I had a wonderful time at Hotel Angelino. A down-to-earth family run hotel right on the sea. My room was big, clean and comfortable with the most incredible view. I fell asleep to the sound of the waves every night. The staff were friendly and helpful, I felt very safe and welcomed. I loved that the hotel exuded old school character rather than modern sterility. Just some information for anyone thinking of walking to the hotel instead of taking the water taxi from Maronti. Currently, the pathway only extends to the Hotel Gondola, the last stretch is sand only. That's not a problem if you have a backpack, but with my sadly heavy luggage, I got stranded there. I made a quick call to the hotel and they very kindly came to my rescue and helped me get my bags in. I would recommend to get a water taxi for 3 Euros at Maronti beach (from the bus stop, once you come down the stairs, straight in front of you on the beach). Mention you need to go to the stop 'Cavascura', which is the next stop along the beach and it will take you straight to the hotel Angelino. It's fine to walk back and forth without luggage along the beach and pathway to Maronti though and I often caught the bus up to the port from there or the water taxi across to Sant Angelo for day trips. I look forward to visiting again one day in the future.

We liked everything. The staff was really friendly and they also understood English really well. The hotel was right at the beach, so you can hear the waves when you sleep. The temperature in the room was nice, not too hot, not too cold. If you want to move around you can always order a taxi-boat. It's 4 euros per person if you want to go to St. Angelo. We had so many places we wanted to visit in this island, but we ended up mostly just chilling at the beach - It was truly relaxing and we loved our vacation very much.

I hope that people who read the reviews understand that getting to the hotel is really difficult, maybe they should not come with a suitcase, because there is no road to the hotel - just sand. We knew that but we still saw people with suitcases. All the restaurants at the beach closed before dinner and also the boat-taxi didn't work after it got dark, so there was no place to get anything to eat. But you can get food from the hotel as well, or there is a pizza place next to the bus station in Maronti. There is also no supermarkets in the walking distance.

absolutely loved this hotel! my first nights in Ischia, I stayed at the Miramare. But I wanted to explore the island and get out of the resort vibe. I chose Hotel Angelino because of the beautiful beach location and it was so worth it. The balconies set one on the water with the most gorgeous views. It is a quaint hotel with a family vibe. The family was so incredibly nice, especially because I do not speak Italian. My stay was so special and memorable. Thank you!

My only note is that the Hotel is a bit of a challenge to get to especially if you have luggage or any type of physical challenge which might prevent you from walking/carrying your luggage on the beach for a 7 minute walk. Also Google maps is not accurate so I recommend getting to the Maronti bus stop during daylight hours, and simply asking people where the hotel is. It is all the way at the end of the beach toward St. Angelo. May be a good idea to pack light so getting there is not such a hassle. That said, it is well worth it. My only regret is that I couldn’t stay longer.

I love this hotel so much. It is simple, but that is part of the beauty. I wouldn’t change anything about it. Staff are amazing, view was incredible, I enjoyed the food. Every morning you could jump straight into the ocean. Usually I like to spend my holidays exploring but I spent all my time here because it was so nice and I never wanted to leave. My advice is don’t bother with a car and don’t bring much luggage- to get to the hotel you have to walk along the beach. They kindly gave me a lift in the boat when I left so pack light if you can. Will be coming back to ischia just to stay here again. There was no AC but the fan was enough to keep me cool (and it was very hot/heat wave while I was there!)

Wow, wow, wow. Location is amazing. We had a room with a balcony which was huge. Amazing views. Right on the water. Bed was fine, bathroom fine (shower pressure very low), towels, bathroom products supplied. Room light and airy. Owners were very friendly. Breakfast was great. Just be prepared to walk along part wooden planks and part beach to get there. Yes you will have to carry your bags! There is. Water taxi available if needed for a price but honestly wasn’t that hard! Used the bus t9 get around, also hired scooters one day - lots of fun. Walk over to Sant Angelo about 20-30 minutes and extremely up and down hill. We walked nearly every day. No food or convenience store nearby (Sant Angelo) so eat food at the hotel was lovely, or along at one of the other restaurants along the water.

Shower pressure was almost non existent.

Hosts. Johnny Raphaella and Martina were very welcoming. Great hosts. Raphaella cooking and baking. The proximity to the water. The thermal pool. Cleanliness of the room. Personnel were very obliging and kind. Lack of road noise as no road! No hordes of tourists. Facility to walk over the hill at the back or water taxi to Saint Angelo. Plentiful restaurants nearby as well as the hotel restaurant.

