The manager worked with us to resolve our upset with the room allocated to us. Half of our stay was in a room so small you needed to leave it to change your mind. The new room was very good, other than the bathroom.

The room we selected per the website was to be a Superiore room. Motel 6 has better rooms. When we tried to pursue other options we were told by staff that those were the rooms allocated to on-line booking services and that there was nothing we could do. They blocked attempts to see the manager. Once we finally got to the manager he arranged to move us to a room that had sufficient space, although drawer space was still totally inadequate.

Location is excellent! Steps away from the town centre, we arrived early and our room was ready which was so good. We expected a room with a garden view but we had a sea view which was so amazing! The room was lovely, very comfortable bed and great bathroom with excellent toiletries. We loved the lift down to the beach club and although the hotel don't own the beach club we were able to purchase a chair for only 16 Euro and had an amazing day of swimming in the pristine water. The breakfast restaurant had amazing views as did the bar, which was perfect for aperitivo. The pool area was lovely which lots of loungers. We would definitely stay here again.

The room was extremely comfortable to meet our needs but was smaller than we expected. A little more space within the bedroom and certainly the bathroom would have been welcomed. Bed comfy and beautiful linen. The staff were most welcoming and helpful. Food and service excellent The pool and surrounding areas were lovely- the pool however, was on the small size for the size of hotel. Enjoyed the quiet garden area to enjoy some reading however the permitted smoking was not so great

The size of the bedroom and the bathroom was in the small size, and pool area could have been larger in order to accommodate the number of guests - as mentioned previously Free drinking water and tea/coffee making facilities would have been welcomed

Pretty much everything! The location, the setting, the views, the room, the breakfast room with an unbeatable view of the Bay of Naples, a sense of being treated almost like royalty without it being overdone.

We had a minor issue that quickly and graciously got ironed out: When we arrived, we were issued a room, without explanation, that didn't correspond to the type of room we had booked.

This is a superb hotel with many historic features. Upon arriving, it is immediately apparent that the hotel displays the highest standards and we got a warm welcome from the staff on the reception desk. Our room was a superior double room with garden view which had a large private balcony. The room was very comfortable and very well serviced and benefited from a safe and minibar. There are wonderful views from the restaurant across the bay with Vesuvius in the background. The breakfast was very good with a wide selection of hot and cold food. The hotel could not be better located with the attractions of Sorrento within walking distance

The breakfasts could have been even better with a wider selection of fresh fruit. However, this is more a suggestion rather than a criticism.

The staff were amazing, attentive and helpful and it is a beautiful historic place. Breakfast was fabulous each day and we also had a delicious dinner there one night, trying their tasting menus. The bar was a nice place to chill as well and enjoy the beautiful views. The pool area was relaxing and we had a nice poolside lunch there one day too. Their elevator down to the sea was easy and a convenient feature. What a great place to stay on our vacation!

Ocean view room was small but that seems the norm for Italy. Bathroom had a super small shower stall and no tub. Not a lot of place to sit or store your things.

Amazing views of Mount Vesuvius and the bay, direct access to beach via hotel lift . Staff were lovely and helpful (most spoke some English). Attached is a photo of the view from our room. We had our 11 year old with us, and had a room with a king bed and sofa bed.

Great location... beautiful view of the Bay of Naples / Mount Vesuvious from our bedroom window. Great morning breakfast buffet... from eggs to pastry to fruit to deli meats to cereals. Staff extremely attentive and breakfast held in primary restaurant with full sea / volcano view. Private lift to the beach / water. Spacious room... comfortable for three people. Hotel older Italian property... beautiful grounds, nice pool / pool area.

Room recently remodeled... not as old school Italian as we expected. Room a bit damp; artwork on wall had noticeable mold and should be removed. Room furnishing a bit sparse... could have used a desk.

There's lots to like here. - The location is excellent - most Sorrento properties are a steep and/or long walk from the central area whereas the Tramontino is in the middle of it all, adjacent the waterfront & main square. - We found the staff to be very good. Others have down-marked on this point but I think it's a cultural thing - the staff here are aware they are in a classic/historical property and are perhaps a little more formal in their interactions. This isn't California - they aren't going to give you their star signs & stroke your arm. Just my 2c... - The bar was old school - great veranda overlooking the bay. Very good pours. Main bartender & his younger sidekick (Fabio) very professional. Great place to take in the sunsets. - The property has some little used public/drawing/function rooms which were nice to utilize as quiet spots - grandly decorated. - Concierge was helpful in securing reservations - On our request they arranged a car service from Naples Airport - 140 euros each way. High end Mercedes. Very efficient.

Many have commented on the rooms being a bit dated. Well, yes, they are but it's an older property. What could be done though: - our room effectively had a single useable power outlet creating heartache around charging the usual tech stuff. - no kettle/teamaking facilities - they just want to force you to use the pricey room service. We actually purchased our own kettle (15 euros) & left it there. We were there for the week and the cost/benefit analysis was easy... - housekeeping a bit hit or miss but these folks work harder than I ever will so not a biggie - pool closes at 6pm - pool side service is very poor - you have to jump up and down to grab attention for a drink. They just need to be trained to swivel their heads a bit.

The hotel is a piece of history with an amazing sea view. Everyone in the breakfast is extremely happy and servicing, and the amount of options are very high. Location is really good, just seconds from the historic center. The pool is a nice and deep with plenty of sunbeds either by the pool or even more reserved.

When we arrive on a 40°C day, coming from Otranto, in a Fiat 500 wearing flip flops, and no big bags (we travel light, and just do laundry) we received some kind of disdainful look. That made us a little bit uncomfortable, I think some part of the staff may need to accept that generations are changing the purchase behavior. Regardless, we had an amazing stay.
