I always like the Dormy Inn hotels. This one in Himeji is also great : the room is clean and enjoyable, the view is nice. They give you free dessert and after the onsen you can also take free yogurt and ice cream and noodle at night. They have all the facilities and equipement you need. The emplacement is great because it's really close to the main train station. They can keep your luggage if needed. You will feel safe as a solo traveller.

It was the first time an employee asks me if I have any tatoo during check-in ..... because I have a small one they gave me a patch to cover it in the onsen. I was very surprised so be carefull if you have lots of them because you definetly can't go to onsen in this hotel ! The bed and pillow quality wasn't the most confortable and there is only a little isolation so you can hear the room next to you. They are only two elevators so it can be quite slow sometimes.

Exceptionally convenient location for the train station. Great staff service too - including an extra touch of putting our luggage in the room (we had dropped it off before check in time). Good hot spring facilities and the smart TV was a nice touch.

Some of the room furnishings were a little worn out and the hotel could use another elevator, some of the waits were a little long at busy times.

The location was perfect. Just a short walk through the central part of the city to the Castle. I highly recommend walking from the hotel to the castle at night. There are lots of restaurants and convenience stores very close by. The free ramen was great. Served by the loveliest chef in Japan. The breakfast was incredible. The onsen was lovely. All the staff were so friendly. So glad we stayed here.

Very close to the Shinkansen station and we could walk to the castle, great friendly and helpful staff. breakfast was a very nice surprise they seemed to have everything. comfortable room if a little dated. but we would stay again and I had no complaints. it served the purpose as a stop over perfectly. I didn't go the the public baths but my son said it was clean and relaxing.

The rooms are just a little small for two people great for one.

We were there for one week, so they gave us a bigger, corner room. Loved the hot spring, ice cream, yakult, soba, and free laundry machines! The staff were nice and it was a very enjoyable stay for my daughter and I!

I think it used to be a smoking hotel, because the hallways and rooms smelled a bit like stale cigarettes. I don’t know that they can do much, as it is probably embedded in the walls.

I really loved staying at this hotel. The onsen was such a nice way to relax after a long day of exploring Himeji. The room is consistent in size with most hotels in Japan and had a good layout. I especially loved the free ramen and ice cream in the evenings. Incredible value. Great location (very close walk to Himeji shinkansen station)

Natural spring was amazing! One of the better hotels with a public bath that I’ve been to. Breakfast was also very good! Convenient location for getting to station and Himeji Castle.

Chair in the room was a bit outdated, and not the best view with just a building.

When we first saw the hotel, my daughter was a bit disappointed. It looked uninspiring and cramped. I warned her not to judge a book by its cover, and boy, was I right! At check-in, we were greeted like VIPs. Though we were a bit early, the clerk took terrific care of us. Each time we came down to the desk, they were kind and courteous. It is a warm hotel. The last time we came to Himeji, we stayed at a hotel that also had a hot spring, but the staff could hardly have been called warm. In fact, I would have called it Soviet-style hospitality. At the Dormy Inn, the staff was dynamic, energetic, eager to please... just perfect. Despite its modest outward appearance, the Dormy Inn is a true gem of a hotel.

Perhaps it would have been nice if they had a staircase. I think the hotel was very full, so at times, it was a bit hard to catch the elevator, but believe me, this is hardly a big problem. The elevators are fast.

Great location close to the station and a short walk from the castle. very friendly staff. parking for several cars (uses car lift so size limits apply). Great Japanese breakfast choice. Free ramen from 21.30-2300 every evening. roof spa (didn’t see or use though as stated only one night). Rooms a little dated but perfectly fine.

Floor 11 suffers from a bit of noise from top floor spring bath equipment. not massively noisy, but could disrupt a light sleeper. runs all night.
