The view was great looking over the lake toya. Hotel staff who can speak Chinese really provided exceptional service and looked after us.

We didn’t know the hotel provide pick up service from station as we do not speak Japanese.

Everything. The staff are amazing, hospitable and go the extra mile with a smile. The views are breathtaking. The entire hotel faces the lake, and sitting on the large bed and looking out at the view was so relaxing. The onsen had an inside and outside bath, which we loved. The wooden bath outside every hotel room was wonderful. Soaking in the hot water while looking over the lake and up at the moon was magically. The food was delicious. Besides the breakfast, we also celebrated one of our birthdays at dinner at the hotel restaurant. The 7 course meal was absolutely delicious and fresh. And the cake platter was special for the birthday girl. The staff was very attentive. It was the off peak tourist season so the hotel was quiet, which we enjoyed as it felt like our very own paradise.

We enjoyed our stay very much here. The facilities, including room, onsen, and restaurant, were fantastic and very beautiful. The room was spacious, and well equipped, which made our stay very comfortable. Staff were lovely and extremely helpful, including helping us contact local businesses for our needs. Staff paid close attention to detail, which enhanced our experience. The restaurant also catered for my dietary/allergy needs. The views from our place were exceptional, and we could see the beautiful sunrises over Lake Tōya from our room every morning. We would definitely stay here again next time.

The water supplied to our hot tub on our balcony was unfortunately not hot enough to use in the wintertime. Though we could use the onsen instead, which was lovely.

Suited right on the end the of the hill with an amazing view of Lake Toya. Building looks older but once you get inside to check in, we were quite pleasantly surprised. Staff greeted us as we pulled into the drive to offer to take in our bags. Had a great introduction and brief tour around the building. Room was amazing. Just as advertised with an amazing view of the lake from our room. A private bath on the balcony although it’s just hot water bath, not Onsen. The public Onsen was great. Two pools: one indoor and one outdoor. All you need for some relaxation. Overall, had a great stay and got more than what we expected. Thanks for the comfy stay!

No complaints! Wish we stayed longer.

The hotel and our room were absolutely beautiful! The room was mind-blowing compared to the other rooms we stayed at in Japan (much bigger than usual) and was very thoughtfully-designed. The service was fantastic as well (including for us English-speakers). The bathtub on the balcony was a very fun feature, and the view from our room (and every room, it seems) was incredible. I had read in reviews that the food wasn't very good, but the breakfasts we had there were delicious!! (we didn't try the dinner)

The location was a bit tough, which we hadn't really realized while booking. Most of the hotels in the area are in the Toyako Onsen area, which includes lots of restaurants, ferries and boat rentals, the visitor center, and the nightly fireworks show in the summer; this hotel is about a 20 minute drive from there and there is negligible public transportation. The area close to the hotel is beautiful (you can walk 5 minutes and be at a park along the water, where families were swimming, paddleboarding, and canoeing) but there are very few restaurants nearby. We made it work just fine with the help of the hotel shuttle to the Toyako Onsen area--there weren't a ton of shuttles (maybe 5 per day) but it did the job and we're grateful that it exists.

Beautiful spacious hotel room, quiet, private, outdoor bathtub, sake bar where I sampled local sakes, onsen with the view of lake toya. High end amenities.

Extremely understaffed, as if three women ran entire hotel. Beds were hard (I like firm mattresses ) We made a booking on Booking.com last minute, they did not respond to Booking.com messages. I asked the front desk employee of the hotel we were to please call them. She said the hotel was closed until 1 PM. A $400 a night hotel doesn’t have anyone to answer the phone? So we took a $30 taxi, they actually close the hotel down in the middle of the day until 1pm- and don’t answer the phone. Thankfully an employee came out and let us store our luggage before the taxi left. No store within any reasonable walking distance. Not recommended if you dont have a car.

The hotel boasts a stunning view of Lake Toya from every room, which is tastefully decorated with a modern Japanese style. The rooms are exceptionally spacious and meticulously renovated. The outdoor onsen is a must-try experience. The hospitable hotel staff make the stay even more enjoyable. It's recommended to have a car to reach this remote location.

I believe the hotel breakfast could be improved, as the portions provided are quite small for adults. Moreover, the hotel bars seem to be relatively expensive. Unfortunately, there are no food options available near the hotel, and even in the town centre, there aren't many options, especially when it's late at night. I highly recommend preparing some food before arriving at the hotel, which can be done by stopping by convenience stores on the way.

The service provided by the staff was very nice, I asked for a proposal setup and they provided some props which were out of expectation. The view and the spa at the room was the best facilities.

The breakfast was below our expectation, we expected a larger buffet, and some sashimi. Ended up there were only small variety of pastry, salad and fruits. The dish they served was authentic Japanese cuisine but it could have been better for the price. There were not much food around anyway.

Exceptionally designed hotel, with large rooms, and a spectacular view on Lake Toya. Staff was more then welcoming and handled special diet requirements very helpfully, even though we had missed to give advance notice. This is a place for easy and total relaxation

The surrounding village is quiet and does not offer a lot of entertainment distractions, or restaurants. I would therefore recommend to take the full package with breakfast and dinner, and having a car available would certainly be useful.

The facilities and decor were nice and shining new. The view from our room was spectacular. We booked a night with dinner and breakfast included, dinner was an 8-course japanese cuisine with a modern twist. We think it was (7/10). Breakfast was a traditional Japanese set meal with an all-you-can eat mini bar (9/10). Onsen was 10/10, nice and clean, it was a pleasure taking a bath with the view. Service was great and the reception was able to speak fluent mandarin, there were no communication barriers.
