Great little room. The bathroom had a modern shower and the toiletry items were exceptional (every hotel should provide cotton swabs like this place does!). The bed was more comfortable than most of the ones I've slept on in Sicily. The room was small, and hasn't been renovated in a few years, so my first impression wasn't the best. But everything was impeccably clean, and clearly well taken care of. In general, even if something looks old, south Italy's standards of cleanliness are high, much higher than northern europe. Finally the staff: wonderful. I think the lower price reflects the kind of room you get, but the staff make it feel like a more prestigious hotel experience. Location: I came to Syracuse to see the archaeological parc, and this was five minutes away so it was perfect. But if you're coming for ortigia, in the summer, and it's 47°c like it was when I arrived, the 15-20 minute walk may seem unbearable.
Too much brown in the room, carpet and bedding. Makes old look older. 9:30 ending breakfast is a bit steep.

They have a little private parking area, but I got a slot. I could check in earlier than I was expected. The receptionist gave me a map with helpful information. There was a big breakfast buffet.

Pricewise to room is OK. The Bar however is a joke and the restaurant as well. 2 wines to chose, one white and one red, and both bad. No a la carte, just a menu like in a canteen

Everything was old and poorly maintained. No air conditioning, very hot room and if you opened window the traffic noise was very loud. Thin old towels, no kettle. Breakfast was very poor, the worst I have ever had in Italy. No fresh tomatoes, or cooked eggs, toast etc, just poor quality canned fruit and a selection of sliced cheese and cheap ham and sweet stuff. Why no local fresh ingredients …. it’s all around, so no excuse for such a terrible effort ☹️
