We loved everything about this hotel. The food was delicious, the room and view were amazing, the amenities were incredible, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We didn't use most of it but there were so many toiletries provided in our room. One of our kids was sad and cried a lot during our stay but everyone was patient and friendly. I also appreciated how accessible it was. There were hardly any steps into the room, which made it easy for the wheelchair user in our family. (For other wheelchair users: there were however a few steps to get in and out of the public bath that make it less accessible than the rest of the hotel. There were chairs in the public bath for people who can't sit on stools). We stayed two nights and wished we could stay longer and explore more of the surrounding area.
The only thing I didn't like was that we couldn't drain the large tub/ofuro in our room. I understand it's probably to save water and prevent people from refilling it too many times but after two days using the same water, we wished we could switch it out ourselves. It probably could've been done for us but we were in a hurry and weren't able to.

We spent two nights in this traditional Japanese hot spring resort with 70 years history, which has three onsen pools. From the Japanese-styled room we could see views of the snow mountains in Sounkyo. The free shuttle bus between Asahikawa and the hotel has provided great convenience to us. The hotel’s buffet breakfast and lunch are tasty with a wide variety of options, although the group tourists will make it crowded and disorderly…
The room facilities, due to the age of the hotel, are apparently old and outdated, which need to be renovated.

location was fantastic. short walk to tramway and hiking trails. reminds me of a giant upscale lodge in US national forest. great outdoor onsen. HUGE very good buffet for breakfast and lunch. caters to bus tours as well as individual travelers. was able to somehow avoid the busload groups in onsen and buffet so actually trip was relaxing and peaceful . saw best fall foliage on trip here. was originally assigned room that had no view . Was able to go to front desk and after studying the reservations for a while they kindly switched rooms to a great view over the canyon.
original room had no view - but they were able to switch us to nicer room

Upgrade to the room with a private onsen, we originally had booked a Tatami room and it was bleak. Hospital lighting, dirty room etc. When asked for an upgrade, the staff was extremely efficient and it was worth every penny. There are really two sides to this hotel, so pick well!
The oldest part of the hotel is really dirty and needs to be refurbished. The buffet is pretty average

The decor of the rooms appeared older but was clean and well kept. The shared spaces were up to date and very clean. absolutely loved the three different type of onsens. The buffet breakfast and dinner were delicious with a lot of variety for all types of diet types. The hotel's location was ideal and quite close to the rope way. It's 40 min walk away from the waterfalls. there is a photography musem near that was perfect for a rainy day when we couldn't do much hiking.

The hotel is beutifull, facilities are nice and the 2 onsens with the view are amazing!!! Didnt went ro the 3d one.. Close to the main activities of this part of daisetsuzan- kuradake hike and the falls. Its a bit far from all the other hotels in this area in the best way possible. Staff will do everything they can to help :)
Food wasnt as good as it says, wasnt in to the buffet.. The hotel itself is a bit old in some parts but it should get renovaited soon.

friendly staff, great Japanese style experience. Confortable room. Great food. Loved the Japanese Yukata that was available in the room. Great Onsen. Beautiful hotel. Attention to details. Great service.
Some of the items in the room were old style (like the safe box and some others). The bathroom is very small - but I could shower at the Onsen. There was only Japanese tea in the room (would have liked some coffee in the morning, begore breakfast)

Great place with superb facilities.
Check-in reception was not particularly pleasant. The employee was trying to show off his knowledge of French, which wasn't great, and when we arrived at around 01:30pm, and asked whether we could grab a bite, he said that wasn't possible - in an establishment of this size and position, that's hard to understand.

It was clean and comfortable. The food was great.
In stead of using futon, they use egg crate foam for mattress at tatami room. I doubled up and layer the comforter over the egg crate foam to be comfortable. Need to get rid of mold in bathroom using vinegar or bleach.Do not recommend tatami room.
