The Miyako City Osaka Hommachi is a very good hotel through and through. It is ideally located if you want to stroll towards Dontonburi or Shinsaibashi on foot. It is also easy to get to in the direction of Koya-san, Nara or Himeiji. As other guests have already written, the hotel is located on a very busy street, which is why I booked a room on the superior floor (15th and 16th floor). And you certainly shouldn't expect triple glazing, you can hear the traffic. You have to want that. The bed was a little too soft for me, but that's not really a minus, because tastes differ here.

Lots of great things - 1min supermarket, nice cafes nearby (recommend 'Yamao' cafe) - flexibility of approaching metro lines if you have pass ticket - clean & spacious bathroom 🙌🏻 For those planning to walk from Hommachi > there is a underground pass in Semba Building B1 floor, it links straight from Hommachi to Sakaisuzi-Hommachi station, please use this pass when weather is horrible outside 😊

Super close to the metro, and a few stops away from the osaka castle and the Dotonbori street. Also has an amazing ramen and cafe spots near by. It’s called “no name” and it was amazing ramen after a long touristy day. Room was spacious enough for me and my friend. It had lots of amenities and a hairdryer so that might help u not pack these things. Staff super helpful and friendly, we asked them to ship our luggage to tokyo and they organized it. Make sure they fill for u the forms in japanese (don’t fill it in english) u might need to use google translate a bit but all good and everyone was so patient with us. It was clean, comfortable, and safe for female travelers.

The breakfast is really the only downside, but if u like scrambled eggs and hash brown or japanese and asian breakfast u’ll be fine. They also had yogurt and fresh fruits which i ate whenever we had their breakfast. Honestly not the biggest issue and we ate in nearby cafes somedays and those were also delicious (try the eggs sandwich)

- Room was very nice and the bathroom was also really modern. We enjoyed the 3 nights here :) - Breakfast was fun and arguably the best we had over our stays in Tokyo, Kyoto and Hiroshima too. We found there to be a lot of cool things to eat and the chefs switched a few things daily, which was a bit of a change up…but they kept the best options. - Located only 10-15mins walk from Dotonbori and Shinsaibashisuji for plenty of restaurants, plus only 25-30mins walk to the Osaka castle which was also fine for stretching the legs after an intercity trip! - Right across the road from a great little cafe spot called “The Coffee Market Lab”. We started each and every day here before we started adventuring and the different coffees we tried were delicious :) - Free assortment of drinks downstairs in the lobby area until 10pm which included water, soft drinks and if you wish, for a small fee, wine etc. This was a welcome surprise for refreshments free of charge.

Nothing comes to my mind for anything negative to say about why someone shouldn’t stay here while in Osaka :) Highly recommend for a delightful stay.

Love, love, loved this hotel! I was surprised how high the standard was for the price. My room was great with a balcony, high up with a view. It was soundproofed so very quiet. The bed was the softest most comfortable I'd experienced in Japan. The staff were helpful and quick to give me extra pillows at no extra cost. It had Netflix and other streaming stations on the tv I could QR code to by signing into these accounts on my phone. The room had storage space and aesthetically pleasing aspects. The foyer area was high end and stylish offering lovely seating areas and access to free coffee and soft drinks. The location was excellent in a downtown, "nice" area that was close to different subway entrances, convenience stores at the doorstep including a supermarket. If I return to Osaka I will be staying here again.

There was a choice to have clean sheets every day or just have an "eco clean" meaning just clean towels. All the hotels I stayed in in Japan had this option and I went with it because I don't need clean sheets every day but usually the bed would get made each day and at this hotel it wasn't which didn't give that lovely feeling returning back after a long day of a clean tidy room. This was the only fault of the hotel.

This was an unknown hotel to me and I picked it based on reviews alone. I was pleasantly surprised! Hotel felt upscale and definitely 4-star level. Staff was friendly upon entry. They had a large storage area to hold bags prior to check-in. Room was on a high floor with a pretty good view. Bed was comfortable, room felt new and clean, Bathroom was great. Met my expectations and though the location wasn't on top of Dotonbori, I preferred this location a bit removed but a short subway ride away. I spend one of my days heading North to Kita ward so this was the perfect place to stay for me. Would stay here again.

I heard from the other reviews breakfast was a few items pretty much grab & go and wasn't worth the price I did not include it. Most hotels at this level include a breakfast full-service meal so that might be somewhere to improve.

The hotel is in a very nice neighborhood, away from the hussle, yet very close to centeral places like Dotonburi.. you may walk from hotel to center in 20 minutes, and you may also reach the subway with a 10 minutes walk.. our room was large enough compared to Japan Hotels.. the bathroom is well equipped.. the shower equipments are good quality.. the sound insulation and the blackout curtains are making it great to sleep.. ah I have to mention how good it feels the super soft and yet great bed after long days of exploring and walking .. there are 24h open convenience stores and a 24h open McDonald’s around.. which makes it easy to handle late requirements.. There is coffee, water, soft drinks and tea served free for all hotel guests. It was great to sit in the nicely decorated reception hall watch outside and drink coffee before you start the days.. there is also a buffet breakfast and restaurant inside but we have not tried.. coin laundry is easy to access and use..you can check out the status of your laundry from your tv of your room..

Maybe reaching the hotel with luggages is a little hard due to the exit from the subway could be an issue after 22:00, as the passages at the buildings are closed and you have to find the alternative way out, which is not mentioned on Google maps.. at some exits no escalator and you have to climb all stairs up… so beware.. the main subway connection to JR stations for Kyoto and Nara could be a little far away..

The hotel is beautiful! the reception area smells gorgeous! the staff are so helpful and nice and the room was fairly spacious with a great shower! the breakfast selection was vast and the free drinks all day was definitely a winner!

the free ramen hour was always PACKED which made it difficult to get drinks or ice cream, but that was definitely not the end of the world! Mattresses on the sun loungers would be good! the sun loungers are not comfy!

Location was good, near food places at night and near the subway station. Room had all the facilities we needed and was made up well every night.

I asked for pillows and they told me to collect from the front desk myself?? First time ever being told to do so...

The hotel far exceeded our expectations, the room size was great and balcony was good. The bathroom was amazing with the separate bathtub. The free facilities and guest bar was perfect for travellers unlimited drinks, coffee and water refills!! We also loved the laundry room where we could use and monitor the status of our clothes. The place was easy to find and surround by good and convent facilities. Most things are within walkable distance. The staff there was pleasant to deal with and very accommodating. Highly recommend for a trip around Osaka definitely happy to book again if we're back to Osaka!

It is a bit of a walk to the main attractions not too bad but still a decent walk especially in summer. The closest trainline isn't the most convenient to certain locations so definitely need to plan your trip before leaving!
