Although the room was small, the facility was very clean and the staff went above & beyond to make sure that our stay was as comfortable as possible. They were extremely accommodating, & even offered assistance when transporting luggage to the next hotel as well as locating & speaking with a doctor when one of us believed to be injured. Over time, the room grew on us & created a memorable safe space for us. Thank you!

What a gem of a hotel! I booked this hotel as a special gift to myself for my birthday and loved every minute of it. The hotel staff were very kind and those that I did speak with were all fluent in English. I found the room to be spacious and comfortable and appreciated the information and guides on how to use things like the washing machine. It got beautiful light during the day and the split levels were fun. The location was in a residential neighborhood, but I enjoyed a relaxing walk to and from Sensoji temple a few times during my stay. There's convenience stores nearby, and a shopping street to look through! When coming home late at night I never felt unsafe walking the streets here.

We love our stay here. It meets our expectations Our room for 5 has 4 single beds over 2 levels and a sofa bed. Though it's a bit cramp but is compactly designed to build in all the necessities. There's a washing machine and we dry our clothings in the bathroom over night. Hangers are provided. Though the kitchen area is small, it has a fridge, a kettle and a microwave with some cutleries. The front desk offered free corn soup and coffee. We can see Tokyo Skytree from our room. About 15 to 18 minutes walk from Ueno station and 10 minutes walk to Iriya station.

Nothing actually. It's a bit inconvenient to step up and down the wooden steps/stairs between the bedroom area and the sofa area. I would like to suggest to install more hanging hooks on the wall.

Their customer service was great and the staff were always very helpful and welcoming. It was a welcome change from the staff less hotels we stayed in throughout our trip. Since they were so responsive and had such helpful tips on how to enjoy the surrounding area, it made us feel more at ease during our stay. Asakusa and the JR Ueno station were both a comfortable walking distance away, which was extremely convenient and saved us a few train stops. Also, the view of Tokyo Skytree as we walked through the streets was beautiful!

It was very tight and cramped to get around the room, but doable. I just wouldn’t recommend squeezing too many people in one room, especially with big luggage. Our group of 4 fit fine in the room itself, but definitely had some traffic jams walking through the shared spaces. I couldn’t imagine having even 1 more person staying with us in the room.

The clever use of space meant there was room to sleep and relax. Our room had a view of the Skytree was really lovely especially at night when it was lit up. The girls on reception were all very friendly and helpful. There were all the amenities we could need including pyjamas, toiletries, lots of towels and kitchen utensils that made making breaky easy before we headed out each day. There was a laundromat close by to help dry clothes. Family mart was an easy walk too. We loved our stay here and highly recommend as it was awesome value for money!

There wasn’t much we didn’t like. I would have loved a better clothes dryer, but as mentioned above there was a laundromat nice and close. If you have really robust kids I don’t suggest staying here as the layout of the place had my boys (not overly robust) jumping from top bunk down to ground and jumping down the stairs both of which caused a big thump on the floor. I was worried they would disturb other guests but they struggled to stop clunking around. The location was a bit of a walk from train stations, but we didn’t mind in the mornings and in the arvos we just paid for taxis from Ueno (AU$8-9).

We were 30minutes early, the staff was so sweet to let us check in early since our room was ready and helped the process. Everyday we were greeted by superbly friendly staff. The walk from Ueno station is about 10 minutes but we really enjoy seeing the neighbourhood. Aeon supermarket around the other corner and Lawson and few eateries along the way. Tower Skytree tower is visible from our room. The stay has been perfectly pleasant and my teenage boys enjoyed the unique concept.

Tends to be dusty so if floor wipes or vacuum cleaner provided we could have self-clean during our three nights stay

This is a great little hotel if you are looking for something different in terms of layout. I picked it for the qwerky Japanese vibe, little kitchen, and the location. I didn't realise I was also getting a washing machine, pjs! and such easy access to lovely local shops . It's easy to walk to the Ueno Park or in the other direction, Senso-Ji. You can see the Sky Tree from the hotel (and in fact we walked there also but it is a bit longer). It's a quiet safe neighbourhood, with a very local vibe. Great to explore this area and not being in some chain hotel closer to the park. Great shower pressure. Lovely staff.

This was not a problem for me, because I was travelling with my kids and so they are not very tall but the beds are located under the loft living room. You need to be aware that an adult can not stand in that space. Entrance to room very narrow.

10-15 mins walk from Ueno station. or abt 25 mins to Ueno-keisei line It may seem long but in Japan, you should walk more. Many convenience store from any direction if in need of supply. got the 7th floor so we had clearer view of Skytree

For those coming with many luggage. The space between the lift and the room is very cramp.

- location was great (somewhere in Ueno, quiet and residential, convenience stores + Inaricho and Ueno Station nearby) - staff was kind and attentive - modern appliances and interior

- ceilings are low (not suitable for tall people), but we knew that beforehand from looking at the pictures - general problem in Japan: we brought socket adaptors type B with us and the room only had sockets type A… from the POV of tourists it might be helpful to add that info for foreigners coming to visit, even though tourists should obviously educate themselves before coming to visit :-)

The staff were very friendly and helpful and had a very good grasp on English. The location was a relatively short walk from convenience stores and train/subway stations. The staff offered to fill out the takkyubin forms for sending our luggage to the airport which was appreciated.

The rooms were quite narrow in certain areas, but that's to be expected in Tokyo, where space is at a premium. The setup seemed most suitable for young couples with children. Accessing the upper beds required some climbing, which felt like a bit of a hassle after long days of walking and exploring the city. One challenge was the lack of clear instructions for the room's systems and utilities. The water heater, shower ventilation, and the extra functions on the toilet could have been better explained or, at the very least, had instructions posted in English. As an American, it felt like solving a puzzle to figure everything out. For example, the water heater panel was oddly hidden in the kitchen, and we had to be shown how to turn it on manually before we could enjoy a hot shower.
