I had a great time in Hakodate and I loved my stay there. When looking for a hotel, I was a bit worried about the hotel's situation as it seemed isolated between the train station and the area around Mt Hakodate but it was certainly a good decision to choose this hotel as it is closer to the usual tourist areas than station-centered hotels would be. Three konbini are also easily accessible in a 7-min radius. My room was super spacious with a decent sized bathroom and a marvelous view towards the beautiful Mt Hakodate ! A microwave and juices / drinks are available in the lobby for those interested and a laundry room is also usable for an additional charge. Don't hesitate to check out the rooftop with a 360-degree view. Truly breathtaking and a great photo spot. Tips for other travellers : the A/C is controlled by a panel that was placed between the beds (in my room at least) that also controls the lights while the thermostat was placed on the wall, above one of the beds. This is outside the walls of the hotel but for IC cards bearers, the tram can be payed with them (tap when you enter and when you get off). Also, you might need some snow cleats in the winter (some konbini have them). The snow can turn icy and then welcome to the ice rink when trying to walk in the streets or slopes of Motomachi. Finally, I wanted to thank the Australian-sounding young lady that was on duty several shifts when I stayed at this hotel as I had a great time chatting with her on several occasions. I wish her the best for the future !
The bathroom might need an upgrade when it comes to the faucet. I felt like a mixing faucet would be more hygienic / practical. My main issue when in the room was the soundproofing between floors that I found a bit lacking. For those with sound sensitivity, bring some earplugs. It felt like baby elephants could be heard for a few hours at night when my neighbours were moving around... I don't know how much of it has to do with people being careful or not as it was super quiet one night and not so much so the two other nights.

Room: You can tell the building is a little aged, but very well maintained. The room was very clean and everything worked perfectly (kettle, mini fridge, etc.) and the water pressure in the shower was great. We could also access the roof on the seventh floor to get a great view of Hakodate. Staff: The staff were extremely friendly, one of them could speak English, and they were nice enough to give us a room around 30 minutes earlier than their regular check-in time, which was 3pm. Others: They have complementary coffee in the lobby that's available 24/7, and bath salts too, which I was pleasantly surprised to see.
The television was a little too small to watch comfortably from the bed. Also, it's a tough 15 minutes+ walk from Hakodate Station, especially in the summer heat and with luggage. And they use physical keys instead of cards, which I'm fine with but some people may not like that.

I like the friendliness of the staff. They gave me a personal welcome letter which was very nice and cute! They even wrote thank you in my native language. :) Bravo to the staff. I like how spacious the room was. They've got coffee 24 hours and free juice in the afternoon. The laundry was a nice addition. The hotel is very clean and functional though not modern. The area is exactly in the middle between the mountain and Jr station so walking to each side is doable between 10-15 minutes walking only. But it is a very quiet area. If it wasn't in Japan I'd be scared to walk back. Umbrella is available at the reception. They give free bath salt which is like in every hotel in Japan which is fantastic. In front of the hotel have this very delicious soba restaurant is a must try!!! They don't open every day and only open from 11-3pm. No English speaking or menu, so need a translating app.
The pillows were quite hard was difficult to sleep.. that's about it. Other than that it was worth the money and was fantastic.

The best impression I got was from the man at reception. He was very friendly and helpful, he even came to my room to try and fix a WiFi issue. I appreciated it! I liked the roof terrace, it was a cute addition I don't usually see at hotels. The drink service in the lobby was also a nice extra.
It's a little far from the station (about 10-15 minutes on foot), but it is close to the tram line, and within walking distance to Hakodateyama. I had some mysterious trouble with WiFi at the start but that was OK finally.

Though it was not suited near the main train station, it is still easily accessible, 2 tram station away from the main station if I remember correctly. I stayed only for a night but it was almost a perfect stay. Very value for money. Absolutely recommendable for a stay if staying near the main train station is not a must for you.
There’s nothing I do not like about the accommodation.

Really great all round - lovely staff and ample facilities on check in, large and cozy room to keep the Hokkaido chill out, comfy beds to relax after walking halfway around town because it’s so close to so much that Hakodate has to offer.
There was something at night that would occasionally turn on quite loudly for a few minutes at a time; my guess is either the fridge or water heater. It was never enough to wake me up, nor was it enough to mark down this review, but it was enough to stop me from getting to sleep until it stopped one night.

Room was very spacious, clean and no frills. Staff provided help whenever asked, and were generally very friendly. Laundry room was clean, and easy to use. There was also a little lounge area near the lobby, which had drinks (coffee, tea, milk, juices) free for guests, and a microwave for use.
Located a little far from the main attractions, but was okay if you prefer the quiet and you enjoy walking. There's a tram stop very nearby, so it's convenient to take that too.

it was a comfortable stay with lovely staff and good facilities. Well located as well between the morning fish markets and the Kanemori Red Brick Warehouse. They even provide you with bath salts as part of the amenities.
I didn't mind it and thought it was quite charming, but it is a bit dated.

Friendly staff, clean comfortable rooms, good location. Not right in a busy central area but access to tram and walking distance to central area and other areas of interest.
The rooftop area could really be a lot more inviting. Add some greenery and chairs and it would be lovely to sit, have a drink and look out at the view. At the moment it is just a concrete area but good for kids to drive the toy cars.

We stayed at the Suite with the Sauna as 5 people. Out of all the hotels we've visited on our trip the Suite was the most spacious one! The Sauna made everything even better!
There was a tiny quiet ticking sound (every 30~ seconds) inside of one bedroom - thankfully we had earplugs.
