Our room was delightful; and overall the hotel was lovely. The in-house onsen was particularly great! (And works really well if you're travelling with a partner - as the public onsens are all single sex.) Breakfast was really good each morning, with a range of Western & Japanese offers (mainly western) - including fruit, cakes/ muffins, yogurts etc. Tea each afternoon was also delicious! Location is good - a very short walk to the main street, and less than a minute's walk from a couple of restaurants. And the staff were very helpful - booked restaurants for us before we arrived; sorted out lift passes at a discount; and the shuttle each morning to a ski lift was very convenient.
Room-cleaning could have been improved - we stayed for 5 nights, and it seemed like the room was partially cleaned once - and on most days wasn't touched, where it would have been nice if someone had been in (if only to clear bins & replace amenities). But that's a small complaint on a very nice stay.

From the moment I stepped into Residence Yasushi, I was captivated. The cozy atmosphere and thoughtfully warm decorations, extending from the lobby to the dining area, immediately made me feel at home. The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and incredibly comfortable—perfect for unwinding. The private onsen was a wonderful bonus, adding a touch of luxury to the stay. The breakfast was delightful, and I appreciated the thoughtful gesture of allowing guests to use the dining area for takeaway dinners. What truly set this experience apart, however, were the people. A heartfelt thank-you to Keisuke and Aisha for their exceptional hospitality. They made my stay so memorable and special that I found myself wishing I could extend my visit. Residence Yasushi is truly a gem!

Helpful Staff, nice facilities, private onsen was fantastic, room was great with a great view! Would definitely stay again.
Lots of redundant communication about booking, checkin time, and shuttle request. It seems several people are sending and responding to messages without good in-house communication. Area guide and recomendation links sent from hotel didn't work. Included breakfast was a little lackluster and portions were somewhat small. They only have one option for the meal, and only Western style food. We stayed on over New Years and expected maybe a little bit more special breakfast. No alcohol on the menu, no vending machines on site.

The staff at Yasushi are excellent - friendly, polite, and always helpful - they are international, and speak perfect English. Breakfast is great - and there's a cosy afternoon tea included. Beds are very comfortable, shower is strong, rooms a good size with good insulation from neighbours, and the style very well judged - making it pleasant to spend time in the room. A hotel shuttle bus is a nice bonus - making it easy to get to the slopes in the mornings. Thanks guys for a great holiday!

Amazing breakfast (massive compliments to the chef!); really spacious bedroom with lovely decor and huge, comfy bed; regular transport to the ski lift; beautiful private spa-like onsen; very helpful and English speaking staff.
Would be great if there was an option to have black out curtains between the window and shoji to avoid the 5:30 sunrise wake up ! ;) As another poster mentioned, housekeeping could be more regular as it a bit awkward to ask. End of season meant that a lot of the restaurants were closed but the staff were really good at helping guests find places to eat.

I can't say enough nice things about this place. The room (we had a suite) was surprisingly much larger than we expected. The beds were also a decent size and not the single size ones we're used to here in Japan. The staff was all super nice, friendly, and helpful. The whole establishment is just clean and very aesthetically pleasing which is very important to me. haha. The breakfast at this hotel is absolutely amazing!!! I think it is by far my favorite breakfast of all the hotels I've been at (and we have done a ton of traveling in Japan). Usually we get buffets in other hotels and there are many many options of dishes but kind of quality is average. But here you get a freshly made dish and every morning we had a different menu. I LOVED EVERY. SINGLE. DISH!!! They also had buffet style continental items. The Cheese and Chives Scones was to die for!!! I wish I could have taken some home!! LOL Also, in a small town where space is limited, it was so nice that there was parking available for our car. Lastly, the location is perfect!! walking distance to the Main Street and restaurants and the Yu Road escalator. But they also have a hotel Shuttle which will drop you off at the Gondola. Highly recommend staying here to anyone. It checked all my boxes!! We will definitely be back!!!
One small thing...the Wifi connection was not great in our room so it was hard to watch movies or load websites without it freezing. And the signal was even weaker by the bedroom area.

It's an exceptional stay! Room is very large, almost like a suite, well lit and well appointed room. Separated bathroom and toilet is very convenient. Loundry just outside is super convenient. Breakfast is well prepared and reserved so never need to worry about seating. Most impressive is the Onsen is also private by booking! Staff is super super friendly and helpful. Helped us with late check in, accommodated needs with children, arranged luggages to be sent to Chuo Terminal on checkout. The most helpful is to help us located a lost iPhone at bus terminal and arranged taxi to deliver it to station where we almost left. Thanks soo much for your help! Appreciated it!!

This place is wonderful! Beautiful rooms that are extremely comfortable and really lovely staff. The breakfasts are delicious and I especially loved tea time in the afternoon! And I’m so grateful that they were able to accommodate my food allergies. The private onsen was also a huge highlight of our time in Nozawaonsen!
I was a little bummed that we ended up in the annex, with a cold walk between buildings, without knowing when I booked ahead of time.

Loved the breakfast. Best in Japan. Don't know where you sourced your bread but it was better than I can get in Australia. Thanks for the vegemite, I think Japanese would like it if they got a lesson on how to spread it with butter.
I loved your staff, and as an Aussie could talk to them. However i came to Japan and wanted to immerse ourselves with Japanese people. Most of your staff are all Aussies so i didnt feel like i was i Japan. They also just arrived and dont knowvthe area or speak Japanese so I felt this was a disservice ro your Japanese customers. If I went to a resort in my own country and the staff didn't speak my language I would be offended.

Super if not most friendly staff. Room size was considerably big, however due to the odd layout, not much functional space for packing, when I have to open up the luggage. Have private onsen which you can book at the lobby. Provided ski passes at a slightly discounted rate too. Location is a little farther than other hotel, to the ski area. But the extra walk is not significant as the whole town is pretty small.
Nothing much, just that the breakfast choices were very limited to breakfast of the day, with some toast and other snacks around.
