The hotel is located in a quiet, upscale suburban neighbourhood with nice eateries and parks nearby. It was a short walk to a few different attractions like museums and art galleries, and a slightly longer (but still very manageable) walk to the city centre. We travelled by train, so had to take a taxi to the hotel, but would definitely stay in or around this area of Milan again. Staff at reception were friendly, efficient and quick to offer us coffee/tea if we were waiting in the lobby for any reason. Our room was clean and comfortable, and had windows that actually opened (I always prefer this if possible). The breakfast buffet had a good selection and staff made sure it was kept well stocked.

The hotel is pretty old-school, and that may not suit everyone. For example, the rooms had an actual door key that had to be left with reception when you were out and collected on the way back in. The rooms themselves, while clean and comfortable, were tired and in need of a refresh. The door to our balcony had a very loose handle that we avoided using for fear of damaging it further. The hotel mostly attracts an older clientele. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but it meant that upon arriving for breakfast, a staff member insisted on explaining the breakfast buffet set up to us before we were seated. This wasn't needed, and was honestly a bit odd.

- staff is friendly and polite - location: not far from the center, ~15 minutes to the metro stations on foot, ~10 minutes to a tram - hotel building and interiors looks authentic - there were slippers, personal care products, minibar in the apartment

- water flowed from some pipe under the washbasin, only few drops, however the puddle was accumulated. I put a towel on the floor and it partially solved the problem - poor soundproofing, I clearly heard the neighbors who came at night, closed the door loudly, were being noisy in the apartment or the bathroom - there is only one elevator and it isn't too fast, but for me it's ok - I prefer to take the stairs, but for someone it might be a problem - although the breakfast was delicious, but not varied - almost the same set of products every day

The hotel fully met my expectations: Good location, Public transport stops were nearby, Good places to eat were also nearby, The room had a large bathroom, A very good breakfast for every taste, Excellent coffee (I especially liked the way the cappuccino was served ;) ) and Extremely nice, professional and friendly staff. I´m very satisfied with the hotel and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to have a good experience in Milan!

During the first days of the stay, there was no shower gel in the bathroom, and on one occasion there was no bottled water in the fridge, which was always there on the other days. It probably depended on the person who cleaned the room. At the same time, this is a very small deficiency, which in no way affected the overall satisfaction.

What a lovely little hotel. The room was very comfortable with a big shower. The breakfast was included in the rate which was fantastic, but the standout of the premises were the staff, they were very well spoken in English, very friendly and super helpful. Oh, and there was a quiet, classy 24-hour bar in the lobby too.

The location was a nice 30 min walk to the centre of Milan which bypasses a large park, the big arch (Arco della Pace), and the Sforzesco Palace which wasn't at all a negative for us however if you prefer to be closer to the action or don't like walking, it may be.

the breakfast buffet had a fantastic choice. the staff even supplied vegan chocolate blackberry croissants. location is great, a short walk to the citilife shopping district and the Sempione park / centre of Milan is at the top of the street. About a km away is the subway. the room was lovely and spotless. All the decor was very art deco.

no tea or coffee making facility in the room. However, a call to reception and any drink alcoholic or not can be made for you. everything else is excellent.

Very friendly staff; they just made every day better with a little joke always smiling helping me when I had lost something in my room. Very good location to 3 torri and rest of Milan via metro. Quiet and safe location. Clean rooms and excellent service. Best price comfort location ratio in Milano. Local bars and pizzerias are great small business all stuff home made.

luxurios building, staff extremely friendly and polite, it is very close to the city center, we also received a bigger room because we were with a baby, the room was very nice and clean with a minibar and fridge, breakfast was very good and they were very polite with every guest (the manager himself serves you with coffee and anything you want from the bar), about the parking, we stayed one night and we parked in front of the hotel on the public parking lot (blue line)

The Lancaster is one of the friendliest hotels we’ve experienced. The father and son who run this comfortable, well-situated property were exceptionally kind and helpful, from recommending routes and restaurants to directing us to a store where my wife’s phone could be repaired. The breakfast was copious and tasty, and the rooms small but immaculate and well-equipped. A lovely balcony facing the quiet street in a safe residential neighborhood (close to the many restaurants on the Corso Sempione) added to the charm. A special shout out to night manager Federico, who was never too busy to help us solve our travel problems. All in all, a very special stay.

The historic ambiance of the Hotel Lancaster was charming and made you feel like a local. The staff was friendly, genuinely engaging, and seemed to be interested in my comfort and stay in Milan. I felt safe around the area and it was ideally located close to cafes, parks and attractions. I enjoyed walking to the Arco della Pace, then thru Sempione Park, strolling through the courtyards of Sforzesco Castle, then on to the Duomo and surrounding area. The included breakfast was delightful! They know how to make delicious, soft scrambled eggs and yummy cappuccinos! I made a point of eating breakfast every morning during my stay. I would easily recommend the Hotel Lancaster for it's comfort, old-world charm & value! All the photos attached were taken within walking distance of the Hotel Lancaster!

There was not much to dislike, but I want to provide an honest review...my room was clean, but a little dated. For instance, the wallpaper in my room was peeling and in need of replacing. This is not a complaint but advice...the bed was extremely firm. Not bad if you like firm beds, but I don't. It made my hip hurt since I am a side-sleeper. Nothing that a mattress topper couldn't solve if available. The provided room safe was appreciated, but it wasn't bolted down to anything. Something that couldn't easily be fixed. And lastly, the street noise is prominent at night. I advise using a sound machine or earplugs - I used both and I was fine. All these issues were minor and did not detract from the enjoyment of my stay...

Charming staff…. Very helpful . The rooms are on the small side but comfortable. Location is slightly removed but in a nice residential area with trolley, metro not far .

Like all of Milan during Milan Design Week ( avoid visiting Milan during this week if you are not going for it). The rates were much higher than normal . Understandably so but I’d definitely go back during the rest of the year . Normally it’s very reasonable for the type of hotel . Breakfast is very nice .
