Views were nice Ambience was terrific Rooms were beautiful Mexican colonial Staff was helpful and excellent Rooms were super clean and fresh towels every day Breakfast was very good and plentiful
Up a huge hill from center of town We took taxis to return to hotel but if you are fit and not older like us you can hike UPHILL after a day and evening out Such water shortage in Mexico why why why does the gardener water the lawn and plants like mad with a full ON water hose?? Mexico City will have NO water by June 2024 but Frayle has green green grass!? EEK! This is not good and we also live in Arizona and know the value of water.

Good News: I had been there many times, had all of my business partners sleeping there, but after the hotel was sold, it had been run down "a little" - so I had not stayed there for many years. Now I had heard that the hotel has new ownership / administration, was renovated and a nice place again, so I tried it with 4 friends (2 rooms) visiting me from Germany, and what a nice surprise: Our rooms were updated, all clean and the whole hotel looked well taken care of again. There is no need to speak about the location, it is just absolute FANTASTIC, what a nice and remarkable space - you will love it ! Everything comes with a price, in this case it is a small one: As you are a little "up the hill" it takes maybe 7/8 minutes walking "down-to-downtown", and uphill I recommend to take a taxi for a few pesos if you are not used to the 2,000 meter above sea-level . . . .BUT the view rewards you, and in my opinion it is fully worth it !!!! THANK YOU for "bringing back" one of the nicest and spectacular hotels in San Miguel de Allende
All ok, but the even more spectacular view through the giant window from the restaurant could be used for "Gourmet-Events" into the sunset . . . . .

Love this little hotel. It’s a bit out of the way and well worn but lovely. The pool is small but fantastic - some ingenious design keeps cold water coming in the bottom while the sun eats the top. Staff very friendly and helpful. It’s at the top of a VERY steep hill but views are amazing and taxis are cheap if you don’t want to walk - walking up is a serious work out but we’ll worth the gorgeous views and charming neighborhood. I saw a complaint about breakfast - not my experience. The menu is very limited but I’m a vegetarian and they were very happy to adjust to accommodate me. Ask nicely 😊
As I said it’s a bit worn but beautiful

This was my second stay at Mirador del Frayle. The rooms are clean, and very quiet. The breakfast was good but had limited options. The view from the dining room is stunning. The pool is very nice. Beautiful grounds and friendly staff.
The beds were not very soft. The climb up the street to the hotel is challenging. However we used a taxi when returning from Centro.

the pool and gardens with the view were incredible.
There was no ceiling fan in the room as described and it was very hot.

Nice view, nice colonial hotel, beautiful gardens, parking, clean, good Wi-Fi, good shower.
Very steep and narrow streets to go to Centro. For most people, you need to take your car or call a taxi. We had to pay more to change room because of the really narrow stairs going to the mezanine bedroom. Very hard mattress. There were no screens in windows, so mosquitos were in.

This hotel is beautiful, my room was huge. this place is a little far from the down town, but you can use a cab or Uber. The views from the hotel are beautiful specially during the sunset time.
This hotel didn’t include the breakfast on the price, but they offer breakfast, however; there was only ONE option. I didn’t like their breakfast.

The pros - great pool, beautiful gardens, large rooms, friendly restaurant and bar staff, great cleaning staff, breakfast and bar on site.
The cons - the place could use a bit of a renovation (cracking ceiling tiles, sewer smells in the halls), uncomfortable beds, the hotel is located up a steep hill about 15 mins walking from centre which is not ideal if you’re not physically fit but cabs are very easy to catch and about 60mxn from centro.

Room size was spacious. Breakfast staff was excellence with a nice view of the city. Hotel landscape was well maintain by Sr. Nicolas who I met. Overall buildings look great.
Poor cleaning service on the room. The floor was not sweep sometimes, we noticed dust on our feet after taking a shower at night. Bed sheets were not changed on some occasions during the week.

The hotel had a great view of the city. The room was nice and large and the facilities had a swimming pool. A good value for the money.
It is far from the city center. If you don’t have a car the walk up to the hotel takes effort. If you are in good shape, it’s doable.
