We are a family of 3 visiting Kyoto for a week. We like that we all have our own space (two bedrooms with toilet upstairs and a small kitchen bathroom, living room downstairs) and a small kitchen to cook when we do not want to eat outside. There are two nearby metro/train stations. Kyoto station is 10min away on foot, it's still acceptable to walk with bulky luggage. Shichijō Station is closer which is 5min away on foot.

Overall it's quite good. Although I could faintly hear noise from guests in another connected house that they run up and down the stairs early in the morning (5am...). The kitchen is a bit small but it's still ok to cook some simple stuff.

It had a beautiful traditional feel while still having all the modern comforts. Great amount of space, perfect for a small family or a couple. At the end of each day, we looked forward to getting to getting back to relax. We wish we left Tokyo earlier just to stay here for longer!

A minor annoyance was that the shower required you to sit on a stool and hang your head over the bath, but the bath more than made up for this. The doorways are incredibly low. At 6'1 I ended up hitting my head a lot, but that was due to chasing a toddler around.

It was a great apartment - had everything we needed and was very clean. Nice location on the little river, easy for walking around or taking the train up to Gion. Lovely bathroom facilities. Kitchen facilities were small but useful, enabled us to cook for ourselves on an evening when we’d done enough city roaming.

The property was clean but did smell a bit dank, and - no doubt like much other Kyoto accommodation in the ‘eel house’ style, had views only of walls and very little daylight. Didn’t really bother us though - it was a nice cool retreat from the heat. For westerners like us, one additional chair (so we each had one) would have been nice.

The house have tatami around. It's clean and simply. It's a Muji style. 2 rooms one living with 2 toilet 1 bath fulfill the small family stay. Space is enough for small family of 4. Which included kitchen n washing machines. It's good enough to stay.

The charging plug is less for traveller especially we have more than one gadgets nowadays. individual room have one or two plug. Living room only one plug. For those from oversea, the converter itself no space enough for 2 slot even the wall have 2 slot. Unless we bring extension.

Nice quiet street. Great to have a place not in a densley populated hotel and having something larger than just a hotel room. We enjoyed being able to run a nice hot bath to soke our tired bodies after long days of site seeing.

A bit of a walk to Kyoto station. Although close to buses. The stairs are a little steep and doors a little low.

It’s a wonderful apartment with everything you need. It’s very spacious, clean, the kitchen is fully equipped and the washing machine is a big bonus. It has a great charme with its Japanese-style rooms, bath and both very comfortable western beds as well as tatami beds.

Beautiful traditional Japanese apartment in a very lovely neighborhood.

The living room felt cramped and could had more lighting. Also I think the price of the accommodation was too high for the apartment. I expected more for such a price.

The host was available for all our needs and answers very fast. We had separate rooms for us and our baby. The host arranged a futon in the tatami room for our baby which was safe and gave us some privacy after his bed time witch is a luxury in Japan hotels :)

Enjoyed staying in a small house in Kyoto. Very nice bathroom and has all amenities. One room has futons and the other has a regular bed and desk. Prompt response from host when asking questions. Would work well for a family up to 2 kids.

Untreated wood prevalent in the house. Although by design it can lead to mould build up. Had to run the fan all the time in the bathroom to suppress the scent of mould. Not off putting but noticeable.

location, ease of access, traditional aesthetic with modern comforts.

The futon may have been a little hard for my friend, more coffee sachets would have been good, and it would be nice to walk in with the heating on but overall, great stay!
