The hotel is located in a quiet area and is within walking distance to the Gojo station and isn't too far from the Kyoto JR station. Also, more importantly, it's down the street from a Family Mart! :) The hotel itself is beautiful and I loved how aesthetically pleasing and serene the lobby was. The lobby also has complimentary amenities near the elevator such as pajamas, tooth brush, cotton pads etc. Oh! And they have a bookshelf full of manga in the lobby that guests could read in their downtime. The rooms were incredibly clean, decently sized and the beds were comfy. My friend and I each had a medium suitcase, carry on, and a backpack and we were able to make things fit in the room without feeling too cramped. The biggest standout to us though was the staff. My friend lost her passport somewhere in the Osaka JR station, and the front desk agent was able to make a few phone calls and located it! He wrote a note for her to hand to the Osaka JR station staff. I wish I remembered this gentleman's name because he was able to turn this whole situation around for her. Besides that, the staff in general were incredibly kind and friendly and helped make our stay a memorable one! They even helped us set up our luggage delivery to the next hotel we were going to stay at in Tokyo. I highly recommend this hotel and plan on returning the next time I'm in Kyoto!

First, we liked the location —it was not too far to the dowtown but it was close enough to the places we wanted to go in Kyoto. The train station was also very close to the hotel. The interior of the rooms were good: a mix of traditional and modern Japanese aesthetic with the tatami mat flooring. The room is also more spacious than the usual hotels in Japan. The staff were very accommodating, polite and helpful. We wanted to send our luggage elsewhere so they helped us step by step.

For its price, we found the amenities a bit lacking. Yes it had the usual laundry, ice machine, microwave and bath essentials but compared to the other hotels we’ve stayed in, the selection was less (no facial wash, shaving cream, face moisturizer, lotion).

No breakfast booked. Location very convenient with underground, shops and restaurants nearby. Reception staff very polite and helpful.

Even though booking includes all fees and taxes please note that a Kyoto city tax will be applied upon check in. Please revise under the beds during cleaning for there was quite a lot of dust.

Breakfast contents, staff and hotel location (10-15 min walk away from regional train station Kyoto Central Station, 2 mins walk away from metro station Gojō Station and very near shopping street, restaurants, beautiful temples, Nishiki area).

The room was very dusty, decoration and lighting behind the bed was lovely but it was so dusty that we have spent an hour to dust it off being allergic to dust would be impossible to sleep in there. It wasnt just a week or two's dust, it was a very thick layer of dust that would accumulate over months. Im not blaming cleaners for this but the interior design because that structure behind the bed with literally thousand little cells would take ages to dust for room cleaners. Second complaint would be about breakfast times, latest entry to breakfast room is 09.30 and they stop refilling food and drinks by that time.

The room that was booked was good, with a comfortable bed, decently sized shower/ bathtub room, and a toilet that was separated from the shower room. The location for the hotel was very good also, being only 1 stop away from kyoto station and eligible when purchasing the day pass to use to get around kyoto. Though beware that the day pass only covers 2 of the lines that is part of the kyoto subway network, and getting to popular destinations will not be covered by the pass. One more add on is that in the lobby there is a place to store luggages, that is handled through a locker system for free to hotel guests since the check in is only at 3pm onwards.

Since the hotel primarily runs without the need of any attendants, it can be more difficult to get help when needed. You will be required to go through the phone line to get help for anything that the hotel provides as part of the stay.

Really liked the hotel overall, especially for the overall style. The Japanese style rooms were really nice, and the beds were super comfy (which was great for a week and a half stay). The staff were amazing- they sorted out filling in the forms for our 7-bag luggage transfer to Tokyo and then brought them to me in my room later in the evening. The location was really great for access to the main station and the subway and for walking up to Sanjo and over to Gion. Plenty of convenience stores nearby for out of hours food too. The bathroom was cleaned regularly and the shower was very powerful. The view of kyoto was really nice from high up.

The rooms didn't have any storage for clothes at all, apart from four coat hangers in the entrance, so we had to fold all our stuff up and put it on the small shelf running along one side of the room. Also not really any space for suitcases. So if you're staying for more than a couple days, consider what you're bringing. We also didn't seem to get any changes in our bedsheets (there was a mark on one duvet that proved it was the same one the entire time), and housekeeping would inconsistently empty our small wastebin and not take anything oversized that we placed next to it. So the room seemed clean overall, but not refreshed as often as we'd expect.

The hotel room was lovely, quite big compared to other hotels we stayed in during our time in Japan, and very clean and nicely done up. The breakfast was good and offered a very good selection. The location was quite good, with a station just down the road and within walking distance of Kyoto station.

The staff, while kind and courteous, struggled a great deal with communication with the guests. English is not spoken much by any of the staff we encountered here, making communication very difficult. Having said that they would always try to help out.

We loved the location of the Hotel: 20 min walk from Kyoto Station and right next to the subway stop Gojo. We liked the breakfast. good variety of food and good selection of traditional Japanese ones. We loved the iced matcha latte (only hotel in which we found it during our stay). We also appreciated the amenities being at hotel's guests disposal down at the lobby. Same thing goes for umbrellas.

The room was not the cleanest, lots of dust under the table and chairs next to the bed on the tatami. Plus we did not have our tea bags restocked daily and that was a shame. This place would be perfect if a onsen could be added.

The hotel is in the ideal spot, right next to the metro station and just one stop from Kyoto Station. We arrived from Tokyo with large luggage, so the close proximity was incredibly convenient. The room was stunning—one of the most beautiful hotel rooms I've ever stayed in. It perfectly blends traditional Japanese design with modern Western touches, creating a minimal, cozy, and highly functional space. It was ultra clean, and we felt so comfortable in the peaceful and quiet environment. The prices are unbelievable for such an amazing room, and the service from the staff was impeccable—helpful and kind at all times. I genuinely can’t think of a single con. If I visit Kyoto again, I will definitely be staying here!

Nothing whatsoever

We were really happy with our stay. The hotel is close to Kyoto main station which made it very convenient. The standard/double room was a good size and comfortable for two adults with two suitcases. The shower room was good and I liked that the toilet was separate - made it easier for two people to share a space. Staff was very friendly. Having a washing machine and money exchange machine was useful. Great value, although we didn’t opt for the breakfast with so many combinis nearby.

There is NO storage space in the room. A couple of thin selves and hangers by the door, but no drawers. This wasn’t a problem for us, but an obvious downside for some travellers.
