We had to make a quick decision on this hotel, to deal with a flight cancellation at nearby LAX. In many ways it is a pretty standard 3 or 3.5 star Marriott property, but the reason I rated it an 8 rather than say a 7 is that the slightly more expensive "large room with king bed" was vastly bigger than we expected, seemingly 500 sg ft rather than the advertised 300-350 sq ft. Also reasonably close to Venice.

The shower stall was comically small, and the ambience in the on-site restaurant was not much (being essentially part of the lobby), although we didn't eat there.

The staff are exceptional. We requested an early check in, got it with no issues (even ended up with a better room than expected!). We didn't want to valet but the parking staff were still SO friendly and helpful throughout our stay, allowing us unrushed time to unload, load, and helped us find cheap overnight parking. The head of security personally showed us to the pool when we were a little lost. Seems like there are weekly happy hour specials at the bar. Everyone was just so friendly. It definitely made us think that you really do get what you pay for. It's also easy to get to and from LAX, close to SoFi, and a quick trip great shopping and food in the Venice Beach area (HIGHLY recommend Blue Star Donuts, Blue Bottle coffee and the Butcher's Daughter, all of which are 5 minutes drive away).

There was an HVAC problem one of the days we were here that knocked out the AC. The manager personally had letters printed and stuck on all the room doors apologizing for the incident, and the issue was resolved by the evening.

I was there for a conference in the hotel so the location was the main selling point. It is steps from the beach but the weather was cold and damp so I didn't get to take advantage of it. Great gym if you want to get a workout in and a nice bar/restaurant area in the lobby for work or some food and drinks.

It is right next to the Marina so it was a bit noisy outside in the morning. I wish the weather was better when I was there but that's not fault of the hotel.

Close to the beach, restaurants and airport but was quiet and not too ‘touristy’

During the week the bar only opened at 3pm I extended my stay by one night as my flight was cancelled. Though I kept the same room, the room rate was more than double for the extra night.

The location and the facilities (they have peloton bikes !)

The fee about the « club » and the yoga teacher arriving late (and leaving sooner) or not showing at all. Hopefully the staff was here to accommodate and compensate in the end

Lives up to the clean and comfortable standards of the Marriott hotel chain/brand.

The process to sign up for wifi was more complicated than anticipated. You need to sign up to receive free wifi, otherwise you have to pay for it, which we didn’t expect at this type of property. It’s easy to sign up, but took some time to do this at the start of our stay.

The view from the balcony, bright rooms, renovated bathrooms with walk in showers. The staff is very good and helpful.

It’s a bit far from the activity places; need to have a car to go anywhere.

This is the best hotel to stay at! The rooms are spacious there’s a little balcony, the marina and Venice beach are right there when you look out. Everything is exceptionally clean and when travelling in America I definitely recommend staying in smoke and pet free hotels. I changed hotels once and ended up coming back because of the smells in the pet friendly hotels. the M club is 100 percent worth upgrading to.

it’s ok to stay here if you can walk to Venice beach about 15 15 minutes

That You couldn't smoke on your balcony. I understand smoking in the room but if i pay for a balcony i should be able to fully enjoy the balcony.

The hotel was an amazing experiences. Staff was incredible, rooms were beautiful, and the view was amazing. I'd recommend it to others very much.

The elevator would sometimes miss certain stops. Or the buttons didn't work.
