We were there for one week, so they gave us a bigger, corner room. Loved the hot spring, ice cream, yakult, soba, and free laundry machines! The staff were nice and it was a very enjoyable stay for my daughter and I!

I think it used to be a smoking hotel, because the hallways and rooms smelled a bit like stale cigarettes. I don’t know that they can do much, as it is probably embedded in the walls.

When we first saw the hotel, my daughter was a bit disappointed. It looked uninspiring and cramped. I warned her not to judge a book by its cover, and boy, was I right! At check-in, we were greeted like VIPs. Though we were a bit early, the clerk took terrific care of us. Each time we came down to the desk, they were kind and courteous. It is a warm hotel. The last time we came to Himeji, we stayed at a hotel that also had a hot spring, but the staff could hardly have been called warm. In fact, I would have called it Soviet-style hospitality. At the Dormy Inn, the staff was dynamic, energetic, eager to please... just perfect. Despite its modest outward appearance, the Dormy Inn is a true gem of a hotel.

Perhaps it would have been nice if they had a staircase. I think the hotel was very full, so at times, it was a bit hard to catch the elevator, but believe me, this is hardly a big problem. The elevators are fast.

Great location close to the station and a short walk from the castle. very friendly staff. parking for several cars (uses car lift so size limits apply). Great Japanese breakfast choice. Free ramen from 21.30-2300 every evening. roof spa (didn’t see or use though as stated only one night). Rooms a little dated but perfectly fine.

Floor 11 suffers from a bit of noise from top floor spring bath equipment. not massively noisy, but could disrupt a light sleeper. runs all night.

This hotel is just amazing in every respect: the staff, the wide choice of delicious food for breakfast, the complimentary treats available from the hotel, and not to forget the natural thermal water onsen on the top floor. If you stay there, do not miss this!!! Relaxing in the hot water under the starry night sky, impossible to describe.

The indoor and outdoor facilities on top of the hotel were excellent! The midnight snack was a big portion of ramen freshly prepared at the hotel restaurant. The room was quite big and very clean and comfortable. We dropped off the luggage before check in and it was put to our room when we got back from the day trip.

Staff seemed to struggle serving me even though I spoke Japanese. They seemed very nervous. Having to hand your key in every time you leave is a minor nuisance.

Family connected room had lots of space and all the freebies like the onsen, yoghurt, ice cream and noodles were amazing!

The double room we also booked was much smaller but still clean and comfortable

I liked the onsen and the refreshments. The breakfast buffet was a good variety of Japanese food and western. we were very pleased. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

There was no coffee in the room however there was free coffee in reception.

Hotel located very close to Himeji station, as with all the hotels of the same chain, it offers onsen, free ice-cream and ramen in the evening.

Onsen is a bit small

The onsen. Room is bigger than expected. The onsen is good with indoor, outdoor area.

Only 1 pillow per bed. I shared bed with my child and had a hard time sleeping without pillow.
