Hotel La Malà in Vernazza impresses with its unbeatable location and stunning sea views. From here, you can fully enjoy the charm of the village and the beauty of the Cinque Terre coastline. The rooms are stylishly furnished and provide a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere.

However, the check-out time at 10 AM was quite early. Extending for just one more hour required an extra fee, which made having a relaxed breakfast—especially since the hotel doesn’t offer one—a bit stressful. A later check-out or a more flexible policy would have been appreciated. Overall, La Malà is a fantastic choice for those who value spectacular views and a prime location!

Service was wonderful. We got picked up at the train station and shown directly to our accommodation. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Location is quiet and extremely close to everything. I'm not sure if this is offered all the time, but since La Mala is part of the sustainable program of the Cinque Terre National Park, they gave us an incredible discount on the Cinque Terre Card that included unlimited train travel. I would stay here again!

There was no curtain or blinds to cover the small window. The accommodation is up many stairs - this wasn't an issue for my partner and I, and they offer to bring your luggage if you are unable to but just want to flag this for those with mobility issues.

Very charming place, the terrasse overlooking the sea has a breathtaking view of the sea and great place to see the sunset. Room was very clean and we had a nice view of the castle, a glimpse of the sea and the village ! The owner Gian Is such a nice man, he came to meet us at the train station to help with the bags and show us the way to the property, Vernassa is a bit of a maze of stairs and tiny alleys so we we happy to have him guide us :-) He also helped us with restaurant reservations and made us feel right at home We will definitely come back !

Great communication with staff from start to end. Was met at the train station and brought to our room. We had room 26. For a family of 4 it was perfect. Very comfortable. Views out our windows to the sea. Access to the private terrace watching the sunset. Room and the whole place was very clean. Great location and a very short walk ti the train station, trekking paths and water. 10/10

Everything. We were delighted with our choice of Vernazza, and La Mala really made it a wonderful stay. Travelling light and car free proved to work really well along the Cinque Terre coast. We sat out on the terrace most evenings till sunset returning in the morning to enjoy sunrise. Very relaxing!

The location is absolutely beautiful, with access to the Cinque Terra area. We had the best view overlooking the ocean. There was a large patio area where you can sit and watch the ferries and local fishing boats and have a glass of your favourite beverage. The bed was super comfortable. Our host Gian, met us at the Vernazza train station and helped us with our luggage and showed us the way to the accommodation.

The steps …they give you a workout, but it is a really worth it.

I had been told so many wonderful things about La Mala, I was afraid I might be disappointed. Nope! It was even better! First, we must thank Gian for meeting us and helping with our bags and guiding us to La Mala. Room 31 was just amazing with its bright, white, fresh decor! But opening the windows to look out at the sea...was just the best! Our housekeeper, did such a nice job refreshing our room also. Must give her an extra thanks! The location to the harbor and all the magical walkways and views... the castle and hikes above Vernazza... I could go on and on. But best of all was coming back and sleeping with the window open to hear the waves against the rocks below!

The hike up all the stairs could be a negative for some. But that quickly became part of the fun. We got better at making the climb faster. And we burned off lots of pasta and bread!

La Malà exceeded our expectations! From the moment we booked it, Gian communicated with us really well and made arrangements to meet us from the train station to help us with our luggage. The accommodation was really clean and modern and had everything we needed plus the views were stunning! We couldn’t have asked for anymore from our stay - thank you Gian!

Great welcome and care during our stay. Beautiful views of Cinque Terre, quiet retreat to replenish. Contemporary style decor with great taste. Good recommendations of activities in the area.

Be ready to climb stairs to reach this beautiful spot. Some areas could be improved (quality of toiletries), maintenance of some small wall spots.

Communication through Booking.com was delayed about 24 hours. Get in shape for the steps…but that is Vernazza. Could have had a wi-fi extender in our room to help with the slow internet.
