The attention to detail from the moment we checked in. The room was huge with a beautiful view and an outdoor hot tub. The food was amazing.

There was a loud screeching noise in the dining room. You can get there with a bus, but I would recommend using a car as its a long walk from the bus stop (especially if its raining)

The staff went above and beyond my expectations. To start, I had a lot of questions and concerns prior to the stay, even up to the day before! All of my questions were answered as swiftly as possible (given the time difference). When even I was in Japan, they replied within the next few hours! I should also note that I used both English and machine translated Japanese to make things a bit easier. The rooms were fantastic! I had 3 rooms booked, one with an outside bath (not onsen), one with an onsen, and a regular room. The regular room looked like a regular western hotel room (NOT a japanese business hotel room so you actually have space to move around!). The room with the onsen is in a separate building across the street. The onsen can fit 2 people comfortable and has a nice view of a private garden. The room is also quite spacious with a living room area. The room with the outdoor bath is the biggest of the 3 we booked. The bath was large enough for a single person to stretch out and take a nap. I was the only to use the bath so I can't say how many people can fit comfortably. In terms of the other facilities, there's two public onsens (public in the sense that any guest can use it). There's a large and "small" bath, separated by men and women and rotated throughout the day. While knowing the kanji for men and women would generally be useful, the colored banners reflect which one is which and the large onsen is labeled. The "small" onsen isn't really small. It can comfortable fit a good amount of people. It's small in the sense that the larger one has 2 onsens, one of the same size and one that's smaller but also outside. I personally like the outside onsen. The restaurant is spacious and wasn't overcrowded (I'm guessing there's multiple dinner times). The dinner and breakfast menus were absolutely delicious! Lastly, the staff are super accommodating!

The staff were very helpful and communicated with us in English. The room was very large, with an entry way, a large room, shower, and patio with private soaking bath. Since we had the private bath, instead of using the public one, we used the private one on our patio. It had a nice view out to nature. The shower itself was very large and also had a direct door to the patio and bath. We had the breakfast there and it was very filling and delicious.

Could not have loved this place more, it was the highlight of our whole trip. Amazing comfy bed with a lovely view. In the morining I had a relaxing soak in the lovely private bath on my balcony, which was surrounded by trees and birds singing, as the sun came up - absolutley perfect. Lovely traditional breakfast! The staff were really friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. Several of them spoke very good English. We paid to have a kaiseki dinner at the hotel and this was a wonderful experience - amazing food and we had such a lovely evening. Wish we could have stayed at this place for a week!

We were a bit worried before we went that it is a little out of the way so a bit of effort was required to get there via public transport from Tokyo - 2 trains and a local bus - but it was very easy to do the journey using google maps and the journey was part of the fun! And it was ABSOLUTELY worth the effort to get there, this place was just wonderful.

Very nice hotel, you get a welcome drink when you check in, the dinner is very much a recommendation from our site. Delicious and a nice event. If you stay there, book the dinner! The onsen is small but hot and clean. The rooms are clean and beautiful. Not the largest, but large enough. The staff is helpful and friendly. We would stay there again. We stayed in more expensive hotels in that area which where much worse in terms of service and quality of... everything.

Nothing to complain.

Quite simply from the very second we entered the property we were excellently attended to.The staff were flexible to explain everything in English and friendly. Room was quiet and comfortable in every way; mattress, mini-sofa, amenities and bathroom. Menu was adapted to our allergies in a very creative and delicious way. Usually allergies to seafood are solved in Japan with “here’s some tofu and vegetables”. Not so with Fuga chefs. Every dish was exquisite and the staff amiable. I recently dined at Mandarin Oriental in Tokyo and their Michelin chefs failed creatively when providing alternative dishes compared to Fuga chefs. Outstanding. Impeccably clean room and public areas; fantastic food and the whole ambience was to leave the guests to enjoy it.

In truth, nothing to improve about the property or service. Maybe some updated access options on the website. You can catch a Romance Car from Shinjuku to Hakone-Yumoto then a bus which would be easier than going to Odawara then taking a bus. Small point but overseas tourists prefer convenience and luxury.

Lots of space and tasteful design! It was one of the largest rooms I’ve probably stayed in Japan. Comfortable beds, great amenities, chilled water in the fridge and a coffee maker! The highlight was the hinoki (?) bathtub overlooking the garden spacious entrance enough to stretch out legs and relax in hot water. Wish it was hot spring water, too but hot springs are only in the common area. Dinner was awesome with a great variety of small dishes still quite filling. For this who wish a chilled beer after onsen there’s a vending machine in the hallway. One day wasn’t enough, would love to come again.

The shower room door wasn’t closing properly and the AC was quite loud at night. Wish the hotel also had a western option for breakfast. Rice for dinner and than rice for breakfast was a bit too much. The quality of food was amazing though.

The location is remote to 30mins drive from Hakone. It was a really peaceful place, no kids were staying as it is adult only. Mostly couples staying, we selected to have breakfast and dinner during our stay as there isn't a lot of options available in the area.Food was really good.

The onsen baths that are available for guests staying at there aren't a variety of bath options. We had our own in our room on the balcony.

The Japanese are fond of very stiff beds and futons. If you are a fan of the soft pillow top mattresses found in the west, this will likely be the most comfortable bed you find in the country.

The temperature of the outdoor Onsen tubs are not adjustable, so bringing cold water from the tap, in the shower bucket may be recommended, if the heat is too intense.

The meals I had in the hotel were excellent. They were not only food but also presentation of the Japanese culture. The staff was very professional and friendly. The hot spring air bath on the balcony of the unit made the stay exceptional.

Nothing much to complain about.