Access, especially in rough weather as couldn’t use water taxi. Really unsuitable as it requires going over the hill or over rocks on the beach. Need to be fit and healthy but still a real hazard. Old bathroom, especially the shower pressure, the fact it was over the bath with an old curtain. The smoke from other visitors who insisted on smoking on their doorstep or in front of their room on the large shared deck at 06:00 and as late as 23:00. The smoke permeated the bedroom immediately.

Beautiful location and exceptional views of Maronti beach and St Angelo. The rooms were spacious and clean. Balcony overlooking the ocean. There is a small sunbathing deck with stone steps leading right into the ocean. This is beautiful but be careful as the steps are slippery. The breakfast was really generous with delicious home baked cakes. You can have eggs on request. The evening meals were the most delicious we had on our whole trip! The family that run the hotel are really friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much and Johnny even fixed my broken headphones! As the hotel is situated along the far end of Maronti beach, we had requested help getting there with our luggage, which was done at no extra cost. Taxi boat stops outside hotel to go to St Angelo which is nice for a look around but expensive. This is an idyllic, relaxing retreat.

We liked everything. However it was very hot when we were there so be prepared for no air con! We were provided with an extra fan when we requested this so not an issue. The hotel is basic and still very much as it was in the 70s, but for us, this added to the charm! There is no beach area at the hotel but we hired sunbeds further down the beach. They cost about €30 euros for 2 with an umbrella. There is the thermal pool at the hotel but it is only reachable by a very steep sloped hill and my Mum was not able to manage that. It looked lovely though.

It is a very quiet peaceful hotel in the Island. If you want to be isolated then it is a good choice. The rooms are right directly opening to the sea. When you are sleeping you only hear the waves. I stayed there for 4 nights and it was amazing. The staff is friendly and very welcoming. The room was clean and had all amenities. I worked from there so I can confirm that the WIFI works well. The bathroom was clean as well. They have a daily room service. The prices of the restaurant are very cheap.

The wooden made road ends at Hotel Gondola. Then you have only the beach/sanda to reach there. It is a bit though if you have heavy luggages. There is a taxi boat runs from the bus station so i would recommend to take this 5€ per person. Also the food of the hotel is not very vary and tastes like “italy”. The menu has pretty much everything but not always. There are also a lot of mosquitoes. So take some spray 100% otherwise you would die there.

Nice secluded location. All rooms are directly above the breaking waves. The sound is so relaxing and Therapeutic to fall to sleep listening to nature. Staff are friendly and will do anything to help. This was a 2nd visit for me. Loved it 8 years ago and love it still now Scooter rental is available from the newsagents where the bus or taxi drops you off. It's brought there from speedy rentals So it's a reliable upto date machine €35 From 9am to 9am the following day. Ps The hotel has a beautiful secluded thermal pool behind it. There is a steep walk to get there But it's worth it

You may have read that the hotel is a the end a the beach And you have to walk to get to the hotel. This is true But in the main This is a really nice walk. If you contact the hotel they will send someone to collect any luggage. The walkway is a mix of concrete path or wooden walkway. The last 100 metres is undergoing some work. Firstly the cliff is having securing netting replaced so the wooden walkway has been temporarily removed while the work goes on. The only option is to then walk on the beach. Again the hotel may be able to advise you on when this work has been completed so that the walk to the hotel is easier

I enjoyed a private view on the sea from the 3d floor from my balcony. Literally, private sea and beach in this meaning, that the hotel is located on the beach 🏖️. It can't be better, views you see - 180 degrees of the sea, left hand Maronti beach, right hand Fumarole beach and Sant Angelo. And sound of the sea makes you feel calm. The room itself was ok. Behind the building you have to climb a little left and up to reach small hotel thermal pool. Use it, the waters there make you healthy. Then you must know, that there's Cavascura terme just about 3 min to walk. Cavascura is one of the oldest thermal natural places in Italy. This water makes magic with skin and health. Very hot thermal water is coming from underground to caves, and one of cave is using as a natural hot sauna. Ticket to Cavascura costs 20 EUR minimum price. From the hotel you can go hike to Sant Angelo through Apollon thermal park, or you can take a boat for 3 EUR if don't want to walk, or you can easily get to Maronti beach.

Mosquitoes, once I forgot to close the balcony before dinner, and I couldn't sleep, I was busy with killing mosquitoes. Don't know, it should be a solution for it, to put some removable cover on the balcony frame.
