We stayed 3 nights with my wife. There are several reasons that we like the hotel: Staff and owners: It's a lovely family hotel. The owners and all staff were polite and supportive from the beginning of our reservation. They did their best and answered every question with details. When we couldn't find a nice table in a restaurant in Positano, Raffaele helped us to make a reservation. I'm glad to meet them. Location: There are 4 advantages of the location: 1- The entrance is on a level with the street. You can reach the hotel without stairs. This is one of the best things in Amalfi cost because of the natural positioning of the general buildings or restaurants. There is an elevator in the hotel. 2- The bus station is in front of the hotel. Even though we rented a car, somedays bus was the best option. In Positano, car parks charge around 8 euros per hour. If you have time to wait a bit, it will be worth it. Although, parking your car in the wrong place is too expensive because of the parking penalties. 3- The view is stunning. The hotel has a wide range of sea views and also you can see Positano to Capri. 4- There are 3 small beaches below the hotel (after 400 stairs). 2 of them are privet beaches and you should make a reservation in advance. one of them is a public beach but you need to bring your towel, etc. there is no chairs or umbrella. Restaurant: They are serving beautiful local dishes with a beautiful view. Also, breakfast was quite good. Other Supports: They helped us to organize a boat tour to Capri. There was a small group (12 people) with us and It was worth it. (110 Euros per person)

It is not about the hotel, It's the nature of the region. In Amalfi cost, parking is the biggest problem. The car park is 20 euros per day. But you will get that it's not bad for the region. In positano they are charging 8 euros per hour. If you would like to take your car, you need to make your plan earlier and ask your car from the hotel. The car park is around 10 minutes away. So listen to Raffaele, use buses when they fit your plans:) Sometimes it is the best option.

The view from the room and the restaurant are unmatched. It is so beautiful to watch the sunsetting over Positano every night from the hotel. Staff were amazing and extremely informative, very helpful and very kind. Location is perfect, not even 5minutes to the main bus stop that takes you between all the towns on the almafi coast and some beautiful restaraunts in walking distance including the food at the restaraunt at Smeraldo. The breakfast is so so good and the staff at the restaraunt are the best too. Couldn't rate this any higher, stay here!!

the staff and their service, you feel that they actually care about you and they all are there for any kind of help even if it is not related to their hotel. They helped us arrange our transportation and they upgraded us to a room with a view, they replaced my wife’s plate because she didn’t like the option she choose, they are genuinely so kind my wife and I absolutely loved everything and we will definitely come back again

to be honest, nothing!!! our 2 days stay was such a short time and we wanted to stay more but we had other plans arranged.

What a gem. This hotel was perfect for our group of 8. Rooms were spacious and comfortable and balcony had amazing views of Positano. We really enjoyed meeting the owners and they were so gracious and helpful. They truly cared for their guest like we were family. The included breakfast was delicious and we ate an excellent dinner at the restaurant which were both out on a beautiful terrace with amazing views. The owners helped us arrange taxi service and were able to store our luggage on the last day. We look forward to returning to Hotel Smeraldo one day.

The bedroom had a terrace with views, which you could enjoy just from your bed. It is difficult to match that pleasure, it is quite close to paradise. Also, breakfast is served in a terrace with the same views, which is fantastic. The staff is very kind and very helpful. The location (Praiano) is great if you want to visit Positano, Amalfi, etc., and they have parking (absolutely critical if you get there by car). The parking is not in the same place, it is 300 meters away and very easy to find, it works fine, the staff from the hotel helps you with this.

Breakfast could be improved, it was a bit too simple, offering some fruit would make it better. Also, this is not a criticism to the hotel, because I guess it is rather a general problem in the area, but I found it to be expensive. Though I would also say that there is no money enough to pay for the views from the room....

Beautifully appointed rooms, we had a sea view with a nice size balcony with table and chairs. Location was the best and the staff were so welcoming and friendly and very hospitable! Loved everything about this family run hotel! Awesome breakfast and a lovely boutique with original pieces designed by their son.

Our room and views from the balcony were spectacular! The family and staff were fantastic and very helpful. We really enjoyed our stay there, easy day trips to Positano, Amalfi, Ravello, and we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of Praiano and Hotel Smeraldo! Highly recommend staying at Hotel Smeraldo!

The staff were very friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable of the area. Gave good tips and advice of where to go. Food was lovely both breakfast and dinner. Room had the best view ever. Very relaxed feel which is down to the quality of the hotel. Would definately love to go back. Would highly recommend

This was my favourite hotel myself and my partner stayed at on the Amalfi Coast. The terrace for breakfast every morning has the most incredible breath-taking views. The staff were extremely helpful. they even helped us arrange a Vespa hire. The location is perfect , its located right on the main road so close to shops bars and cafes. Praiano itself is very charming and we loved that following aspects" a) had better sunset views than Positano b) is a good starting point for doing Path of the Gods c) quiter and more laidback than Positano d) got to experience amore authentic italian experience compared to Positano which is bit of a tourist trap e) hotel is right above One Fire Beach club which was one of our favourite days spent on the Amalfi Coast. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Praiano away form the crowds of Positano/Amalfi

Excellent hotel! The location is perfect, with amazing views of the sea and coast. The staff were friendly and attentive. The room was clean and spacious. We had a large balcony with a hot tub, which was absolutely worth the extra price. Praiano in general is beautiful, and much more relaxed than neighbouring Positano.

Sometimes heard people in adjoining rooms and the restaurant above (though it was always quiet at night). Also, not a fault of the hotel, but getting to/from Praiano definitely requires some pre-planning.
