This was the second of the two phases I had planned for my second visit to Campania. I arrived from Napoli totally unprepared for the isolation of Sant’Angelo, but found out soon that the Neapolitan life merely takes up a more pastoral turn, but remains the same in essence. I have so many nice things to say about the place that a few lines cannot be sufficient. The room is simple but comfortable, and the balcony is one that you will wish you could own, but far above anything else the hospitality of the three sisters who own the place has added infinitely to the dolce of the stay. After selling my heart during the ecstatic days of Napoli, their homely welcome and the calming sound of the waves nursed it back to sanity—not completely, but enough so that I could begin to ruminate on the oriental quality of the trip. I mainly saw two of them, Angela and Maria, at my arrival, at breakfast, and during the day; and since I was travelling alone and always had an urge to talk, naturally I found myself interacting a lot with them. The sisters speak Italian and German, and with my beginner’s Italian and broken German we could make it work quite well. Every morning, these simple conversations started my days afresh. There is nothing pretentious or mercantile about them, and you can be friends if you want to. Really recommended for those that seek a hearty welcome and homely comfort during their holiday.

Villa Egidio is absolutely perfect! It is very clean, comfortable and in a great location with the best view over the bay. The rooms are lovely, you get your own personal balcony and the place feels like home. Thebreakfast every morning is HUGE , you will not be able to finish!!! I really can't recommend this place enough. Sant Angelo is gorgeous and everyone should book with Villa Egidio 😍
My only SMALL complaint is that the wifi doesn't reach upstairs.

What a gem of a hotel! The location was great, an easy walk down to the village, the taxi drop off area, restaurants, and just to wander around. The owners, the sisters, were the most welcoming and helpful hotel owners ever. I really enjoyed talking to each of them and we're thankful for all their help with ferries the day we left. They also served a wonderful breakfast each morning. My husband is gluten free and lactose free and they made sure he ate well. Our room had an amazing view, including seeing Capri in the distance. We loved sitting on our balcony enjoying the serenity. Our bed was very comfortable and our shower was great, you actually had room to move around, unlike many other places we've stayed. We look forward to returning to this hotel and this area, it was stunning and very relaxing!
We were there early season, so ferrys from Forio, the closest ferry location were cancelled both directions randomly the two days we needed them due to wind/high waves, so it was a longer taxi, more expensive, to get to the main port on the island. Not a big deal, just a little more of an inconvenience. Thankfully the owners of the hotel were able to alert us the ferry was cancelled heading back to Naples, so we were able to plan accordingly.

One of the most hospitable places we have ever stayed anywhere in the world - Maria & Angela went out of their way to make us feel at home. I'm half Italian and they made the experience so special, making me feel like I was at home with my mum! Beautiful rooms, the most stunning breakfast (with gorgeous homemade cakes!) and a perfect location (if you like to be away from the masses and look at a beautiful view along the coast of the island). We cannot recommend Villa Egidio highly enough and would definitely come back if we're in Ischia again :)

Amazing accommodation with the sweetest and friendliest hosts! We felt very welcomed and well taken care of on our arrival when we were greeted with a bottle of cold water and homemade apple cake. Our room was clean, spacious and well equipped for both shorter and longer stay. Views from the balcony were breathtaking, facing Capri and the Maronti Beach. The facility had a shared kitchen which was great as we were able to enjoy some of the dinners on the balcony. Exceptional breakfast! A big variety of foods from savory to sweet and fantastic homemade pastries, fresh fruits and marmelade. Incredibly peaceful and memorable place that we'd highly reccommend!

It was wonderful to stay in a place with such friendly hosts, who were interested in daily conversation. We were also grateful for a garden room with outdoor space for the kids to play. In the bay of Sant'Angelo was a perfect sheltered beach for little kids.
Villa Egidio was fantastic. Ischia was a little run down behind the scenes and we had been hoping for better walking routes. We were also a little unlucky with the weather in the week we chose and sea was too rough to take taxi boats, but that can happen anywhere.

Incredibly warm and congenial hosts - great advice on what to visit, where to eat, and how to travel around the island. The breakfast was delicious, generous, and full of homemade baked goods (anything left was wrapped up and handed over along with a large bottle of water, leaving me prepared for the day - truly warm and caring hosts). The room was impeccably clean and very comfortable, and the sea view balcony was even better than the pictures. I hope to return and bring family along next time.

We arrived very late at night from a long journey, and were welcomed with a cold beer and a bottle of cold water by one of the three charming and hospitable sisters running the place. The morning after we discovered we had the most spectacular view from the balcony, facing Capri and the Maronti Beach described in Elena Ferrante's novels (eventually not the same in the series). The balcony is lovely in the afternoons also with the shadow and calm see breeze. The space is spotlessly clean and you will enjoy courful tiles in Ischia- style everywhere. The room is equipped with air-condition and in addition a fan in the roof that made our stay so comfortable. Also there is a small common area with a kitchen table and a fridge where you can store something cold to drink for the evening. Breakfast is Italian style with cakes, and home made orange mermelade and strong, Italian coffee. We also got boiled eggs from their own hens and plums and cherries from their own production. Ten points for the sisters who were always helpful providing us with an umbrella for the sun and lots of advice for our stay. In this part of Sant' Angelo there are no cars- instead they have small golf- cars providing lifts both for you and your suit case. Walking distance to beaches, restaurants and the small centre of Sant' Angelo make everything complete. If you would like to enjoy a peaceful place, free from noise and stress, this is the place. With these lovely people and surroundings you have no option, you will stress down immediately. We will highly recomend this place!

Perfect location, beautiful view, high standard of cleanliness, perfect hosts and beautiful cakes. The sisters couldn’t do enough to make me feel so welcome. 5 minute walk down to a lovely beach, in season there is a water taxi from the village to Maronti beach. I took the local bus to visit Forio and Ischia Porto - but was always glad to come back to the spectacular view and delightful village. I hope I will return. Thank you
Nothing - only wish I could have stayed much longer

Really loved staying at Villa Egidio. Awesome friendly and helpful hosts, amazing view from the balcony, and a great Italian breakfast. Bonus was the shared kitchen facilities which were handy (we had a dinner on our balcony one night). Short 8 min walk to a great beach (Dei Maronti, €15 for 2 people for half a day), and short 5 walk to the town where there is a small supermarket, restaurants, gelato. It's a 12 min walk from the bus stop which is up and down but has amazing views along the path. We will definitely plan to go back in the future.
