The location is incredibly convenient, the staff are lovely, the room was beautiful, the building is lovely and the breakfast was divine. I really can't say enough good things.

My only two gripes are that (at least in the family room) there is next to no sound insulation. You can hear absolutely everything. Every cough, sneeze foot fall and yawn. The building also shakes when a heavy vehicle goes past. The other issue is that the futon I had was quite thin so I woke up sore where my hip rib and shoulder bones had been digging into the floor. I know the sound issue can't be helped with such an old building, but it's worth considering if you're a light sleeper.

Pros are 1. Located in the old town area 2. has a few parking lots 3. very clean, a good breakfast.

Cons are 1. no bath shower in the room. You have to pre book your 1 hour shower slot. 2. the futon was rather thin and not comfortable and the pillow was too small. 3. no 2 bottles of water provided. These are cheap basics. 4. no kettle provided despite providing some tea bags. 5. no elevators, so need to climb up sleep stairs if your room is upstairs.

Very convenient, the bus stop was right outside the hotel, and its along a bus route for a beautiful shrine! The rooms and facilities were spacious, tidy, and clean. I loved the small public lounge area too. Staff were very sweet and helpful! They can speak English ☺️

They don't have USB outlets in the room, so bring your own! I asked the front desk for one and they gladly me lent me theirs though, so not a big problem!

We absolutely loved our stay here. Looking back at our trip it was definitely one of our favourites. The private onsen is lovely and the complimentary tea, coffee and hot chocolate is a nice touch. We opted for the breakfast and even that was 10/10. Super close to the bell tower and little edo. We’ve recommended to our friends already. The owner and her son were both very friendly. We felt at home.

The place had an amazing feeling to it, the place was spotless and the staff very helpful. It's located near the old town of Koedo in Kawagoe, accessible by foot in 2 minutes. The bath was a private bath which was very confortable for us foreigners unused to sharing a bath with strangers. The room was very confortable with the fluffiest futon we encountered during our stay (even better than 5 stars hotels) and the breakfast was not to be missed. We highly recommend this place to stay there, for this price we didn't expect so much !

The only problem we encountered was that free parking may be crowded, in that case a parking is available 30 meters away for 800 yen/day.

Amazing service. I was traveling with elderly parents and when our car rental plan fizzled out (no cars available), front desk helped us call other rental car companies and taxi companies to suit our needs. Also amazing beef restaurant attached and very good bath facilities and explanations so you don't feel like a lost traveller. Location is also top notch.

I really did not understand the concept of no toilets in your room in a Ryokan before this. They did mention 'no bath/toilet in room' when I booked, but a nice touch would be something like 'traditional Japanese ryokans typically have a public bath and communal toilets, please confirm that you are OK with having your shower/bath room a distance from your room and your toilet outside your room. Otherwise please be sure to book the room that have toilets/bath'.

We had an amazing stay here. We loved the traditional Ryokan experience of the bath and futon beds. The restaurant meal of the Beef Set was a highlight of our trip, never had such melt in your mouth beef before! The Japanese breakfast the next day was so delightfully served. Location to Candy Lane and the Bell Tower is fantastic !

The breakfast was excellent, delicious and good value. The lady who checked us in kindly gave us directions to the convenience store and recommended a restaurant for dinner. We walked from the ryokan to the shops, dinner, bell tower and Starbucks, so the air conditioning in our room was welcoming and made our stay comfortable. It's a great location!

Very near to all the Kawagoe's attraction places, we visited the attractions by walking. The breakfast is nice, it is a traditional Japanese breakfast. We had an hour to enjoy the private bath as well. The staff there are nice, and they allowed us to leave our luggage in the ryokan after we checked out.

There is no lift in the ryokan so we had to carry our huge luggage to the second floor from the stairs.

It a good Ryokan managed by a family..The room was a good size for 2..we had a room on the 1st floor and no toilet..Toilet and bathroom were common but was not a problem. The property is very close to the old town. Lot of good places to eat close by. You could ask the owner to guide you as per your preference.
