For the four days we stayed, it was the ideal room arrangements for my family of three. The beds were comfortable. It was easy to operate the thermostat and the washing machine. The apartment was furnished amply for simple cooking and laundry. The washing machine could only wash (no drying feature) but we hung clothes on the racks provided. Bathroom and kitchen were cleaned very well. It was located in a quiet neighborhood and there were a variety of restaurants within walking distance. The nearest train station was a 15-minute walk.

Loved this hotel. Small room but it had everything you needed and more. It even had a washing machine which came in super handy. They also provided laundry detergent. We walked everywhere from this location. Cute sake bar just around the corner and lots of great restaurants.

On the website it gave us the hotel name but on the email confirmation we received said to go to Stay Sakura main office. We had to drive to and from main office which is not a huge problem as we had a car, but I can imagine if this happened and we were on public.

Nice, queit location, near subway station, 15 min away from Kyoto station by subway. The staff was friendly and room was clean. We sent our luggage from the previous hotel and it waited for us in the room when we arrived.

The reception does not work all day so it is sometimes difficult to ask for something (for instance we wanted to transfer our luggage to the next hotel but could not catch the reception staff in the morning and had to arrange it ourself). There is no smoking area, neither in the hotel or somewhere next to it. Since smoking areas are difficult to find in Kyoto, this presented a problem and I wouldn't recommend the hotel to smokers.

It was clean, comfortable and well equipped with washing machine, kitchen and toilet within your room. Please provide a kitchen rag so that we are able to clean up properly after cooking.

Nice and clean small apartment. There was not much to hate, apart from non-stop cycle of venting and heating the room (February). Apart from that, everything was top notch!

Location was a bit further away from metro line, but bus did the job most of the time. Also Taxis were reasonably priced when commuting to-from station which was a nice bonus

Really clean and comfortable room and beds, with complete amenities (appreciated the settings for the shower room, washing machine, complimentary drinks)! We slept well each night. We were also accommodated very well even if we checked in a little later than I communicated, and when we asked to use the luggage storage after check-in.

The location is a farther walk from convenient train (Karasuma-Oike) and bus stations to and from popular tourist destinations. Ending our sightseeing days late, we also had to walk back from the train station to the hotel for about 9 minutes. This was the only con—overall, still a great value for the price we paid.

It was better than expected, the staff catered to a request to be on the top floor and I was very happy about this as I had trouble with a lack of sound proofing in other hotels in Japan. This one was value for money and the kitchen and bed were good.

Please buy bowls and put them in the kitchen, I had to buy my own bowl to make the kitchen useable. The guests below were very loud late at night but that seems to be a theme across Japan with loud tourists.

Nothing at all. The smallest space we'd had so far, but perfectly adequate. We also seemed to have been given the wrong directions. Perhaps we misunderstood, which station we were a 5 minute walk from.. lol. Luckily the actual address was correct as we engaged a taxi and were here 15 mins later for just ¥2,100, with air conditioning. Winning 😀

I’d like to keep this place a secret, but here goes~ It’s a perfect as it was when we visited in 2019. It’s a few blocks from the Nijo Castle and Karasuma Oike subway station. It has a washer and a bathroom dryer, fridge, stove and a/c! There are at least 2 restaurants and a little shrine within a short 2 block walk. It has a neighborhood feel. The price is great!!!

They don’t forward luggage.

The location was good and everything was easy to find. The staff at the reception desk were very friendly and helpful. They gave good advice.

The room for a week’s stay was too small. There was no room for a table and chairs so had to eat dinner trying to sit at an uncomfortable couch. There were no bowls, just a small plate each and no tea towels to dry the dishes.
