We booked the room with a private onsen and a view of Mount Fuji and it was lovely! Spacious, clean, with good amenities. Staff was friendly and courteous. Unfortunately, I didn’t get his name but the male receptionist was especially helpful during our stay!

The buffet and location. While there was a good variety of Japanese and Western dishes, the food was just okay. We definitely couldn’t eat it more than 2 days in a row though since the menu barely changes. But more importantly the location. There are 2 ways to get here via public transportation, the Ubako bus stop and Ubako Ropeway. The ropeway is open dependent on weather conditions and we weren’t sure if we were allowed to have luggage so we opted for the bus. The traffic around the main street of Hakone is bad and it delays the bus tremendously, to the point where you can’t rely on the bus stop times listed. A shuttle from a train station would greatly help this issue.

Since we have tattoos, the private onsen with a view of Mt Fuji was great. Food in the food court was a good selection of western food and Japanese food. Plenty of soda, juice, coffee options. Everyone was very friendly. Would stay again.

The gardens outside were beautiful with blooming hydrangeas but it was little overgrown so the view of Mt Fuji was a little obstructed. The water in our outdoor never fully turned off... not a big deal. not my water. But the property is older so some minor maintenance things like that. These were not a big deal to us at all, but just thought other people should know it doesn't quite match the pictures anymore but we would still definitely stay here again.

Breakfast and dinner is buffet style, tasty and lots of choices. Onsen in the room is great! Beds are comfortable.

Location is not convenient, especially when the cable car service is stopped. Some decoration inside the hotel is quite old.

Outside onsen was really nice Big variety of food in dinner including western and vegetarian options Overall good value for money in the area

The whole hotel is a bit outdated, including Onsen area Food is not very fancy, there is indeed a lot of variety but the quality is not great Staff members weren’t so welcoming

The Mt Fuji views were amazing. We enjoyed the onsen experience each day. The ropeway was easy to get to and took us to the lake and into gora, so we could explore surrounding attractions. There was a beautiful Christmas performance with a pianist, violinist and viola player, as well as complimentary Christmas drinks at dinner. The buffet breakfast and dinner had a good variety of Japanese and Japanese style Western food - all very good quality and fresh. Staff were lovely.

The location was both great and challenging. The closest transport is the ropeway- like a cable car- and signage stated last trip 4.15pm. The buses didn’t run to the timetable and after waiting 50 minutes for a bus (3 didn’t show), we missed the last trip- walked the 20 minutes back to the hotel up a very steep hill. Few taxis available and the hotel shuttle phone number went to message bank. Despite this hiccup, we loved our time at hotel green plaza.

The onsen was the highlight of this stay. The facilities were very clean, and has an outdoor onsen with views of Mt Fuji. Food was very nice, with Western and Japanese variety, however there are not many vegetables. The room itself was very comfortable and clean. The front desk staff were also extremely friendly and helpful. If you are arriving from Hakone Yumoto station but want to explore Hakone before checking in, you can send your luggages to the hotel.

The location is a little tricky if you do not drive, as the bus stop is a walk away, but is expected as it is in the mountains. While it is close to Ubako ropeway station, the walk is similar to a nature hike, so please keep that in mind if you have mobility issues or luggages.

The view is excellent. You do see Fuji on a clear day. The hotel is remote, but you have a bus that will get you close to the hotel. (It runs until 7 pm, so you need to pay attention so you won't miss the last one). The rail line for attractions around Hakone has a stop near the hotel, which was convenient. The hotel is clear and stuff are nice.

The hotel was relatively expansive, preserved, and well-maintained but outdated (electric sockets availability, etc.). The bathroom was small. Food at dinner was fine, but there were no alternatives since it was not near anything else.

Our family absolutely loved this hotel, with the staff being particularly friendly and helpful. The onsen was good, our room big by Japanese standards with a great view of the amazing scenery, and though the hotel is quite remote, the ropeway is next door, there's a bus stop at the end of the road, and there's also a hotel shuttle bus, or they'll happily book a taxi for you. As vegetarians, the buffet-style breakfast and dinner gave us a good amount of options, though if we'd have stayed more than the two nights, we might have started to find it a bit samey. If you're heading to Hakone, we'd definitely recommend

Our family group of 13 thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Green Plaza. The views of Mount Fuji were amazing, staff were extremely helpful, the onsens were great and dressing up in the provided clothes for dinner and Mt fuji photos was a great experience for all. The pianist playing in the evening was also lovely. We arrived at Odawara Station and we ended up taking a taxi to the Hotel. It is a long winding taxi ride but definently worth it. When we left we got the complimentary transfer from the hotel to the cable car station and took the cable car to Lake Ashi then the boat cruise on the Lake.
