It is an old building but recently and beautifully renovated. The result is large rooms with thick walls, high ceilings, and beautiful patterned tiles complemented by a modern bathroom and air conditioning. It is family run and everyone was friendly and helpful. Our flight was delayed, we arrived well after midnight and they were very nice about it all.

The area is in the heart of Palermo and the surroundings may put some people off. However, we did not witness anything that worried us in any way. It is a few minutes away from the central bus and train station and that could save you from needing taxis which are notoriously expensive in Palermo.

We stayed for 4 nights and used Palermo as a base for northwest Sicily. The B and B is very convenient - close to the Palermo station, Ballaro Market and Via Maqueda (Quattro Canti and beyond). A little gritty, multiethnic area, we found it safe coming home very late at night. Andrea was a great host, served us a variety of baked goods for breakfast, and Donatella even gave us a nice little ceramic for a parting gift. The refrigerator in the breakfast area is full of drinks and fruits free to partake anytime. The bed was the most comfortable we had in all the B and B we stayed in Sicily. They allowed us to store our luggage after check out until our trip that evening.

One weekend evening, our sleep was unfortunately interrupted by karaoke at 3 am from somewhere else in the building.

It is a very nice and modernly furnished place. We had big bedroom and kind of guest room with the couch and table there - Very spacious! We used condition from the guest room - so we were sleeping comfortably when it was really hot outside. Hosts are hospitable, amiable and very helpful. Delicious breakfast was served with different types of home baked cakes, coffee and fruits. Big kitchen with all needed cutleries, plates, glasses, and fridge which can be used. 3 minutes by walking from the main train and bus stations. 10 minutes by walking to Quattro Canti. From which you can walk everywhere.

I wouldn’t say that is what we didn’t like, but in the night time this last part of via Maqueda, about last 300 meters to the place, wasn’t looked so safe I would say. Nothing dangerous happend, even not any sign of it. But for the last 5 minutes of walking I had to be a bit more attentive than usually. But this is kind of South Italy specific I guess.

We had a very pleasant, though unfortunately too short stay at Ballarò guest house! It was exceptionally clean, beautifully finished and decorated and felt so comfortable and safe. It’s clear that a lot of thought and care went into this accommodation. We were greeted with such a warm and kind reception by the host, and were so sad that we had to fly out of Palermo before we could enjoy her homemade breakfast. I would highly recommend to stay here, it’s difficult to find any flaws with this accommodation, and one of the best we experienced during our two week stay in Sicily. The only tiny downside if you were there for a longer stay is that due to the very central location, it was a little loud at night, but this is worth it for how convenient it is to truly be in the heart of the city, and so close to the station.

The place is very organized and clean overall and you can tell that the host is keen and takes care of it. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and Andrea is very respectable, great at communication and simply a nice guy. The breakfast was simple, fresh and delicious. I also must mention the proximity to the central station which was very useful for us.

The neighborhood was gritty and that was already expected from Palermo, but once you entered the building you forget about it :)

Upon arrival we couldn’t find the entrance to the guest house, but luckily the host seen us outside and kindly let us in. The room was such a surprise as it was big, there was plenty of space and the bathroom was also spacious. The wasn’t any problem with the Wi-Fi and the breakfast was good. On the first day we had croissants filled with pistachio cream and chocolate cream, the next day we had a few miniature pastries, and on the last day we had the miniature pastries again, but at this time there was toast, cheese and ham. An observation, rather than a complaint - breakfast is something to improve on, more cereals to add, there was no butter, no tomatoes or cucumber, also there was only pre portioned fruit juice. We however had a small issue, every single morning when we woke up both myself and my partner were full of bites. At first I thought they may be mosquito bites, but it seems something else. We have checked the bed for bugs, nothing was found, also the cleanliness of the room was excellent. We didn’t raise this issue with the host, but it is something to keep in mind - a few photos are attached. The overall experience is great, it is just the bites which would have been better if didn’t happen.

A very cozy mini-hotel near the central station in Palermo. There are only 3 modern, spacious and bright rooms in the hotel. Delicious coffee throughout the day, breakfast on the terrace and a very friendly and caring hotel owner. Everything is clean and comfortable. The location is convenient if you walk from the station with luggage in 5 minutes.

The immediate surroundings of the hotel are not very conducive, since it is close to the train station...

Perfect location just right at the market and very close to all other central spots in the city. The host was exceptionally welcoming and friendly, the room is spacious and clean, and the building felt quite safe. The guest house has a lovely patio where you can just enjoy the view and some shade and cool breeze, and have breakfast in the morning. We would definitely recommend and stay here again.

The accommodation was very clean, quiet, large and air-conditioned, it was really great. Andréa was really a great host, the breakfast was copious and we were able to take it at the time we wanted between 8 and 10 am, it was really very pleasant. Andréa also gave us tips on some really great places to visit, restaurants and bars.

This B&B is an absolute treasure in the heart of Palermo! Fantastic location (close to airport bus stop, and most of the Palermo sights). Beautiful new facilities - everything made of quality material, amazing bed, quiet AC, wonderful pressure of the shower, many options of fresh local food for breakfast, there is even terrace with a comfortable sofa for the guests to lounge on!!! And on top of it all a very helpful owner.always available. I have been to many B&Bs in Palermo over the years but now I will only come here. A truly special place!
