I loved the beauty of the grounds, the relaxed atmosphere, and the communal spirit of the common house/kitchen. The host, Milton, is a retired sea captain with great stories to tell. He makes you feel at home without being the least bit intrusive. The price is very reasonable.

The breakfasts could be better. The muffins are too sweet and made with white flour, instead of whole wheat. The granola is also too sweet. The fruit selection is poor - just bananas and apples (and these are poor quality). I suggest that Mexican fruit, like papaya and pineapple be offered. Our bed was not very comfortable. The mattress was very hard.

It is called a B&B and usually breakfast is only a few hours. But at Casabuena the kitchen was a common area, spacious, bright organised and open all the time, even to make your own dinner. Every morning the host had fresh baked muffins, home made granola, bananas, apples, loaves of bread, tubs of yogurt, milk and the essential coffee. There was a large coffee grinder so the beans were freshly ground before brewing. Also important was unlimited bottled water. The pool was refreshingly cool, as the days were as hot as 30C/86F in March. One could always find a shady spot to relax in. Our hosts Milton and Sue-sue were always available and willing to fix any requests. We had our own car and being able to park in an enclosed area was peace of mind. We met some wonderful guests, and felt accepted and welcomed.

It is a pet friendly accommodation, but some of the guests did not clean up after their dogs so the occasional turd could be seen. A few afternoons the mat in the kitchen sink had mould on the edges and not everyone cleaned up after themselves. Once I had forgotten my clothes on the clothesline, when I went to get it about 7 pm, it was dark and I had a flashlight, the 3 dogs that belong at the B&B barked at me and came menacingly toward me. It was not comfortable but I appreciate that they are good watch dogs.

I really love this place. It is run by a couple that has created a cool, relaxing refuge, full of beautiful plants, a gorgeous pool, a public kitchen and simple rooms that are well thought out to accommodate what travelers need. Wish we could have stayed here longer. I really enjoyed the communal, large kitchen, living area. They provided coffee, toast, cereal, fruit and a fridge with yogurt and milk. Self serve, wash your own dishes. A fun place to hang out and meet other travelers. I appreciated the refrigerator in the room and the long counter to put luggage on. Super mellow, relaxed, friendly vibe here. If we ever come back to La Paz, this is where we will stay.

The owners were available on a daily basis to answer questions and bake breakfast muffins. Organic bananas and fresh apples complemented cereal and granola in the common space. It was more like a hostal in the common space but everyone had a private room. I think it was a large family home many years ago. I especially appreciated the solar electricity and on demand hot water. It is an ecologically efficient operation.

The Coffee.

This place was a nice surprise. Milton, the owner is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are pretty basic but clean but the best part was the huge central kitchen. The owners wife makes fresh homemade muffins every day and other assorted breakfast foods are provided. Guest are free to use the kitchen and it’s a good place to meet with other guests and share stories.

Great value for money, spacious room, clean, nice people. The rooms are quite rustic, but this gives a nice atmosphere,.

It's a bit further from the centre (about 20-30 minutes walking), so I'd advice to rent a bike if you're without a car (biking is easy as there is a biking path going along the coast)

it is private, enclosed so your car is safe inside. the grounds are beautiful and the breakfast and communal kitchen so nice. our room was large and had all we needed. loved talking to the owners and others who stay there often. beautiful place and close to walk to everything.

No complaints about anything. It was the best place I have stayed in Mexico.

Milton and partner were great hosts. Beautiful common kitchen with everything you need. Homemade hot muffins for breakfast along with toast, cereal, apples, and bananas. Potable water available. Coffee all day. About 1k through a shabby neighborhood to the Malecon. Eat at the Docks Restaurant on the way back! Really good! Also, Toro Guero around the corner from the hotel is good and popular. Check open times.

Yes, it was perfect… tranquil and beautiful. Love the fruit trees and pool. Kitchen/dining/living areas were spot on and inviting.

My bed could have benefited from a mattress topper. I mentioned it to the owner and I am sure she will make this upgrade soon.
