We had a warm welcome when we arrived. The staff were attentive but not intrusive and we never felt rushed. The location is amazing, with beautiful views of the lake and mountains beyond. A lovely choice of foods at breakfast and the opportunity for early or late times. This is a medium sized hotel but had retained it's traditional feel while offering excellent facilities.

With the age of the property, not a surprise that the floorboards in our room were quite squeaky. We were above the restaurant, so this did not disturb others. We didn't hear noise from other rooms, so were not disturbed by others moving around.

Located right on the lakefront, with a pool, air-conditioned room. We had the double room lakeview room with a big balcony, two tables and a chair on it. Beautiful view of the lake. Hotel is conveniently located, just left three minute walk and you're at the ferries, turn right three minute walk and you're at the lake shore promenade and little center in Menaggio. Breakfast was really good, and you're sitting with a lakeside view as well. Big breakfast. Rooms were very comfortable, shower is snug, like taking a shower in a telephone booth snug, but good water pressure and steady temperature, plus with the smaller shower there is more room for you to be and move in the bathroom. Bed was firm, but comfortable. Hotel staff were nice. Nice place. Enjoyed our stay

Oh my God, the view from the balcony ... It was amazing!!! Central location, close to everything next to the lake. All the hotel was ok, probably in high-season is more busy in and out, but in October it was very calm. Everything was clean, comfortable - coffee, tea, water in the rom. Breakfast has everything what you need. There is a really good and cheap pizzeria nearby. If one day we come back, definitely will choose it again.

The noise from upstairs. Cannot figure out how heating works, but in the end we didn"t need it.

The restaurant breakfast room has a spectacular immediate view onto the water. The staff on duty were efficient and helpful.

Well that lies with booking .com. I was travelling with my 2 children and myself. I needed 2 rooms for 3 people. All good and the hotel followed through 100%, on the close together request- they were next door to each other. The booking App could not set that I wanted 3 breakfasts and not 4 included in my room rate! So I took 1 room with breakfast and the other without. The App needs a tweak here. It's simply wasteful to have a hotel expect more people eating than not- it's not really about the 40 Eu, especially so out of season.

Superb hotel right on Lake Como in Menaggio! Everything about our stay here from customer service to the rooms and the views have been excellent. The staff are so helpful and accomodating. Our room had the most spectacular large balcony overlooking Lake Como and the rooms are spotlessly clean and well-equipped with modern amenities. Restaurant del Porto feels like a fine dining restaurant at dinner time without the inflated prices and at breakfast time, it’s relaxed and well catered.

Everything exceeded our expectations

What an experience! We had a room with a balcony and lake view (a definite must). 2min walk to the square. We preferred being a bit away from the busy square to experience the peaceful serenity of the lake. We enjoyed coffee and croissants each morning on the balcony (went down to the restaurant to buy coffee on our room number). The pool was stunning and with our perfect weather in April we spent an afternoon enjoying the sun at the pool. Staff were very friendly and helped us with the public transport timetables (which is a bit confusing in Italy). Room was also very spacious. Would highly recommend this stay.

Would recommend umbrellas at the pool (but think they're in the process of getting them, hopefully this is sorted for the summer season approaching). Nothing else!

Just a short walk from Menaggio water ferry stop. Located near all the restaurants and there is a Pharmacy across the street from hotel. Can enjoy lake view from the balcony no need to go anywhere.

Folding shower door does not have long leg and therefore water leake from bottom during shower. Toilet paper holder is in EXTREMELY AWKWARD location where ONLY a contortionist can reach. Able to turn AC but NO air came out. Elevator is quite small and bed are much smaller than US TWIN bed (approx 30" wide) :-(

While standing, the view from our balcony from the near shore to the opposite shore across the lake to Varenna with Bellagio in between was expansive and beautiful. We also liked that the balcony was long enough to have a table and chairs with even more room to spare.

From our balcony we had hoped to be able to see below us to the lake from our chairs. However, the bottom half of the balcony was a solid wall. Not being very tall, I had to use a cushion on my balcony chair to be able to get a clear view across the lake, which worked out well enough for me. From the Internet pictures, it didn't appear to us the balcony wall was that high.

We absolutely loved staying at Bellavista. It's a 3 minute walk from the Menaggio ferry terminal and close to the bus station that took us to Lugano train station. The car/walk on ferry, the passenger ferry and the fast ferry/hovercraft all left from the Menaggio Terminal. While the hotel was a little old in some areas, i.e. the hallways, our room was renovated very clean and had everything we needed. Whilst the bathroom was a little dated it was very big and clean and we couldn't complain. The biggest surprise was the incredible lake front location and views from our balcony. What a treat it was to see the super moon rising above the lake! Dinner in the restaurant was delicious and the breakfast whilst a small selection compared to other buffets it more than satisfied us with pastries, bacon, eggs, fruit, cheese, juice, tea and coffee etc. Menaggio is a lovely little town which is less busy than Verenna and Bellagio which was very much appreciated. There are lovely restaurants & some shops about a 2 minute walk from the hotel. You will not regret staying here given the location for the price compared to other lake front hotels.
