The room was large and comfortable. Facilities were shared but clean and suitable. Location was amazing. The staff are happy to keep your bags after check out while you explore before leaving Gora.

The shared bathroom became very busy in the AM and as it was all in one greater room (toilet, washing machine, shower) it made it difficult to use any of those facilities while someone else was in there. One reception team member was very accommodating and despite our language barrier we were able to check in and out with ease. Another staff member could have been a little more friendly.

We loved the pool and ping pong tables. Great location close to the train station and cable car. Easy to do laundry and helpful staff. Nice rooftop terrace. We can recommend taking the stairs down to Miyagino and the superb Tokyo sushi. We also loved the beautiful onsen Yuryo a few stops away with the train. Lots of locals and you can combine your bath with a nice dinner.

This is a perfect location. Very close to Gora Station with access to the railway to and from Hakone- Yamoto and cable trains up the mountain. The views from the rooftop terrace are fantastic. Easy walk to the Open Air Museum and Gora Park. All this plus a real authentic Japanese style room and experience. The welcome is friendly and thorough..be prepared to take off your outdoor shoes in the room. If you want to kick back and relax in the peaceful Japanese countryside after some city touring, this is ideal.

The toilets and shower are shared on each floor but it really wasn't a problem as they were never busy.

The room was good, the price was very reasonable and the location near Gora Station was fantastic

The bathroom and toilets were fine but they are in the main building rather than in the room, so it was a little awkward to have to leave your room to go to the bathroom or to the toilet, other than that it was good

The hostel has everything you need, rooms are good, common places are very good, it’s very near the train station, they were very helpful and nice.

We felt that the place has a lot of potential, it is lacking a bit of love, there are strange smells at some areas, everything seem a little old and not taken care of. The place is beautiful and hakone is beautiful, but they could improve a lot compared to Japan standard. Maybe prices should go down because of this and when they improve the structure, they could rise them again.

Beautiful tradition rooms with futons, clean facilities, cosy common area and rooftop chill out space with gorgeous views. Good location, close to the station and a few restaurants. Friendly staff.

Our second night was restless as we could hear Japanese people partying downstairs in the billiards and table tennis room. The noise went on until at least 2am, however it does say that the room closes at 10pm. It’s unfortunate but hopefully it’s just a one off.

The staff was very friendly, room was clean and really enjoyed the Japanese type room! The shared facilities (kitchen / washroom / other) were very nice and stylish. Absolutely loved the rooftop terrace, that was our highlight!

Everything was very good

excellent location, very near the mountain railway station but nice and quiet. The facility is decorated to give a very warm and cozy feeling, rooftop was great to chill out and watch the stars. Staff were very friendly and helpful and really make you feel at home. and also the welcome card, it’s welcoming. Highly recommended.

apart from that it could be easy to miss the building in the evening (as there is no light sign board but the name of the guest house written on the wall) I have nothing that I don’t like about it.

Big private hostel room- clean & comfortable. Shared toilet & bathroom was fine- only 5 rooms on the floor so no issues with needing to wait . Rooftop area looked nice, although we were only in the room for about 8 hours, so didn’t get to see the facilities

Not a fan of futon beds- but we knew they were when we booked. Need to advise that rooms are upstairs with no lift

My room was very cosy and clean and the AC worked extra ordinary good (heating). The guest house is close to the train station and I didn't mind that it has no Onsen.

Some stuff is a little worn down but comparing the prices for other accommodations I have the arwa that's quite fine
