The hotel offers a convenient shuttle service to pick you up from the train station. Buffet breakfast has a huge variety of options including: eggs, sausages, bacon, coffee, juice, croissants and cereals. Also: hot food, rice, soups, fish, veggies, etc. It’s right next to the ski slope and lift. The Onsen baths were superb, very clean, the view is beautiful from the outdoor one and there are amenities for your convenience.

The Japanese style room was beautiful and it’s a good experience. However, if you are used to a soft bed and pillows it’s not a good idea because they are very firm.

The location was great and there was free shuttle bus service for pickup. We were able to get help from the tourist center at Echigo-Yuzawa Station to call for shuttle bus pickup.

The ski equipment for rental can be better. Its abit old and out of date and prices were not competitive despite staying at their hotel.

An old-style hotel with friendly staff. I stayed on the Japanese Style room and it is very spacious, with a private bathroom, all facilities and furnitures. Good for a family but too big for a solo traveler. The breakfast was good also. The price is honest for the location and also for the fact that it is out of season.

Maybe because it was an older hotel, some things didn't seem so clean. Some furnitures also looked a lot worn but had no problems. The futon was beside the air conditioning system and it's a little uncomfortable to stay there. Few outlets available.

We took the shinkansen to Echigo Yuzawa station, and then called the hotel from the customer service kiosk in the station. The shuttle arrived within 5 minutes. The ski in/out is for Yuzawa Kogen resort, not Gala Yuzawa, just FYI. The dinner buffet was so good, it was worth paying the extra money. We got a room with 4 western beds that overlooked the Yuzawa Kogen slopes and it was perfect! We went sledding, rented some gear downstairs of the hotel. They also rent jackets etc so if you come here without anything, they'll rent it out to you!

If you go to Gala Yuzawa, the hotel shuttle doesn't start running early enough for you to make it to Gala by 8am. We had a hard time getting a taxi, eventually we did ($10USD), but it was also hard to figure out when the shuttle was coming back to the hotel from Gala, so we took a taxi. If I come back here, I would just ski at Yuzawa Kogen ski resort, it was more our speed anyway (beginners). There is one microwave for the entire hotel.

Location was very convenient to the train station and Gala Yuzawa Ski Resort. The room is spacious and comfortable. The free shuttle service to and from the hotel was really nice. Very nice staff. I enjoyed the outdoor onsen the best at this hotel. My fiance forgot his Apple Watch in the room after we checked out and the staff were very friendly and let us retrieve it hours after we checked out.

Hotel is older and you have to use a physical key to enter the room and always have to lock it before you leave. Breakfast was Japanese style and had limited options for western food so if you are American like us, it's best to look for other breakfast options out of the hotel. The closest free shuttle to Gala Yuzawa Ski Resort is at the Yuzawa Kogen station which is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Wish there was a shuttle service from the hotel to the Gala Yuzawa Ski Resort.

Location was great to access Yuzawa Kogen Ski Area next to hotel. Rented skis at hotel, got discount lift ticket at front desk, walked out the back door and skied to the rope way or bunny slope which are next to each other. Able to do easy walk to business area for choice of restaurants between train station and hotel. Staff was very helpful.

Seemed to be a place high school groups come to for a ski outing. So pretty busy with high school kids wondering about. Not bad, just a kid of school outing vibe.

The hotel is walking distance to Echigo Yuzawa Station. Unlike dedicated hotels with ski resorts where we are always in the hotel, we can venture out from the hotel for food, outside aki rentals, convenience store, as well as souvenir shops all within walking distance. The staff was great as well as the free shuttle bus to and from the hotel. Sleeping on the floor mattresses was also a good experience and we really liked it.

In the pictures, the rooms looked way bigger than the actual rooms.

We stayed for three nights in traditional Japanese rooms. The rooms were lovely, and the staff turn down service was appreciated getting the futons out for us. We paid for half board however, next time I think we will just go with breakfast and walk down to town to eat and experience the variety of food available.

Bathrooms are a bit dated and the place needs an update but you can’t beat the location…ski in ski out.

The breakfast is amazing in this hotel. it's very cozy and the food quality is quite good considering the room rate. Rice is a must eat in this region! amazing quality of rice!!!! with some curry, it's a great morning comfort food! the Room is super super spacious, compare to other hotels i stayed in Osaka and Tokyo. 's get plenty of room for ur ski or snowboarding equipment to spread around the room! the bath house is one of the BEST amenity of this hotel. great way to recover from a long tiresome ski day.!

the shower room in the room is a bit old. other than that. i have no complain. if i do have to nig-pick on stuff, is probably the modernization of the hotel. it is a bit dated, as they still use Keys instead of key cards.... lol
