Great location, between two different beaches and a lovely temporary platform where we could sun bathe and jump in the water from. Close to many restaurants, ice cream places. Lovely balcony where we enjoyed having breakfast which we could easily bring from the breakfast room (bedroom was on 4th floor, same as breakfast room!). Room was of good size and bed was very comfortable. Also good shower.

Staff were not very reliable when we first arrived, not being there even though we'd just agreed the arrival time and then not having secured the car park space as agreed on the phone that same week. It was all very stressful and somewhat spoiled the beginning of our hols. We ended up parking at the parking TALETE which worked fine. Staff seemed friendly but didn't really say much about our room which had a bad smell of sewage. This smell seemed to go whenever the aircon was on, but we didn't realise that till the end of our stay. There is a bar/restaurant in front of the hotel. It only bothered us one night, but could be noisy when open.

Location in the heart of the historic area; convenient garage nearby despite its high price; nice view from the window over the skyline of Ortigia (Ortigia is the name of the island with the old city of Syracuse) and the bells of the church on the other side of the street; the balcony with its furnishing; the small fridge inside the room; the practical room’s furniture; tasty breakfast with many options, the good coffee and remarkable cappuccino making process;

The bathroom is small; the shower cabin is very small; no toothbrush holders in the bathroom; stench pervades the bathroom; the bathroom’s taps do not have marks for hot and cold water (even the different taps possess different sides of hot and cold water); no glasses in the room; our room (15) wasn't soundproof; would be nice if breakfast starts earlier; difficult or expensive parking (20 euro on our stay);

This is a lovely B&B, in a central yet quiet area of Ortigia. A large room, very good quality bed, and air conditioned made for a very comfortable stay. The staff is kind and helpful. I'm especially grateful to Giorgia for taking care of a special need that simply made my stay! I would definitely come back.

Only breakfast needs serious improvement. A message to the manager: think globally about your guests' needs. A few healthy additions in the Mediterranean style would make it suitable for international travelers and guests with special dietary restrictions. Bread, boiled eggs, ham and cheese can't be the only option if you can't eat croissants and cakes! Try with a small offering of fresh tomatoes, plain green olives and hummus, and see what happens. You can then promote this kind of breakfast as part of what makes your B&B special!

Location is perfect. Hosts very welcoming friendly and informative. Apartments are in an old Italian building with lots of character, marble stair case and original lift. Room was light and modern, very good quality pillows and mattress, so comfortable, room very clean with a really well equipped modern bathroom with a big shower. The room had air con and a good size fridge, even a lovely wrought iron balcony to sit back and relax with a cold glass of wine looking out to original architecture of surounding buildings and you just see the sea over the roof tops. Will be booking again for next year. it would be unfair to compare this wonderful B & B to a hotel.

The friendly welcome from Bianca at Maison Ortigia on arrival, the cleanliness & quality of my room & the location was perfect. Surrounded by all the history & beauty Ortigia has to offer, not to say the many varieties of places to stop & enjoy an apertivo, a coffee & delicious Sicilian pastries or something more substantial it's all there waiting for you to discover it! There's also a small lift to use whenever needed. A bonus after a big day out wandering all little alley ways & walking the promenade around this delightful place. The views & the crystal clear water so inviting, highly recommended!

Beautiful seaside town. Apartments are well located.breakfast was lovely

Parking is very awkward even to drop off bags, very narrow streets. Steps at entrance are very slippery, I slipped on the last 4 or 5 way too easily.there is no rail at the bottom. I was very lucky to only bruise my arm I could have easily broken something. If I was older I think it would have been a disaster. Please do something I never fall and have great balance. Anti slip strips,a new rail and signs would be helpful. Given the lift is very old and most people use the steps I think this is important.

We had such a great stay in Maison Ortigia! We were initially a bit worried because of mixed reviews but honestly, everything was great and even better than expected. The location was very convenient, staff very friendly, room very nice (stayed in a Deluxe room), comfy bed, no problems whatsoever. But the highlights for us were the lovely view (old church and other historic buildings, we even had some sea view even though we didn't stay in a sea-view room), the balcony to enjoy sun in the morning and excellent breakfast. When in Italy, we don't usually expect much from hotel breakfasts, but here we were pleasantly surprised - we loved both the sweet (pancakes and cakes) and the savory options (scrambled eggs and omelet among other things), good coffee, too. And the value was just excellent. We would be more than happy to come back if we visit Syracuse again.

Maybe wending machine right next to the rooms is not the best idea because some of the guests can be not very considerate for others around.

Wonderful experience! I have no experience of luxury hotels but for my taste this was luxury, given the favourable price. The location is perfect, slightly off from the very center of the old town, so there was no noise from the crowds but 5 minutes away from everything in the old town - a one minute walk to the sea. The view from my window over the inner courtyard with 2 old churches and the bit of sea you could see was beautiful, very homey. The room was clean and fresh. The receptionist was very welcoming. The breakfast was delicious; the bread and pastries were fresh. Would most definitely recommend!

location is fantastic. breakfast was good. We had three rooms with no issues in any of them.

parking is a problem. but if you contact the hotel they will book secure underground parking which is just around the corner. so then parking does not become a problem. 😊

The location of Maison Ortigia is excellent, it is a 4 minute walk to the Duomo and close to all the restaurants and bars. I have never felt so safe travelling alone and the hosts were very accommodating. Bianca was brilliant and helped me find out the local bus times and I could go to her at any time with questions and if I needed anything extra for my room. The room was nice and bright and very clean with a cute balcony which had a sea view and overlooked a church courtyard. The breakfast was a traditional continental breakfast with plenty of options. I would definitely return to Maison Ortigia when visiting Syracuse again!
