I recently had an unforgettable stay at this wonderful hot spring resort, and I can’t recommend it enough! The environment is absolutely stunning, with serene surroundings that instantly put you at ease. The facilities are top-notch, offering everything you need for a relaxing and rejuvenating experience. What truly stood out, however, was the exceptional staff. They were incredibly warm, attentive, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. One minor issue I encountered was with the indoor hot spring. The water temperature felt a bit lukewarm for my liking, and while the staff kindly showed us how to adjust it, the process was still challenging. Since the adjustment involves working with the pipes, it’s quite inconvenient to make changes mid-bath, especially when you’re already in the water. It would be great if there were a simpler, more user-friendly method for adjusting the hot spring temperature, perhaps with easier controls or pre-set options, to avoid the hassle of dealing with pipes during the bath. This small improvement could make the experience even more enjoyable.

This was my first time staying in a traditional Japanese hotel and I loved every moment. The location is incredibly scenic. Dinner was delicious and huge, served in private rooms for each guests. We especially enjoyed the private hot tubs. I couldn’t believe our room it’s own onsen until I saw it! The staff was nice. Room was clean and spacious.

We stayed in mid February. I had some troubles with the heating. AC was probably broken and quite loud, so we turned it off at night. The other heater was the one which uses gas and fire so I was hesitant to keep it on entire night. As a result it was very cold in the morning, but I could have asked staff to help figure it out. Thankfully, onsen still was perfect for warming up :)

Room was huge and comfortable, the private onsen is definitely a treat! Both breakfast and dinner were delicious. Staff were friendly and made you feel at home.

Dinner service felt a little rush, courses came out almost all at the same time and we were finished in an hour. The food was delicious so it would have been nicer if we have more time. Overall, did not affect how much we love about the place!

The accomodation was nice and comfortable. The dinner and breakfast was lovely, tasty and a variety of fresh food. The service was very good.Lovely to be picked up from the station and returned again after checkout.

The menues were all in Japanese which made it difficult to understand what comprised of each dish. It would have been great if the menu included english details to understand the type of each dish. I was appalled at checkout having to pay an extra amount of yen 305 to cover the use of the onsene pools. I would have thought this would have been included in the packaged cost, as the people staying would be using the pools.

Everything, staff, the space, private onsen, wow. Loved everything

The distance from the main attractions such as the floral village. They offer a free shuttle but only for check in and check out, if you are planning to explore, youa re going to have to walk up and down a hill unless you are driving.

- The hotel environment is comfortable. Each group of guests has their own house with very high privacy. As there are less than 10 rooms in this hotel, it's quiet at night, which makes the atmosphere tranquil - The room is spacious and with two private onsens (one indoor and one outoor) - The beds are big enough - Dinner and breakfast is served in private rooms for each group of guests - Hair curler/straightener is provided in the room

- The water in indoor onsen is too hot... - The hotel isn't close to the Yufuin shopping street, but it's great that the hotel provides free pick-up service from train station

Everything was perfect. The room was big and comfortable and we loved both the indoor and the outdoor private onsen. Dinner and breakfast were delicious and all the staff was friendly and helpful (even if we did know just a few words in Japanese). Me and my wife stayed for a night and we loved it.

So happy to have stayed here for a night. Soaking in both of the private hot springs bath in our room and enjoying the kaiseki dinner and breakfast at this beautiful place was quite an experience. Arigatou to lovely Disna and her co-workers for their hospitality throughout our stay.

The environment, the food and the experience of living in a traditional Japanese onsen

All staff were off by 9pm. The group of guests staying next to us were having a party in the next room and were unable to rest well. We were unable to find any staff to deal with the situation except the night time security guard.

The staff is just unbelievable. Place looks amazing. Dodd was delicious Greatest Ryokan experience.

Itt'd definitely not cheap. Does it worth it? I would say; try it for one night at least
