The room was very good and quite big compared to other hotels in Japan. I want to highlight that the staff was always very helpful and nice with us, also they speaking English was a plus. The location was very good, it counts with connections via bus or train to go to touristic places like Kinkakuji, Gion or Fushimi Inari, and it's only 15 min away from Kioto Station. The happy hour was very nice, many people attend and it makes a happy environment in the hotel. Also, there is an area with tables, chairs and microwave where you can eat your own food. Lastly, the hotel is pet friendly, which I also find as a plus :)

I would implement a waiting list for the washing machines, otherwise it can get messy.

Decent hotel within a 10 minute walk of Kyoto station. The hotel was pleasant, the room was adequately sized and serviceable, cheap meals available in the lobby. Probably the best part was the free self serve all you can drink happy hour each evening and unlimited tea and coffee. Happy travellers :)

There is somewhat of a hostel/backpacker feel about the place, which is not a bad thing, but could be an issue if you're expecting a proper hotel. There was some disagreement on the price; I had to double check the price quoted on the confirmation which was less than what they told me at the desk. Be aware that there is also a hidden 'city tax' of 800 yen/night.

Clean, neat, good space and appliances. On 24-Oct-2024 around 8:45pm, I approached the counter for the second time to request for the bathroom glass door to be covered up for showerer's privacy. The staff, Chang Yi Hsuan immediately brought tape and sheets and provided a quick fix for us. She also promptly answered my parent's questions and provided the requested clothe hangers. She is fluent in both English and Mandarin, efficient in attending to customer's needs and very customer oriented. Excellent services from her!

On 23-Oct-2024 around 7:30pm, I approached the counter for the first time to request for the bathroom's glass door to be covered up for showerer's privacy. After I showed my room card (with room number) and described my requests, that male staff in his 18~20's did not seem to understand the whole situation, and zero action was taken after 24 hours. There was noone else approaching the counter, so he had no excuse (of claiming being "too busy"). Hotel IL Verde Kyoto, please re-train this staff. He was either incompetent in English communication, or forgetful or didn't care about customer's need at all.

The staff were excellent at the hotel , it is clean and fairly comfortable , breakfast has a very good varied choice. Evening happy hour was a bonus after a long day and the coffee and soft drinks availability at other times excellent. The room was clean tidy and fairly comfortable. The hotel location is very good for catching buses or the metro to other parts of the city to explore and there are food options locally.

As with Japanese hotel rooms, they are not the biggest. But this one had sufficient space to feel more comfortable. The beds are still fairly hard but had enough comfort level to allow for good sleep.

The location was fine for us, 12min walk to Kyoto station and a 23 min walk to the main shopping area. We were happy to walk around and get public transport to other areas. The bus outside takes you to the philosophers walk for example. The room was basic but glad we had the table and chair space. Wifi worked well, staff were helpful and friendly and happy hour is a great touch!

The sticker decorations on the walls were a little naff but we weren’t fussed. Space and bed comfort was similar to elsewhere in Japan in this level of hotel

The hotel was close to the train station and the canal streets with restaurants, but not so close to the shopping streets (aprox 20 minute walk). You had free soft drinks all through the day which was really nice and appreciated. If you stay 4 nights you have one free room clean and you can choose the day you want it, you can get new towels or amenities whenever you want.

It was not so close to the shopping streets (aprox 20 minute walk). The carpet in our room was dirty in some places, this might have been because of previous tourists that stay there.

Excellent staff, very helpful & polite. Very peaceful, a good nights sleep assured on the 5 nights we stayed there. WIFI stable and fast. Washing machines are a good option - best bet is to use the machines early in the morning as later in the day and evening it gets busy. Bus stops very near to the hotel. Subways a little further out - 10 mins walk, nice walk across the bridge to one of them.

The Hotel is around 15 minutes walk from the station and there isn't much nearby in terms of where to have an alternate breakfast. So for that reason I would opt for the Hotel breakfast which is very good indeed with an excellent choice. Also no convenience stores nearby.

Loved the customer service! Location was perfect for us: at walking distance from train station (15min), from city center (20min), from old town (30min). There is also underground stops at just 5 and 10min walk from the hotel. Although the best thing was the breakfast! It wasn't extensive but this made it easy and quick to grab and was actually very complete, with great quality food

The room was a bit small for us, as we travelled with large luggage but the value was great anyway so can't complaint at all!

Hotel is amazing despite the small room like all over Japan but the breakfast was so delicious and they serve variety of options with meet Halal option as well, their in house bakery was so delicious 😋 and the kitchen and reception staff was so helpful and kind The hotel houses exchange machine for a good rate in addition to vending and washing machines They provide full day hot and cold beverages at the lobby free of charge from 9 to 12 am in addition to free path salt bus stop is near buy in no the direction and Kyoto main train station is 8 min away and down town is 23 min away which make it a very good location Me and my friends we enjoyed our stay so much

No convenient store near by so you have to plan to buy whatever you want before heading back to the hotel

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Love that they offer free drinks from 9am and have a place for breakfast. The room had just enough space to open our luggages. Room was quiet - hardly heard any noises. Had most of the amenities we needed during our 2 day stay.

There are no convenience stores nearby (but the hotel does provide some food/amenities). Its about 15-20 minutes walk from Kyoto station so we mainly caught taxi/uber (costed around 800-1000yen each trip). Only 2 pillows for our queen bed.
