The location for this was perfect. This was our first hotel for our trip with just a short train ride from Kansai int (one transfer at Hineo station and ride the 2nd train all the way to Wakayama. Staff were extremely friendly and helped in many ways when it came to room temperature, service and check ins. Loved using the roof top at night to do some work and the free curry was also a cute touch. I'm really sad I don't have a reason to return to Wakayama but if I did I would stay at Granvia again. Highly recommend.

Very convenient location right next to JR Wakayama station. Can catch city bus and taxi right outside of hotel. Clean room and comfortable bed. Smaller than American chain hotel rooms but comparable to a veranda cruise ship cabin without the veranda. Electric kettle, bottled water and tea provided. Hotel has system for room cleaning in which you choose how often cleaning is done. Located next to department store with food, beverage and grocery options. Also many delicious local restaurants are within walking distance.

As mentioned before room is smaller than typical American hotel chain. Only breakfast buffet available.

This is a clean, comfortable, inexpensive hotel with good rooms and a great location just next to the station. A city bus will take you to any attraction such as the castle, the park or the Marina City. Breakfast is reasonable.

The only problem was coffee coupons that you are given along with room keys. For some reason, they are active only from 7 to 8 PM, while five to eight (which is still inside the interval) is already too late. Please note to the hotel that services that are very difficult for guests to use are a nuisance. If so, it’s better for you not to offer anything at all.

Super convenient location, right next to the Wakayama station. Check in was easy. One of the reception staff is Chinese so if you have no problem if you can speak only Chinese. The porter is very helpful, he saw that we have so many luggage and shopping bags, he came forward to help us, bring all the luggage and bags to our rooms. There is one free coffee at the cafe if you scan the QR code on the TV screen in your room. Also, in the evening, between 7 to 8 pm, there's complimentary curry rice which was delicious.

The room only has 2 pillows, so you have to call front desk to get extra pillows.

Excellent location just a minute walk from Wakayama JR station. Comfortable room. Bonus: free curry rice every evening, plus roof top must go, with a free drink. Though it’s too cold to stay on the roof top, but it must be cozy other than winter time. Highly recommended if traveling to Wakayama.

The room is a bit small when open your luggage.

Next to Wakayama JR (not Nankai) station the hotel is in a great location, near shops and restaurants. Very attentive staff and modern facilities. Double room was average size for Japanese hotel. Bathroom was a bit tired but clean and spacious. Beds were comfortable and liked the rooftop lounge at night. We had a late flight from Kansai, so staff looked after our luggage until 4pm. Reasonably priced for Wakayama. Great for one or two nights.

This is a nice hotel in a very good location, next to the JR Wakayama train station and Kintetsu department store. Staff members were nice and my room was clean. Of all the places I stayed during my trip to Japan, I had the best night's rest at Hotel Granvia, because the bed in my room had a good mattress. Breakfast was very good, but please note it starts at 7:00 am, which could be an issue if you are catching an early morning train.

Rooftop terrace with complimentary drink and screening of Wakayama attractions was pleasant diversion. Opening hour could be earlier to view surroundings before dark falls. Convenient location next to JR station and shopping mall. They have a pillow bar for selection and complimentary curry rice in the evening.

Instructions from carpark level to hotel lift level are very misleading/confusing. Should advise drivers to park at carpark level-7 which links directly to hotel lift at level-6.

It is an old hotel but everything is well kept and clean. Staffs were super friendly and they speak English. There are some perks like free curry and welcome drinks. I would like to mention a special attending staff near the elevator, he was very kind and helpful. He shows the true definition of excellent service and hospitality. The hotel location is also excellent, right by the Central station

Stayed at numerous Granvia hotels in our travels throughout Japan and this was very typical - courteous staff, attention to details and great customer satisfaction protocols in place. We opted for the morning breakfast and the selections ( both western and Japanese were good). The hotels adjoins a large Dept store and provides access to the Dept Stores restaurants on the 5th floor. Location next to the train station which also has a bus terminal makes it makes it very convenient to get around.

The signage identifying the hotel just outside of the train station was not prominently visible. We had to make inquiries to locate the hotel.
