this until I asked at arrival how to book court. Tennis court was part of reason booked hotel. Small balcony furniture extremely uncomfortable to sit on, hard hot metal frame & if you did sit down you couldn't see the view as the shrubs/plants surrounding balcony blocked view- needs a trim.

Great hotel! We had a rocky start - the basic bedrooms are basic so recommend going at least one tier up if your budget allows. We opted to upgrade and the staff were incredibly accommodating, finding us a new room. Unfortunately there was an issue with the AC, but the technician came out straight away, and when the issue couldn’t be resolved we were moved again - no fuss! The staff on reception are fantastic, extremely professional and very approachable. Breakfast was worth paying for, I particularly loved the open bottle of Prosecco available for morning cocktails. We also enjoyed the bar of an evening, again staff cannot be faulted and the same can be said for the restaurant staff. We had a lovely meal on the terrace one evening. The hotel also has underground parking, which was the primary reason we chose the hotel. Again, the staff couldn’t do enough, we’re polite and always smiling.

Further out of town than I had fully appreciated, but not an issue if you have a car. The location of the hotel is on top of a few beach bars and clubs and can be loud. The hotel is, as advertised, an art hotel, it is hotel meets art gallery - which I personally loved but this also translates to some of the rooms. It may not be for everyone! (Personally, I kinda loved it).

Better than your average accommodation, and I can also say that the service was significantly better than what you can find for comparable prices in the hotels nearby. Check-in and check-out were seamless. Staff was professional, helped us with everything we needed. Breakfast was not included in our stay so we paid for it; the price was reasonable, as was the menu at the hotel's restaurant Il Timo. We noted that although the restaurant looked classy the prices were not exaggerated and the portion sizes were fine. Decent food variety, including seafood (for lunch and dinner). Outside, in the halls, in the room, at restaurant, or at the pool/beach – everything is of impeccable cleanliness. Sea water is clear, too. Access to the pool and the seaside platform is included in the stay, which, again, can't be said about all the other similar hotels nearby. The area is serviced by two municipal bus lines, their schedule is not frequent but manageable with good planning. An Uber to the center does not cost too much.

Disadvantages may perhaps be seen through one's expectations. For those who need immediate access to city's main landmarks, be aware that the hotel is not in the center. Distance to Catania's sand beaches is even greater – about 1.5 hours by public transportation. If you prefer sand beaches, note that hotel's beach is actually a wooden platform with stairs down to the sea, big rocks on the shore. Catania's sand beaches are far away. Otherwise sea water is very clean and the swim is quite enjoyable. No seafood at the breakfast, sorry :) There was a slight unpleasant odor in the bathroom when we first entered the room, but it disappeared quickly.

The rooms were good, had all you needed and comfy beds. Best of all they had little balconies with a view to the sea. The hotel is good in that there is a lot of art to view, the majority of the staff are helpful, pool and pool bar are a nice facility and breakfast was excellent with lots of choice and all good quality.

Check in staff were sour and didn't advise upon checkin as to facilities available etc. We found our way around and worked it out so that's fine. Luckily one of the desk staff was happier to recommend suitable options and the restaurant and pool staff were friendly & helpful.
