The hosts were fantastic, very friendly, and responsive. The room was spacious with a good view (granted, you could see railroad tracks, but also the green hills). Nice bathroom, lots of hot water. All very clean and had everything I needed, including fridge, kettle, cutlery, towels, heat, etc. The roof deck was a nice place to hang out. Great wifi. Tram into tourist area of Florence almost right across the street. A couple of decent pizza/trattorias, a delicious halal pita place, and best of all the sandwich place you see in my photos, are within easy walking distance.

Not a huge problem, but the room just had too much going on visually -- pictures, signs, stuff. Overall, decor could use a bit of a refresh, but I got used to the warmth of the dated vibe. Overhead lighting was a bit harsh, and the only other lighting in the room were bedside lamps. A simple fix would be to add a table lamp. The bed was fine to sleep on, but a bit stiff.

We had a very pleasant stay at Alla Dimora Altea. From the airport, it is very easy to reach by tram (literally a 1-minute walk away from a stop) which also meant that the city was very easily reachable. We arrived quite late by plane, but our host Niccolò gave us all the information through WhatsApp about how we could find our room and see ourselves in. In general Niccolò is an amazing host. Furthermore, the bed was really nice and having a rooftop gave a nice opportunity to have breakfast outside.

Its location is slightly noisy with the windows open due to the close proximity to the train tracks. However, the trains stopped running at around 23:00, and with the windows closed (using the AC) it was perfectly serviceable.

Niccolo is a wonderful host, he was very helpful and caring. He was wonderful to advise us with our trip destinations as well as giving us very helpful tips on how to get around. It is a beautiful location close to historic city center. It is very close to the train station to travel to the countryside. It is right by the tram station which is two stops away from the historic city center. The property is very clean and has a beautiful roof top for relaxation. Overall, it was the most relaxed and beautiful stay in Florence.

Niccolò was a great host, very welcoming and kind. The room was spacious and comfortable, and it was very nice to have a bottle of wine to enjoy. Even though it was stormy when I arrived, once the sun came out I enjoyed sitting on the balcony with my book and a glass of wine. The location was ideal – it was easy to walk into town in 15 minutes and close to restaurants and cafes. Bed had a comfy mattress, and the mini fridge was really useful for keeping my water in. It was also very convenient being able to message Niccolò to ask questions before I arrived – it made me feel much less nervous about my trip!

It would have been good to have a safe in the room to leave valuables when going out for the day. Also, there isn't really soundproofing so if you're a light sleeper I'd recommend earplugs in case other guests aren't quiet.

The six-story residential building, Alla Dimora Altea, is located on the 6th floor, and there is an elevator. The room is clean and pleasant, with a comfortable bed. It's cleaned every day, and there is a small capsule coffee machine; capsules are also replenished daily, along with a small refrigerator. Air conditioning is available, allowing for the adjustment of the desired temperature. Niccolo, the administrator, is very friendly and helpful. We arrived late and had a self-check-in, but his instructions made everything simple and clear. Also, the building is seemingly quite close to the center (1.5-2 km) - in the warm and dry months, it's possible to walk, but we were there in February, and it rained all the time, so we took the tram for 2 stops from Belfiore station to the Unita terminal. The ticket costs 1.70, and it can be purchased from the machine at the stop. Good Wi-Fi.

For some reason, we were given a room without access to the shared terrace, which truly has a beautiful view. The room number 6 - the only room that does not open onto the terrace, although it has a mini-balcony too. It overlooks the numerous railway tracks of the Santa Maria Novella station. The balcony has 3 types of doors, which ensure quietness in the room. However, if you are a light sleeper, there might be some nuances. There were other nuances too - apparently, other rooms for tourists are located behind the wall, and the sound insulation is very poor - a couple of times at night, we were awakened by noise and voices. Probably, this problem does not exist in other rooms that open onto the shared terrace. Consider that there are no supermercato nearby to buy food.

As others have said, the proprietor, Niccolo, is excellent at making you feel welcome while also providing an environment where you can relax and take the city at your own pace. The room is spacious, well-equipped, and full of classic, thoughtful additions. There is a minibar and coffeemaker that is stocked every day, as well as a bottle of wine; the prices for all of these things are very, very reasonable (as opposed to 90% of hotel minibars that exist to rip you off). There are not many choices nearby as far as convenience stores or dining, but there is a great little pizzeria a couple blocks away, and the tramway out front can get you to the main touristy part of Florence within a few minutes. Will definitely stay here next time we're in Florence!

As mentioned above, the location was not optimal. If you want to see Ponte Vecchio or the Uffizi Gallery, it's going to take a while to get there. If you want those things in your backyard, stay somewhere else. Having said that, I would still stay here again in a heartbeat. It was great to crash after a long day of touring. At the end of our stay, we were able to get to Santa Maria Novella (the main train station) within 15 minutes when we needed to leave in a hurry!

Niccolò is one of the friendliest most helpful hosts I have ever had the pleasure of stopping with. The room is clean and although basic it is comfortable and has everything you need. The rooftop terrace is a lovely place to sit and relax with a beer or glass of wine. The T2 tram stops about 100m from the front door and will get you to the centre of Florence (Unità) in under 10 minutes. At this price it is outstanding, I will definitely stop here again when I return to Florence.

Not really any downsides at this price level.

The location is good, the tram station is right in front of the building and the train station also not to far to walk. The host Nicolo is a very nice person, who tries to help you with whatever you need and tries to give you the room you like. The first big reason to get a room here is the terasse obviously. The breakfast is some croasants, jams and crunchy bread in the plastics, which you get every day in your room. But you get what you pay.

One big minus: the room we had, had own door to terasse, which was great, but you can not half open the door or the windows, so we didn't have fresh air during night, cause we didn't feel like sleeping with whole open door, cause the terasse is shared with everyone.

The balcony was nice for fresh air and great views. The room was clean and the bed was good with memory foam type pillows. The was a little frig stocked with beer, water, and wine. There was a nice pod type coffee maker was every thing you need to make a great espresso or coffee. Snacks and pastries were provided in a basket with small plates and silverware. The air conditioning was cold! Niccolo the property manager was so awesome! He was Very accommodating and can provide you good info about the city. We loved our time there great value.

The room is a BnB accommodation on one floor of an older building in town. It was not much to look at from the outside, but only 5 min walk from train station. It was about a 20 min walk to the city center.

Lovely, clean, comfortable room and super friendly and helpful host. So nice and close to the tram and an easy walk to town centre and the train. Perfect location for exploring.

The terrace is an added bonus but users beware that the doors can’t be opened from outside if someone shuts them from inside. We were shut out there for a couple of hours when another person went back inside and shut and locked the door. We had no phone with us and no one was home in the rooms that open out onto the terrace. Luckily someone eventually heard us.
