the view and the huge pool and terrace

wish we could have breakfast on the terrace, there were no tables set up outside with such an amazing view it’s a no brainer to me, we were all sitting on top of each other in a huge dining room inside

Breakfast- food choices. Didn’t like the coffee so took my own :) . Staff very attentive and excellent service. View - we had a superior room which had a view of Mount Etna and the sea which was the most perfect thing ever. Pool - could always get a sunbed. Pool was a perfect size and nice temperature. Also with the view of Etna. Again perfect! Hotel overall - looks like it was an old classic hotel and really liked the style overall. Location - bus stop 5 mins away. Park next door, lovely walk to the centre, very safe. 10 mins or less to the view point and steps to the sea. Room - not massive but most of the time spent out on the balcony. Was clean. Beds and pillows comfortable and slept well every night. Cleanliness - very good, breakfast area was very well looked after. Pool area - was clean, food was lovely and the service was great, friendly team. Bar and outside terrace - lovely area and friendly staff.

No kettle in the room, which I didn’t notice when booking and was a bit annoying as I am an early riser. The coffee at breakfast wasn’t great and my daughter needs warm water for cleaning her retainers.

Fabulous views across the bay towards Mt Etna, lovely pool and bar area. Good selection of foods at breakfast, otherwise we didn't eat there. The hotel is located on the edge of town but an easy walk in through the gardens

We booked at fairly short notice, so people in the know had clearly avoided our room. There are several located in a separate building, which is essentially under the pool. While this in itself wasn't a problem, the fact that there were over 100 steps to the main gate (in addition to using the elevator) was. This was not pleasant in over 30° heat. It would be naive to not expect some steps in Taormina, however I do think that that information should be shared on the room details so an informed choice could be made.

We were most disappointed that on arrival we were shown to a small room without a balcony/Seaview, I had previously upgraded (at great expense) to a superior double with seaview, at first the hotel reception flatly denied any upgrade, after showing our booking, they found the email and confirmed the booking. The room did have sea view with a balcony, but having later seen other rooms on the same corridor didn’t think it “superior” I would have thought having booked four sets of rooms in total (approx £9k ) and the hotel being aware of this, a better room could have been provided.

I would have rated this hotel 10points if there wasn't the issue with the car park. We specifically booked this hotel for it's free own parking. We parked our car on the hotel premises. At check-in the reception demanded the car keys because they move the car to somewhere else and an additional 20eu . So we literally had to empty our belongings from the car even though we stayed for one night. On the website it says parking is free and no reservations. I contested this with the reception manager and he told us that for this time round he'll close an eye. So I'm not sure if I'll book this hotel on my next visit.

The view is amazing. Gardens are beautiful and very well kept, pool area is stunning with gorgeous surroundings. We upgraded our room to a big corner room with a sea view and own terrace. Room had several big windows with most beautiful landscapes. Staff was really friendly and helpful. Dining room / restaurant is absolutely gorgeous and it serves great food. A short walk away from city center.

Hotel rooms need urgent updating, furnitures and carpets are very old. Rooms are not 4 star level, more likely 3 star.

The location was really god and the feeling of and antique vibe. We had breakfast looking at mount Etna and it was lovely.

It seemed it needed maintenance. The wood was chipped in some places and the hallway carpets were dirty, it smelled old. Our room was under a hall, there was a big party happening and we could hear the footsteps and music so we didn’t sleep very well. The shower didn’t have a curtain or glass so we left a bit mess on the bathroom. We had to leave our car keys because they didn’t have enough space to park it.

The location was exceptional. Next door to the beautiful gardens and so close to the old town. The pool was beautiful with amazing views over Taormina and the sea and mountains. We had a large balcony which was amazing.

This is a beautiful grand old hotel but could do with a freshen up. The carpets throughout should be changed. The taps in the bathroom need to be replaced and the beds could do with a change as I think they are quite old . The towels were thinner than normal towels found in a 4 star hotel. Coffee was also not to standard which came out of machine. During checkin we didn’t find that the staff were as welcoming as other hotels we have stayed in.

Stunning views, excellent location

Parking was very limited and, on arrival, we were told if there wasn't a space we would need to pay 20E per night to park elsewhere. During our stay, after returning one evening with our car we found a space in the car park and used it but the hotel insisted we had committed to pay for the whole week to park elsewhere (despite several spaces becoming available during the week). This was not explained at all clearly on arrival and didn't make any sense to us.

The location was excellent and views were beautiful. The staff were very attentive and friendly . Swimming pool was excellent. Breakfast wide choice of food. We would recommend dining in the hotel restaurant as the menu was very good and the food probably the best we had in Sicily.

Our room was located below the pool and we had to climb and descend many steps. Not much parking space. The Hotel is very dated but being renovated in 2025.
