Rarely have I encountered such a lovely place. Everything was so perfectly accomplished. The hotel itself is lovely. Well located. Then there is the staff; each and every one of them I’m quite certain was there just to make my stay perfect. Breakfast was a dream. Thankfully we had six mornings to be able to experience it all. To describe it would be impossible, but for an idea, there was a table with perhaps ten porcelain honey pots, each from a different plant or fruit. Phenomenal! Our room was lovely, well furnished, bed cozy, and there were bathrobes. I may never return to Naples, but the Hotel Continental will remain in my memory as one of the, if not the, most wonderful hotels where I have stayed.

The location was absolutely perfect. The staff…all the staff were clearly hard working and friendly. The breakfast offerings were fantastic with un paralleled offerings and we asked for different eggs and this was never a problem 👍

In the room another socket at the dresser table and a mirror……..for the wife!

Breakfast was so much choice and greeted by a beautiful piano playing, the food choices for lunch and dinner were fantastic the roof top bar was incredible and we loved enjoying cocktails on the terrace the views were beautiful.

Not what I didn’t like but just a tip - check the prices of restaurant before you book we didn’t and although the experience was lovely it was very over priced for what you get sorrento has lots of restaurants on offer with more authentic food which we enjoyed more.

Beautiful property very close to cliff but few public cliff views except for the rooftop restaurant. This picture makes it appear to be on the cliff but there is another property just in front of it. Great amenities. Great included breakfast, nothing left out!

Staff on the whole were wonderful, responsive and helpful! I was put off by the cash only policy to reserve/ pay for the many excursions and trips offered by the hotel. Even reserving a tact to the airport could only be done with cash payment. I personally, for obvious safety reasons, no longer carry that kind of cash with me. It required a separate trip to find an ATM with a reasonable exchange rate on a day when I was not feeling well.

A lovely hotel. Possibly a little old fashioned or stuffy, but still a lovely place to spend time. Very attentive staff. Breakfast lovely, if a bit over the top. Not sure I need ice cream for breakfast. Our bathroom had a shower in the bath, which is always disappointing, but fits with the age of the place and we did not query it. Our room did indeed have the advertised sea view, but it was over the roof of another hotel. We did not have cause to use the rooftop bar, but it looked nice when we checked it out when closed. There is a lift down to the beach club, which leads to a tunnel anyone familiar with German WW2 bunkers will appreciate, but it beats using the steps.

Unfortunately our second night was marred by some ridiculously noisy Americans in the adjoining room. We called reception but whenever they came up of course they were quiet. On checking out we discovered we were not the only ones to complain. As a gesture of good will the hotel did not charge us the parking fee of €50, which we did not ask for. Obviously this was not the hotel’s fault, but when you are only staying two nights it makes a difference. As a minor point, the hotel does still have a turn down service where they leave a chocolate and a weather forecast for the next day. Unfortunately the chocolates all seem to have been stored incorrectly and have blown. Ok to eat, but not very pleasant looking.

Breakfast was incredible - service impeccable from all staff. Location second to none in Sorrento, with a beautiful pool for late afternoon sun after days trips. We used it as a base for 5 days - travelled by boat to Capri, Positano and Amalfi.

The relationship with Leonellis beach - tickets to swim on the beach are included with your stay. The staff at Leonellis are pushy and just want your money, almost acting as night club bouncers - this is a total contrast to the staff at the hotel. I suggest they revisit this partnership we used the other beach clubs and the staff were much better.

The location and the view to Mt Vesuvius. Pool with pool bar was an excellent place to relax after exploring Sorrento and surrounds. Enjoyed Rooftop bar at sunset. Breakfast was fantastic, extensive selection and delicious. Internal photos and photos of the pool online don't do this accommodation justice. A quiet location, close to Leonellis beach, free swim pass included when required ( swim only, no chairs or sitting at beach). Easy walk to restaurants and to explore the fishing village.

Our verandah got a little bit hot in the afternoon

Our room balcony with red petunias in perfect bloom overlooked the square below and Mount Vesuvius in front. The location is ideal: behind travel down through the Greek Door to Marina Grande for pleasant seaside fare and to discover the location of Sophia Loren’s 1955 movie Pane, Amore e… as well as the interesting patron saint of the Marina Grande fishermen, St Anna; through the front of the hotel delight in the quiet of Victoria Park or walk toward the Marina Piccola via the Park next to the Franciscan Monastery; to the right, enter the maze of tiny street with so much history and Italian Cibo. But, the hotel as an amazingly professional multilingual staff, including several Clef D’Or Concierges, and the top of the hotel has an excellent terrace restaurant. The hotel breakfast is epic in size and and variety. This was a perfect three day stay!

I stayed too few days!

Room was adorable and very well maintained while we were there. Staff was super helpful and friendly. Location is amazing. Easily walking to the main shopping streets as well as the beach clubs. The breakfast was also fantastic.

We stayed on the 4th floor under the restaurant and heard them setting up for dinner every night around 6 and then cleaning up at 11. Or wasn’t terrible, but def noisy for at least 30 min during those times. Would probably not stay on that floor again. We also went up to the bar once and were both not impressed with our drinks for what they cost.

Really great location that is close to the beach and the main strip of Sorrento. Hotel comes with a free lift that takes you straight down to the beach. This came in very handy as we booked beach clubs a couple of the days we were there. The location is close to the Port as well so if you have day trips to Positano and Amalfi it's very easy to get to. Staff were really nice and helpful and breakfast was really nice. Pool area was really nice!

Room was quite small and didn't fit both our suitcases when we opened them and laid them out. So we had to keep closing them to open the other one. For the price I expected a bit bigger. Price is quite steep but location makes it kind of worth it. Restaurant on top is over priced.
