Just a lovely experience. The room size was very generous, easily big enough for a family of four with space to spare. The staff were helpful and attentive. The ryokan is clean and quiet, and the location is perfect. The onsen experience was great, particularly the outdoor bath with views of the pagoda. The price was very reasonable for the quality. Absolutely loved it, would stay again.

Hard to pick anything, really. We did the kaiseki set menu dinner but would probably not do it again. Not because it was bad, just because the lack of options makes kaiseki dining with teenagers a bit problematic! There are excellent food options very close by, so this is not a problem at all.

We tried a tatami room and futon beds for the first time and were surprised how comfortable we found them especially as we are older. We also had our first onset experience that was magical.

We weren't able to have breakfast at the hotel and it took a little bit to find a place we liked.

The location is excellent. Walking distance to Nara Park & restaurants approx 8min. The room is very clean and comfortable for a family of 4. The public bath is nice, too. Not too big and clean. The hotel staff are very helpful and very friendly ❤️

The hotel was perfectly positioned within easy walking distance of many temples and shrines in and around Nara park. Very helpful and friendly staff

The staff was so accommodating and welcoming! Very helpful at everyday turn. Amazing dinner and breakfast at the hotel. Bonus was the great view of the temple from the outdoor Onsen. We had an incredible time!

It was a great experience staying in the traditional Japanese room, and so close to everything! Shops, food and sites! Staff was so friendly and helpful would stay again next time visiting Nara.

Breakfast was excellent with porridge, rice and so many dishes, including hot pot, fishes, egg roll, chawanmushi, vegetables etc.

Open onsen and covered onsen in two different areas and cannot do both at the same time.

The hotel is very well located near restaurants, Nara Park and the pagoda which can also be seen from the onsen on the rooftop of the hotel. I loved the outdoor onsen which I used every day. We stayed in a typical Japanese room and slept on futons on tatamis. The staff were very helpful, and welcoming. After walking long distance all day we slept very well and enjoyed the experience of the hotel, the onsen and Nara.

The hallway carpets looked a little worn and could be replaced and we needed to ask for extra towels as the bath towels were small. Every request we made was satisfied quickly and very politely.
