The hotel is lovely and the workers there are very accessible and helpful. Many of the sights are easily walkable. and are also quite popular so reservations for tours should be planned for, and I didn’t get to see THE LAST SUPPER for lack of a reservation. The breakfast spread is excellent and the free drink each night is also a nice feature. I chose the Grand Duca diYork to pamper myself during my final 3 nights in Italy and i wasn’t disappointed!

No Complaints

The hotel is really close to the Dome, 5-10 minutes walk. The neighbourhood felt safe (Bank of Italy is right next to it, as well as other bank headquarters). At night the streets were quiet. All the major attractions in the center of Milano are at ~30 minutes walk: Duomo, Cenacolo Vinciano, Galleria Vittorio and the neighbouring shopping places, Naviglio bars and restaurants. The building is nice and clean, personnel was careful. The small details made a difference: free bottle of water, possibility to borrow umbrellas if the weather is not so good, capuccino and italian coffee in the morning. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, the room was clean and taken care of daily. We appreciated the breakfast pastry, a wide selection.

The room feels a little outdated. Could use new wallpaper, scratched here and there (the lightning in the room was great though, with lamps all around). The bathroom was clean, but it had a bathtub, the appliances were outdated (worked well though and we appreciated the bidet). The biggest minus is the walls. They are not so insulated, so sounds from neighbouring rooms can be heard. Even conversations at regular voice. Luckily, we heard no yelling, probably being an adults only hotel. Breakfast was ok, but please change the recipe for eggs, and pay more attention on how bacon is cooked :) ).

This hotel treats it guests like royalty. You are provided a a free mini bar which is restocked, every day with mineral water, juices, and sodas. Every evening between 18:30 and 20:00 guests are invited to have a glass of wine or Prosecco along with nuts, chips and olives in the lobby. Breakfast was outstanding and consisted of: juices, hard boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, American bacon, high quality Prosciutto, cooked ham, bresaola, croissants- plain and chocolate, yogurt, fresh fruit of the season (strawberries, kiwi, and pineapple) served in individual cups, cereals, many Italian toasts (individually wrapped), yogurt, the list goes on, and, individually prepared coffees of your choice (lattes, cappuccino, etc.). The staff was great. They assisted in making appointments, getting cabs, and recommending places to eat. The room was average size and the bathroom was excellent. Shower, toilet, bidet, and sink, along with towels and toiletries. The room was serviced every day. The hotel is located within minutes of a major shopping district, the Galleria, The Doumo di Milano, museums, and restaurants. In particular I would like to mention the breakfast staff and front desk staff for their great service and congenial attitude.

No instructions on how to operate the air conditioning and heating.

The location was quiet, but still easy walking distance to attractions and restaurants. The free breakfast was the one best we've seen worldwide. An incredible spread. The bar and bartenders was wonderful. Great variety, service, and even snacks. The front desk was very helpful and even made reservations for us. Free still water in room, and more still water and Pellegrino in the lobby, with snacks, also free. The room was cozy and quiet, with walk-in shower. Housekeeping was excellent. We would definitely return, and highly recommend it.

Nothing to not like.

Location was excellent - just a few minutes walk to most attractions. Large breakfast buffet. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was pretty spacious. We were happy to have the complementary nonalcoholic drinks in the room’s mini-fridge and the snacks in the lobby area.

These are observations but we were mostly fine with these. Elevators are small and somewhat old - which is as expected in a historic building in Italy, though. Too bad there isn’t a restaurant onsite. Once or twice, we had mosquitoes in our room. The tub/shower can be a bit difficult to get into as the sides are high.

The room was well appointed with its own private terrace. Well insulated windows kept out all city noises. The front desk staff as well as the breakfast staff were welcoming and courteous at all times. The breakfast was delicious with ample choices from light fair to hearty offerings. We especially enjoyed the evening wine and snacks. The hotel is located minutes from all the main sites including the Duomo and Santa Maria delle Grazie (Di Vinci’s Last Supper). It is located next door to the Biblioteca Ambrosiana, an often overlooked site worth visiting.

This is a lovely hotel very close to the Cathedral and Quadrilateral. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable, the room was nice sized and overlooked a courtyard. The breakfast was exceptional and all the staff were pleasant and accommodating. There is a 'happy hour' every evening at 6 pm in a charming wine bar just off the main lobby. This was our first trip to Milan and our hotel did not disappoint. It was a lovely haven to return to after long days walking around this beautiful city. I hope to return to Milan, and if we do, we will stay here again.

We could hear street noise because we sleep with the windows open. Frankly, I find it charming to hear people laughing and talking as they walk home after an evening out or singing joyously after a football win, I love the sounds of life. But, if you are fussy about your sleep patterns, you may want to ask for an internal room.

This is a great property to stay at with plenty of unexpected additions like special chocolates delivered to our room as a welcome with a personalised card. The inclusion of soft drinks and water in the mini bar every day. The glasses are real as is the crockery. (Usually plastic in other Italian hotels). Location was fantastic just around the corner from the main attractions and lots of good restaurants and cafes in the area.

Unfortunately the breakfast staff are very rude and not very friendly. All other staff were fantastic.

The hotel is in a very central location, just 5 minutes from the Duomo, yet situated on a quiet street. The room was comfortable, clean, and well-planned, with ample space for suitcases so they didn’t block the passage. It featured a queen-size bed with three pillows for each of us, two bedside tables, and a table with two chairs. There was a kettle with tea bags, and the drinks in the fridge were complimentary. The air conditioning worked well, and the WiFi was reliable. The room also had a safe. Excellent breakfast. Plenty of choice. I liked a variety of cheese, bakery. Fruits. Juice, good coffee. Etc etc The staff were responsive, attentive, and kind. We even received a welcome drink in the evening.

The only downside was a slight smell of smoke in the room, likely from a previous guest. We didn’t complain as the smell was light and we were too lazy to move to another room.

The location was perfect and a really easy walk to and from the cathedral and the bars and restaurants. It was a touch expensive but relative to the rest of Milan it was very reasonably priced for the location it was. The room was very comfortable and the bed was really good. I slept very well and it was very quiet. The hotel is slightly removed from all the hustle and bustle of central Milan but only by 10 minutes walking and it made such a difference. Definitely would recommend and return.

It could get quite full at breakfast time and not everybody fitted in the breakfast room but I can't think of how they could do more to accommodate this. The staff definitely did their best to fit people in.
