Breakfast was in a lovely area . The terrace seemed more like a garden. Fresh breads, yogurt and soft boiled eggs with coffee or tea. Well worth staying for. We walked along the canals in the afternoon and had dinner at a local restaurant on one of the canals recommended by our host. We were out of the tourist areas in a very lovely part of Venice. The water taxi to the airport was very convenient. Overall a very lovely stay. We highly recommend it.

This place is like a dream, you enter via a lovely flowering trees garden right from the beautiful (and quiet) canals in the North of Venice, and are welcomed by lovely hosts that make you feel right at home. Breakfast is served in the back garden overlooking a historical Venetian garden (or in your room on a cute trolley in case of rain). One small bridge away there is a canal with amazing local restaurants and awesome wine bars, and the rest of Venice is a breeze to get to either by walking or taking some occasional public boats. It's the perfect place to come back to and unwind after spending some time in the busy center. Rooms felt bigger in real life compared to the pictures.

We particularly liked the location , in a very quiet area of Venice , Cannaregio , the entrance off the canal side very original . Marco and he's wife Allesandro made us very welcome in there home , breakfast was served on a beautiful terrace covered in jasmine overlooking another lovely garden ,perfect. Waking up to the old church bells ringing across the city , nothing like it any where else in the world. Our Italian adventure was amazing, Lake Garda then by train into Venice ,Casa Bassagio was the icing on the cake

This is my favourite place to stay in Venice. It is very easy to access from Marco Polo airport with very clear instructions on how to get to the B&B from the boat. You are warmly welcomed into the house as you get to it through a lovely quiet courtyard just off a preety canal. You are out of the touristy area but in easy walk of the best known attractions. The bus and train station are walkable. There are some very good, authentic restaurants just a short walk away and are on the side of the canal. This area is one of the best to while away a lunchtime or evening in Venice. Breakfast on the small terrace is served with attention and warmth by your hosts--what a lovely way to start the day. I can hardly wait to do it all again!

The rooms are a bit dark. Gas boiler located in the kitchenette can make some noises as it is not only for this property but for the whole building. Nothing major, only these two really minor things stood out.

Perfect location - in a quiet part of town with amazing dining places near by. The owners were so nice! Gave us dining suggestions and let us leave our luggage with them after checkout, so we could enjoy the city one day more. I loved the rooms and the view of a beautiful garden outside the window. 100% will visit again! Thank you so much!

Marco and Alessandra are fabulous hosts and very helpful. The accommodation is in a quieter part of the city but it is still easy to walk to the main attractions and transport. Breakfast was substantial and delicious and we enjoyed the courtyard surroundings. Our room was large and comfortable with separate kitchenette, bathroom and living area. A great place to stay.

Marco and Alessandra are wonderful hosts. They both speak enough English and can tell you all about the local area (Canareggio - delightfully peaceful and full of character including canals, gondolas, Venetian architecture, history and good restaurants without the crowds) or further afield in Venice. Breakfast on their beautiful terrace was a delight and delicious. Our room was very spacious (really a small suite) and well-equipped with view over the quiet green courtyard towards Madonna d’Orto (the vaporetto/ Aililaguna stop nearby is handy for Casa Baseggio).

Well the weather was 30 degrees when we were in Venice, which is very hot for us. Also we should have left some baggage at Venice airport as well as the car cos even one canal bridge with steps was a bit much in the heat cos we were overloaded. Travel by boat and travel light!

this property had an amazing amount of room, very unusual the places we stayed in Europe. The breakfast was wonderful and abundant. Our host was so accommodating and gracious.

We just loved staying here. It is very easy to find from the airport and in an non-touristy part of Venice. Still an easy walk to Rialto and St Marks. Great restaurants nearby along the side of the canal. Our hosts could not have been more welcoming or helpful. Breakfast on the terrace was a real joy. We couldn’t have had a better stay. The hosts speak good English.
