Everything was great for the price point! I couldn't fault our stay. The beds and pillows were super comfortable. Super clean and new. Their amenities counter, including toiletries, was well stocked. Water bottles available for each night. Good sound proofing even though we were near the elevators. The Shijo Omiya location was super convenient to access the Randen tramway, Hankyu line, and many city buses service this area. Lots of local eateries that weren't tourist traps, even though it's just 2 km from the busy Shijo-Gion area, Nishiki Market, Pontocho, Gion, etc. McDonalds is a 2 min walk for those who really need it. For those wanting a local sento, Gokoyu is a 900m walk away. The 12 min walk along quiet streets showcases how locals live - some homes are tiny!

Perhaps a drink refill at breakfast would be nice, otherwise the included breakfast was appreciated.

The room was so much larger than we expected. My partner and I could both have our suitcases open on the floors at all times. The bed was comfortable and overall the apartment was very clean. It was also very quiet. The bathroom is nice and we had daily housekeeping without needing to ask. The TV allowed us to watch Netflix which we could connect our personal account to. We arrived earlier than check in time and they have a really easy to use locker system which fits large suitcases so you can leave them and collect later. The hotel is also close to bus and train stations. Possibly our favourite hotel stay of our trip!

The complimentary breakfast was very basic but considering it’s free, we can’t really complain.

I may have got lucky with the price at the time so I'd say very good value for money especially since I booked quite short notice only a few days before checking in as prior accommodation I had booked needed to be cancelled for personal reasons. The hotel was ideally located if you're wanting a little bit more of a chill vibe but still want to be close to the "central parts" of Kyoto. The hotel room was nice, clean, and spacious. The beds and pillows were great, had plenty of room to move about and really appreciated the table and stools to have a comfortable place to snack and keep all the mandatory conbini snacks bought at the end of the day. Love that the hotel had it's on dedicated laundry room and vending machines for guests, quality of life facilities really make the stay more comfortable. Again location wise it was perfect for us, 25-30 mins on bus from Kyoto station, 25-30 mins walk to Kawaramachi shopping district.

The hotel is conveniently located along a major thoroughfare leading to Kyoto's shopping district, typically requiring just one mode of transportation. Additionally, it is surrounded by convenience stores (Konbini), making it easy for guests to purchase any forgotten essentials.

The restaurant's breakfast offerings feel a bit limited, especially for those looking to indulge in a hearty meal after a tiring day. However, the food's taste is excellent.

The room had a good size and a big window that let a lot of light in. We arrived before checkin time and the staff at the reception desk were very kind to keep our luggage until we were able to checkin. They also kept our luggage on the day of checkout. They served us breakfast at the restaurant in the ground floor (coffee or tea, a small salad, bread roll and scrambled eggs or some other protein). Some reviewers complained about the breakfast, but for us, who only eat bread and black coffee, I thought the breakfast very convinient (and it was free). Room was quiet. The location was great. Staff was very very nice and helpful.

We were staying in Tokyo and some of our party decided to do a few days in Kyoto. As we had already paid for accommodation in Tokyo for the period we didn’t want to spend too much. The hotel was a lovely clean modern property. Our room had clearly been recently renovated/built. It was clean and comfortable and had what you needed in it. We were worried the hotel was a bit out of the way but the public transport (both trains and busses) were right outside as were a number of convenience stores and restaurants. Air conditioning was controlled in the room which was great as Kyoto was very warm and we walked a lot to see the sights. The room was cleaned each day which I wasn’t expecting for a budget hotel. They also provided free essentials - toothbrush, toothpaste, wash cloths, night gown, slippers. As well as soap shampoo and conditioner in the room. I’ve stayed in a lot of budget hotels and this is one of my top ones.

3 out of 4 of the beds were very hard mattresses. They only do standard double beds (so if you are used to a king size or bigger bed you can’t get one - not unusual for Japan) however we booked a twin room and pushed the beds together which was great. Check in wasn’t intuitive but reception staff assisted us. I’d have loved da kettle but you can get hot water downstairs.

New, very clean hotel. Spacious room (for Japanese standards) - we booked two singles and could push together so we could move around both sides. The shower is decent and the room is overall very comfortable. The location is good for a local metro plus buses and is walking distance to the central shopping area if you choose to do this. Lots of affordable restaurants and cafes nearby. Breakfast is the same every day - a small portion of scrambled eggs, two little bread rolls and some salad, plus jam! A little odd but a fine start to the day with some tea or coffee. Overall, very good value for Kyoto!

No kettle in the room but hot water available downstairs. Would also prefer no bottles water and just a couple of cups/glasses in the rooms instead

Clean, fresh and new. The room was comfortable and facilities good. Lovely shower. Location was great and easy to get to/from. Air-con was effective and much needed. When it rained they loaned you an umbrella which was really helpful.

Storage space (shelves/cupboard/drawers) for clothes would have been useful in the room. Breakfast was too simple, bland and not enough. Tiny portions that weren't satisfying. I gave up after day two and went to the seven eleven across the street each day instead.

The staff went out of their way to be helpful, showed me how and where to catch a taxi, helped with my luggage storage, and lent me a charger for my phone. The hotel itself is a few steps away from the train station and a whole network of bus stops. It is a manageable walk from Kyoto station if you only have a backpack, otherwise just a couple of stops on the bus, and only 1800yen by taxi. also a 10 minute walk, or 2 bus stops from downtown Kyoto. The breakfast was Japanese style and quite filling without being extravagant. It did come with bottomless coffee, tea, and juice, which was also great.

I would have liked a bath but didn't expect one.

Clean centrally located hotel. Provide basic amenities. Excellent shower, comfortable bed. Tip : The hotel is walkable from a bus stop ( Shijo Horikawa) and Tram Line ( Shijo omiya, take tram from here to go to Arashiyama). This makes it easy to commute to all tourist spots. There is a Family Mart convenience store and Sukhiya restaurant ( for night time bite) nearby.

Even for a Japan business hotel standards, the room was a tad too compact. Difficult to unpack two trolleys. Have to be creative with space utilisation. :) Please have a kettle in the room. Maybe in a small shelf above the small sitting area in the room. After a long cold autumn day, some warm water is a welcome relief!
