Hotel Amaca is a great value and has upgraded their facilities to include a breakfast bar/lounge that serves food throughout the day. The pool and roofdeck have also been improved as well. The pool is now heated and is much more usable than before. The rooftop bar continues to be a highlight and a bargain with cheaply priced mixology drinks.

The hotel is still rough around the edges. Our shower didn't drain properly and the furnishings are a bit dated. But other than being an older property, there is not much to complain about at this price point.

Excellent customers service. 5 min walking to the muertos beach. 10 min walking tourist attractions and downtown. There's an elevator outside of the hotel that you can take for free when you want to go downtown, the beach, or just walk around zona romantica.

Strict check in due to few staff and few rooms. The hotel is small, 4 floors top, if you stay at the upper levels you will have to take a few stair.

Great hotel in a great location with friendly, helpful staff. Cannot recommend highly enough and works definitely stay here again.

Location was great. Room size was good. Bed was very comfortable. It was quiet at night which is important to me. Shower pressure was acceptable.

I don’t understand how when a room is cleaned that housekeeping can’t make sure there aren’t hairs all over the place. My bed has more hair in the top cover than a hair salon. Was disgusting. Long hairs on the floor. A hair ball in the shower. I spend 20 min wiping hair off all surfaces. Truly nasty

The pool wasn’t heated, although they are fixing it. The hotel is next to a major road, you could hear the traffic sometimes at nights. Hotel is up in the hill, if you don’t like stairs, don’t stay in the hill.

There is a small amount of free parking, which is so helpful if you have a car. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms are quite spacious with plenty of storage for your clothes and luggage.

Our room looked at a concrete wall--so the photos are misleading in terms of that aspect. It didn't really matter since we were barely in the room, but it was surprising. No coffee in the room, but there is an excellent little cafe about 100 meters down the hill.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Amaca. The staff were all great and helpful. The room was a nice size, and we had a huge private balcony with couch/dining area! The bed was comfortable. We appreciated the in-room safe. The pool area/bar on the roof is a great addition. The location was perfect for us as it was walking distance to beach/restaurants/bars, but a little removed to provide a more quiet location for sleeping. There are stairs to climb to reach the hotel and at the hotel, so that should be taken into consideration. There is a gondola-thing to help with some of the stairs to get up to the hotel, but we never used it.

The bathroom was small and didn't have ventilation. Overall this didn't take away too much from our stay, but if ventilation could be improved, that would be nice (but not sure it's feasible).

It had an intimate, romantic feeling to the place. The rooftop pool was small but perfect for relaxing in the humid heat. I'd highly recommend to any couple looking for a nice getaway. The staff were all courteous and friendly.

The adjacent building had a lot of construction going on, which resulted in the vibrating sounds of jackhammers reverberating through the room during the day, so don't plan on staying in the room during the day. We visited in the off season, so maybe the construction slows down during the busy winter months?

We found the room to be adequate, although it was lacking pictures on the wall or any type of decorating. It was a concrete room with 2 beds, that was it. The deck was a nice size and the fridge worked. Concrete walls, concrete floor. sort of like what you would expect in a prison. Just needs some decorating.
