The staff members were so friendly and nice! They were very fluent and proficient in English but would support and encourage you if you tried to speak to them in Japanese. The facilities were all provided exactly as described. The detergent is very nice to use? There was this little saga of us not being able to open the bottle of detergent so the staff provided a change - five people tried to open it but to no avail... I guess even packaging in Japan is extremely high quality? Totally loved the traditional aesthetics, IRORI was so very cosy and comfortable.

The rooms were spotlessly clean but perhaps due to the limited ventilation in the bathroom, there was a moist toiletty smell coming from the bathroom. And the space in the room was just a little tight for laying down large suitcases so we had to move the chairs and tables a little to fit. But our stay was still really comfortable!! Please consider staying here especially if you're a budget traveller like us :)

The layout was great physically. The way the room was one long line with separate washing machine and toilet was great. The addition of a kitchen to cook in was a great value and we appreciated it, even if we didn't use it that much. The front desk attendants were super helpful and would accommodate any request you had, and they all had great English.

The Air conditioning was bad - very strong, but it blew directly in an alcove, and the way the bunk beds were set up, it felt like only a few of them got air while there was no air circulation throughout the room elsewise. The washing machine had a "Dry" function, but it's just a super-fast spin dry, combined with the lack of air circulation and drying racks meant that even if you washed something the day before, it would still be damp the next day, and you wouldn't be able to wash many things before running out of places to hang things to dry, especially coupled with Kyoto's natural humidity. Also, we don't know if it was because of the humidity or just how the toilet was set up, but there was liquid pooling around the base of the toilet after some time.

The accommodation was easy to access from Kyoto Station. Also, because of its proximity to the station, it was easy to travel around the city and to Nara and Osaka. I stayed with three other people, and the room was spacious and never felt crowded. The whole room was so clean, and the shower area is separate from the toilet, which was great. The water pressure was good for the shower. Also, the front desk staff were friendly and professional. We honestly loved this place and will definitely choose to stay here again!

Really nice room and rather spacious for Japanese standards (despite the bathroom which was tiny, but we enjoyed that the shower and toilet where separate). The staff was really friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is in close proximity to the JR train station (10-15 minute walk) which is ideal for trips around Kyoto (e.g. Nara).

There is a washing machine in the room. Unfortunately, it did not really clean our clothes and the dryer function did not work. The room is rather dim with rather bad lightening.

No windows, however did have a balcony - unfortunately it was facing a wall of another building. This door was also closed, I could only think that it's due to health and safety.

Room and location were fine. Clean, easy to get around. The thing that stood out was the people. The girls that ran the front desk were very helpful. In particular, Satoka Yamaguchi was as kind as anybody could be. She helped my wife and daughter with their Kimono .. making sure it was perfect. She took the extra time to help us and was most gracious. They made all the difference and made an impact on our stay in Kyoto. Thank You !!

Very good location, very friendly and helpful staff, room layout, functional kitchen and good laundry machine and drying rack.

Although the room is pretty clean, but not as through as other places we stayed in Japan. e.g. spider web on corner of the top shelf near the kitchen, area around the washing machine. Not impacting our stay, but noticeable for people who pay attention.

It's near a convenience store, close to Bus Stop, and Don Quijote is walking Distance. The owners were really friendly and nice, they allowed us to check-in before time. It was raining outside so it meant a lot to us!

This is the 2nd time I stay in this hotel. All things were great. There are simple kitchen, laundry, bath, in the room. Cleaning condition was great also. If I have chance visit to Kyoto. i will choose this hotel again. Thanks

If could arrange cleaning sevices for those tourists stay in 3 nights would be better.

Location was very convenient to Kyoto Station. The room was wonderful!! Loved the bunk beds! Would stay here again! Also appreciated that when we got there early to leave our bags as we explored the area, when we returned later in the day our bags were already in our room - very kind of them to do that.
