there are no spoon to stir the coffee, that is provided there. having plates would be nice too as many Grab their food.

the electronic keys seems to be not working well in one of the room. small matter tho

Great location lots happening around the hotel and short walking access to a large part of the old downtown. The breakfast is very good in terms of selection, food quality and venue. The coffee house/restaurant is spacious with a great set of windows offering natural light and sits on the street corner with an excellent wrap around view of Penang Street. The salt water swimming pool is excellent approximately 30m long and provides sufficient space for a real swim. The gym is adequate.

The only thing we found odd was the parking garage there are 10 open spaces to park in and the rest are ramps with mechanical lifts, which are smallish in terms of length and width and more difficult to park on. Smaller cars are no issue however my Tiguan, which is not a large SUV,was a tight fit.

the Wi-Fi ! no Wi-Fi for my room.. had to connect to the hotel guest and staff one.. but connection kept dropping off ..very annoying .. complained to front desk a few times ..1st time the technician shown up and asked me connect with the lobby guest one ..but no more showing up for the next few times complains to solve the problem.. very disappointed.. as I needed it for my laptop work .. slow efficient and ignoring my requests which is not a 5 star hotel to do !

The George was recently opened (end 2022), so facilities and fittings are new. The service across the board was friendly and prompt. The breakfast spread was good too, which my family enjoyed.

The basement only car park flooded after heavy rain during our stay. It took two days before the hotel could drain the water and that affected parking. In my instance, I was fortunate to bump into management that evening and they made arrangements for me to park safely. The breakfast crew seemed a little inexperienced when more guests arrived late mornings. Better training and supervision would help.

It's a new hotel with great design and architecture, just a few months old, great 👍 location, lift smells good, parking space was ok, swimming 🏊‍♂️ pool facilities was also great with towel n proper changing room provided, room facilities were good with modern bidet🚽 haha, staff 😀 was always smiling and helpful whenever we needed something. Will definitely be my go-to hotel to stay in Georgetown Penang, whenever im visiting again. 👌

The check-in process can be improved in the future by adding more staff/counter, rather than only rely on one person. Then, the breakfast selection is not that great for the price we're paying, but still ok 👌, should be more varieties and not the same menu every day.

The location is amazing, the hotel is well equipped and designed. All the little details are great. Rooms are spacious and really comfortable.

If it would be 4 stars, it would be a very good 4 star hotel. For a 5-star, it lacks few details being done right. Staff has an attitude sometimes. Smth is off with the management. Also, I read all the comments about the breakfast and was trying to be neutral, but for a 5-star hotel the selection and quality was just too low. Once again - I think it's just mismanaged. I hoped that they read the reviews and make adjustments for the breakfast, but doesn't seem like it's the case.

The location is very good. Everything is in walking distance in Georgetown.

The hotel is situated close to a nightclub which is situated across the street. But is has a party every night from 8pm until 3am. The music is terrible and if you sleep in the front of the hotel you will hear it very well. Bummer no one wrote this down in a review so I would have asked for a room somewhere else. (The hotel was fully booked when we arrived). Breakfast needs to be improved for a 5 star hotel. Reception staff could be more welcoming.

We were greeted by the warm Hospitality from the doorstep right to the reception. Staff was attentive and very polite. We were also impressed by the room and toilet facilities. The Hotel's location is so ideal and walking distance to the UNESCO sites, local souvenirs shops and delicious restaurants. Strongly recommended for those who are coming to Georgetown, Penang.

The George is a very beautiful and elegant Hotel in the heart of Georgetown which exceeded my expectations. The rooms are well appointed and clean and comfortable and the japanese style modern toilet is a wonderful surprise . The food at the breakfast buffet was tasty and the staff from the time of my arrival till departure were truly excellent and courteous. Kudos to the management and hope that you maintain these high standards throughout. I would recommend this hotel to my family and friends without any hesitation.

The front desk staffs, Adeline and her coileague, were super friendly and professional. Also, the lobby bar staff very well trained. Especially Dhrasti. Great place to unwind after dinner.

Improvement to coffee is necessary. Such upscale hotel having no proper coffee barista is a shame. Breakfast while continental variety is available but local variety only handful.
